How to play games on Dell Inspiron 700 m Windows XP / impossible to play games

Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 700 m, Windows XP and I wanted to play games on my laptop, but when I try to run a game, it opens, then the window closes automatically. I if it may be that I installed the wrong game, but I checked and everything seems fine. I searched online and found that only a few games is compatible with my laptop. Also, I tried to update my graphics card but I have not seen a video driver update for Dell Inspiron 700 m Windows XP. It does not take in charge the 3d games which I hope there is a solution for, and the game I am playing Battlefield 1942. I tried League of legends and this game seems to work, but another game like GTA or BF1942 don't work. Here's my laptop hardware specifications.

Yes, I thought. This notebook is an old, I had and was giving up for sale. He had previously installed games, but I never used them. In any case thanks for the reply.

BTW, I have a new desktop PC and laptop, so you don't have to worry about a new system. Just had a question about the used laptop previously, anyway thanks.

Hope everyone is a great day

I searched the Internet and discovered that you can reinstall using winnt32.exe. I tried and installed on another partition on my drive hard (I dunno really what I do.) The newly installed XP on a different partition has one problem: he can't connect to internet because I think it doesn't have the drivers and I do not have the CD for the drivers. So in my computer, it has 2 hard drives: disk Local (c) and (d), (c) one is the original. So I want to start Windows XP by using the C: drive, but it starts by using the D: drive. I tried disk management, but it is said: the RPC server is unavailable. Any help? Thank you!

  • I need the video/display drivers for my Dell Inspiron 6000 with Windows 8.

I need the video/display drivers for my Dell Inspiron 6000 with Windows 8.  Laptop is the Intel Pentium M processor 2.00 GHz RAM, operating system, 32-bit on x 86.  My resolution is not at the right level and videos have hard play.

I went to the ATI site and when I try to download their drivers, they will not be installed because they do not recognize the Windows 8 operating system.  The site of Dell's Windows XP operating system.

    1 https://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/kcs/document?c=us&l=en&s=gen&docid=DSN_179256&isLegacy=true#Issue5
Reconstructions of Dell should be loaded in a particular order until the drivers are installed, that is to say the controllers then the drivers for the chipset and resolution etc. They are specific to this.
    then;
2 CharlesGrimes comment '... ". searching on my computer for the Dell under the old windows files and the old drivers were loaded. "I had tried this but not good. So went into a ghost of Dell image when the resolution was good on Win7, recovered files in windows/System32, which has old drivers. Does the update in graphic cards [Device Manager] driver and manually looked through above the files recovered from previous instal win7 and YES they charge this time.
Oh what a relief to have a higher resolution. Experience had taught me how snappy Win8 is, I picked up a shortened bunch of ways to circumvent the operating system, and it is growing on me. WIN8 Pro works best on this old machine than its original Home XP and Win7.
Thank you Carlos and others for your info that led to my positive resolution.
  • Turn off the tap to click on Dell Inspiron 1525 with Windows Vista

Can someone tell me how to disable "tap to click" on the touchpad of my laptop?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525, running Windows Vista.  It's the standard touchpad I mind, it has not been upgraded.

Other forums have suggested to go to the control panel > hardware and sound > mouse, but once I'm there, I only "buttons," "Pointers," "Pointer Options" and "hardware".  There is no option to disable "Tap to click" referred to one of them.

I've updated all the drivers - Windows tells me I have the latest version, if this doesn't fix the problem.

My hands are too big to type without hitting the touchpad!  So frustrating.  I accidentally moved my slider three times during the composition of this post.  Someone help me please!  That's four times now.

    I thought about it!

Under computer > C: > drivers > entry > R176423, I ran DPInst.  He installed the Dell Touchpad option in my taskbar to bottom left.  After the reboot, I was able to open a more in-depth version of my touchpad, where I could uncheck "Tap to click".  _ Yes!

Thanks for all your help, man.  I really appreciate it.  It's really a positive manifestation of the human condition when the volunteers their expertise selflessly to help others.  Keep up the good work, and I hope that this thread will stay up to help someone else in the future.

I have a DELL Inspiron 6400 running Windows Vista. The backlight turns off when the charger is plugged after about 10 to 15 minutes. If I shine a torch on the screen, I see about the display is always. If I select change user from the menu start or stop / restart the machine, the backlight turns on and will last for another 10 to 15 minutes. I tried in safe mode and the same thing happens. Can someone help me with this problem?

It could be the inverter Board or the backlight itself on the way to the outside. Whatever it is, it is definitely a hardware problem and it will take a good repairman to fix. You can contact Dell and see what they would charge to fix this, just to see if it would be more cost-effective to buy a new laptop or have it repaired. Because it is 5 years since it is manufacturing, you can be better to save your pennies for a new :-(

Howe do my dell inspiron back to focture settings

    Hello

Look for partition install factory hidden if you have one that it will reinstall to when new.

Go to start click - technology - law - management - disk management.

Your h/d would have 2 partitions 1 with letter C: with NTFS file system.

The hidden restore partition would have no letter and a Fat32 file system with up to 6 GB of space.

If there is, restart the computer and keep listen them to each of these keys F10 or F11.

This should start a PC Angel or program ghost that will erase and format the hard drive, then reinstall Vista back to factory settings.

Interviewed by the program you want to record your data say Yes.

    Navigate your computer manufacturers website.

To make a recovery disk bootable DVD that can be used in an info your H/D fails.

If you do not have a hidden partition, try http://www.restoredisks.com/

Please keep in mind that my answer is based on the information in your message. More the better I can answer, Slan go foill, Paul

Are you sure there is no another way (other than the CD) restore - as some strike at startup, etc.?

You mean that it doesn't have a CD/DVD drive?

There are several ways you can go about it - the easier, but would probably get a CD/DVD drive.  Borrow one from a person or buy an external.

Another option could include a USB bootable with the files to install on it or something in that sense.
