How to re - install Windows without losing my programs and data?

Some files in my Windows 7 are corrupt, but works very well except for the guide download Windows Security and Windows 7 upadates and repair fixed. How can I reinstal without losing my programs?

I have Windows 7 Home Premium and it works very well, but don't let me do the updates of Windows 7 and Windows security updates. I tried to fix and goes through the installation at the end and charging programs and said then there restore the previous version.  How can I reinstall a good copy of Windows 7 without losing my programs? I can't wait to do a "clean install" when everything works fine, except as described above and an occasional "blue screen" which causes a reboot.

It takes hours to recharge the programs and ID more their upedates, do Windows updates, etc. when everything is fully functional.  There must be something to replace the old version to create a clean version, i.e. going from Home Premium from Windows 7, etc.  Thank you.

Would be to replace Microsoft Professional it Home Premium and Igor files corrupted which may be there.

I must say that, if you want to install Windows 7 Professional, you must do a clean install.

also can you name the updates that you can not install? as (KB...)

  • How to re - install windows without formatting of other partitions?

    Hello world

I had some problems with my windows on my laptop so I decided to re - install the windows. I have the DVD of my system recovery. So I used it to recover my system. Now the problem is, I had divided my hard drive to 5 partitions. 'C' was where windows is installed, "D" is repeated, 'E' is HP-Tools 'G' was my files and 'H' was my other stuff such as games. After that I recovered my system my data all had disappeared, my scores have disappeared. My other two spaces (G & H) disappeared and evrything I had in these 2 areas has been removed.

My Question is: How can I just re - install the windows without erasing my other partitions? I mean how can I re - install the windows which is found only on drive "C"? I didn't format my hard drive that I wanted to just format drvie 'C' and re - install the windows there.

Please help me in this regard.

    Hi again Esfandiari,

As you see below, the HP document:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02638587

during the process of recovery you must use minimized Image recovery, as he said "If ago customer-created partitions on the hard drive, the HP Recovery Manager invite you for permission to remove them or leave them intact."

    All the best!

How can I get rid of it or how can I
Re-install firefox without losing any data?

There is a rash that goes around, and the solution is not yet clear 100%. I suggest try reinstalling this way:

    Clean reinstall it

We use this name, but it is not about the deletion of your settings, it comes to ensure that program files are-own and contain no alien code files. As described below, this process does not disrupt your existing settings. Don't uninstall NOT Firefox, that does not need.

    (1) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 37.0.1 of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).

    (2) close Firefox (if applicable).

    (3) to rename the program folder

    (Windows 32-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files\OldFirefox

    (Windows 64-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox

    (4) run the installer you downloaded in the #1. It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

    Any improvement?

Note: Some plugins can only exist in this OldFirefox file. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:

  • How can I install Windows 8 of my 1.5 TB external harddrive without formatting?

Well I finally decided to move to Windows 8 (starting from Windows 7 x 64), but I'm stuck in a weird situation here...  I image .iso Windows 8 with me but I will not be burn on a DVD, the only option would be either use a USB key or an external HARD disk... Unfortunately my 16 GB USB DRIVE no longer works (and the .iso image file does not in my other USB drives I had remaining)... So I decided to use my drive external HARD on the contrary - but there's another problem... about 750 GB on my HARD drive is full (there are all my files, movies, music, games, etc) and the rest is 'empty '...

So, how can I install Windows 8 of this external HARD drive without formatting? Since I don't have any other "spare" hard drives or USB keys with a lot more storage capacity...  And I can't keep them in my laptop because it has only 500 GB...

Can I partition my external HARD drive and secure all my files in one partition, and format the other partition to use it to install Windows 8 on my laptop somehow...?

You can create a partition on your HARD drive and install Windows inside with Universal USB Installer
Here's how you create a new Partition
    • Open disk management
    • Right click on the partition that you want to split > Shrink > select size > Ok
    • Unallocated space will appear
    • Right-click on > Format give a letter

OR you can install windows on a different partition from your internal HARD drive

You can create a partition in the internal drive and extract files inside Windows and make it bootable with EasyBCD (3rd party free program to change startup options and other things)
    • Create a new partition using disk management
    • Extract the files to install Windows inside
    • Open EasyBCD > add new item > WinPE > search for X:\Sources\boot.wim > add
    • Reboot and choose the new element added to the startup in
I used this method once and it worked

    Hello

Unfortunately, this is not possible using the Toshiba Recovery DVD

If you n t want to lose your data on the second partition, that I recommend to install the Windows using the Microsoft disk or you should back up your files before using the recovery DVD.

  • Reinstall Windows without losing personal files

I have an external hard drive I have Windows 7 on, but recently it seems to have got some corrupted files because it does not start. It gets past the windows splash screen, and then sits down with a cursor on a black screen. I can move the mouse cursor.

I think that the best way to solve this problem would be to reinstall all windows files.
I can plug the hard drive into another computer and view the files of the operating system of the computer.
In short, what I'm asking if there's a way to reinstall all files in windows without losing all my personal files

You can perform a custom installation.

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

    Hello

What is a model supported by your version of Windows? You could just plug it in and see if Windows recognizes
and they get the drivers off of the internet. Although it is recognized that you should always check the manufacturer's website
    new drivers and control software.

Check with the site of the manufacturer of the camera brand and model you should be able to download the necessary software.

    I hope this helps.

  • I would like to know how to re - install windows on a laptop with the product key on the back of the laptop.

install windows with the product key

someone I gifted an old laptop with a lot of things about what I don't want and stuff I want is missing. I would like to know how to re - install windows on the laptop with the product key on the back of my laptop.

or, even better, if someone could find me a way to get a disk to restore to factory without purchasing information, which would be awsome.

I thank you for your time and have a good day.

If the laptop is one of the well known brands, he may well have a restore partition.  If you do not have a manual to the user of this computer, then go to the manufacturers website and look for the documentation.  At the very least, you should be able to find information about how to restore the laptop from the recovery partition.

If the restore partition has been decimated, the manufacturer may still have available for a nominal cost of installation diskettes.

  • How can I install again without having to download it?

A few days ago I installed windows 10 successfully. The download was a pain because I had several errors, but it finally worked. I discovered later that I liked windows 7 better because it was easier, then I demoted. I regret this because my friend showed me an easier way to use win10. How can I install again without having to download it?

If not create you the installation media for Windows 10, you will need to download it again.

If you need to install or reinstall Windows 10, you can use the tools on this page to create your own installation media by using a flash DRIVE or a DVD drive.

Create your own media for a new installation:

    Hello

I'm a french so please forgive me for my bad English.
I just want to know if it is possible to install Linux on my system without compromising my warranty.

    My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite P300 - 19H
The current operating system is Vista Premium Home Edition (pre-installation on my laptop)
I paid for 3 year extended warranty, that's why I want to be sure I can install Linux.

If it is possible, I have to take certain steps before you try to install it in a Dualboot with Vista?

    Thanks for the reply.

    Hello

You can install Linux without losing the warranty. Toshiba doesn't support Linux on this laptop, but you can install it of course.

If you want to do a dual boot with Vista and that you are interested in a version of Ubuntu, you should take a look at the Wubi:
    http://wubi-Installer.org/
It is a sure way to install Ubuntu on laptop with Vista installed.
