How to open a link in a new window

I created a flash site which contains a link to an outside website. When I click on the link, need me that outside Web site in the same browser window. To return to my site, I have to use the arrow to the left. I want to change the link to the external site so that the link opens in a new window. So if someone is going through the link when they finish they can close the window again and the original with my Web site window will remain, without losing them both at the end.

What I should pay for it?

var url:URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://www.adobe.com"); navigateToURL(url, "_blank");
getURL/navigateToURL
This method uses the getURL (ActionScript 2.0) or navigateToURL (ActionScript 3.0) command to create a new browser window by targeting a new, blank window. This method is simple, works on all browsers, and requires no JavaScript. This method, however, it does not provide control over window location, size, scrollbars, or toolbars.

I guess something like this you needed?

  • Can I set default to always open a link in a new window, as opposed to a new tab?

Can I set a default to always open a link in a new window instead of a new tab?

No, not to always open a link in a new window. If a link opens in the same window or a new window depends on the creator page specifying new or empty for this link. Firefox can divert the news/white window in a tab instead, which is the default setting.

If you do not want tabs when a new/empty window is specified, deselect the pref to open new windows in a new tab instead , in tools > Options > tabs

  • With the help of Firefox 4.0 Beta 4. When I open a link in a new window, the web address does not appear in the address bar. Why?

When I opened a web page link in "a new window" opens the link, but the information of the web page does not appear in the address bar. It is empty. If I open the link in a new tab, ho problem exists.

In addition, if one open a link in the tab without a location in a new tab in the same window and then go to the original tab, the address bar fills up with the web address.

Made it from several places, so it not dependent on location.

That behavior is likely to be the top caused by an add-on, and in your case the probable guilty is IE Tab 2, the different versions of IE Tab caused problems with Firefox 4 beta, including issues with the location bar not updated.

You can test to see if IE Tab 2 is causing your problem by disabling the it and then see if the address in a new window bar displays the address. If it isn't this add-on causing the problem, see Troubleshooting extensions and themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems.

FYI, the IE Tab Plus add-on has been updated recently to improve compatibility with Firefox 4 beta, you can try this one instead. The latest version is available from http://coralietab.mozdev.org/installation.html

  • How to open a tab in a new window

I remember, but by mistake, it seems, that "in ancient times", there is an option to open a tab in a new window. I can't find this option and I can't find such a topic in the forum so far. Hello MikeZgb2012, you can drag the tab of the tab bar to make it open in a new window.

While several browser windows are open if a link in the current window opens in a new window the active window moves behind one or more of the other windows instead of being originally only the new window that opens on top of it.
