How to remove a file that causes the folder that it is in gel

The file is downloaded demo, game of Eleusis, in the My Documents folder. A touch on the folder or file inside causes computer freeze, requiring the use of the Task Manager to escape. Then it is still a minute or two until the pc is still usable. On occasion, he needs even pulling the plug to shut down the pc.

I tried to remove the My Documents folder, but Windows will not allow that.

Help please.

I don't have to assume that the program the file belongs to is listed in the control panel. Add/Remove programs.

The only suggestion I have is to start in safe mode and see if you can remove it.

I uninstalled Nero 8 on my system (Windows Vista Edition home premium, 64-bit dell 1737 studio system); but several Nero files are always stuck in my registry. How can I remove them without destabilizing the system? Thank you.

Yes, Nero is a software that I hate. I liked Nero until 6 version, I think, but after the Version 8 and 9, it was pathetic.

2 years ago I had uninstalled a lot of software and there were many many registry entries obsolete - when a search I found that a member of a forum on the Web recommend CCleaner.

Used from 2 years - each time without making registry backups. He never did wrong with my two PC - Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7 SP1 (previously Windows 7 RTM).

    The registry cleaner is fantastic.

In which case you can try it, here's the download link.

    Hey tjhoward44,

On the drive home screen, it is at the top left an icon marked documents. Touch and you will get a list of your files. Drag the file you want to delete, from right to left. You will get to Remove the button to the right of your file. Tap this button and your file has disappeared. The list of files under the document icon are a list recently, and you can not delete the files from there.

  • How to remove missing files that have been deleted.

I have a number of missing files in Lightroom. They no longer exist on the disk! The only way I found to get to these files is via a smart collection. What tests for metadata are not not to date. Because the files aren't there metadata cannot be undated. As I can't delete the smart collection Lightroom database files. I was not able to find a way to access the folder Lightroom files except through the above mentioned smart collection.

So, how to remove the record from Lightroom.

PS rather surprised that there is not a way to put in place a collection of smart to display all files that are missing!

Select the photos in the smart collection with the icon question mark missing. Use Cmd-click or shift-click the first and last if they are all in a straight block. Then, click the top left on the catalog tab and select all photographs. Band information (over the film), confirm that you are in all the photos and the number of photos you have selected, and then use the menu:

  • How to remove a file that is described as a path not valid

Where you are specialists, please help!

I use Win Vista Home 32-bit Edition.

When I tried to delete an empty folder on the desktop, I received a message that says ' could not find this point, this is no longer in C:\...plz check the location and try again '. Of course, I had two options: retry or cancel. I tried the command prompt, but it says that "cannot find the specified path" in the first place.

It makes me really frustrated, anyone knows about this problem please help! I am so grateful.

I know also that using a software called 'record-cleaning tool' could solve this but y at - it another way which is free (the software costs U.S.$ 19).

    With respect,

    a patient of Windows...

Try to http://www.freeware-guide.com/dir/util/cleanup2.html BeClean.  He claims to be able to clear up Office of broken links (and your problem seems to be at least in part).

I can't find anything else other than the one you have found (and I'm not sure that it will work even in your case because I don't think the problem is that the folder name is too long).

I have no other suggestions.  Everything else I found was commercial and costs even more than $19 (and I'm not at all certain that they would work either).

A roundabout must examine your corrupted user profile.  To fix this use http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile.  If that is the only available Administrator Profile (you need to be an administrator to fix this), enable the Hidden Administrator Account (HAA) using http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?&lang=en&cr=US&guid=&sloc=en-us&dg=microsoft.public.windows.vista.administration_accounts_passwords&p=1&tid=d20f9db4-7b2c-48be-a087-7835dc2a9055&mid=d20f9db4-7b2c-48be-a087-7835dc2a9055.  If you don't remember the password, try nothing because that's probably what you (or seller) did during the installation.  Once that is done, don't forget to disable the HAA to save it in case it is necessary once again and for safety reasons (since people often try to hack into systems using this account).  Do NOT use the HAA as your administrator account because if you lose the only administrator on the system account or it is damaged again, then you're watered.  The THING is when copy you the Desktop folder do NOT include this file.  Then your desktop in your new profile should be clear from the record.  Unfortunately, you have some problems to delete the old profile user due to this folder - but at least the record will disappear from your desktop (even if you have a profile user unusable, sitting in the users folder parts - but then again it can remove very well - especially with the above two programs if necessary). It's a lot of work just to delete an unwanted record, but if it happened to you that bad it is an option to consider.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

Try a Chkdsk. There have been cases where data after doing a Chkdsk/r, so make sure that your data is backed up on an external first.

Click to open the computer. Right click on the hard drive you want to check, and then click Properties. Click on the Tools tab and then, under error-checking, click check now. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

To automatically repair problems with files and folders that the scan detects, select automatically fix file system errors. Otherwise, the disk check will simply report a problem, but not to fix them.

To perform a full disk check, select search and attempt to recover bad sectors. This scan is trying to find and repair physical errors on the hard drive itself, and it may take much longer to complete.

To check for errors file and the physical errors, select both automatically fix errors in file system and search for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

    Click Start.

Depending on the size of your hard disk, this may take several minutes. For best results, do not use your computer for any other tasks while it checks errors.

Note: If you select automatically errors in file system of fix for a disc that is used (for example, the partition that contains Windows), you will be prompted, see the disk check for the next time you restart your computer.

  • How to recover personal files created in the folder list by e-mail

I already created personal folders in the e-mail directory and saved invoices etc in there under company names.
Our computer has been recently repaired and everything had to be saved and re-recorded on it again.
When we returned there was no personal folders in the e-mail directory more. When I rang the company that fixed to the computer, they said there is no folder saved, so no for them to recover and put back on our computer.
There are a few very important files in these folders - is possible to find?

Re: when I rang the company that fixed to the computer, they said there is no folder saved,

As you say not whay they were "fixing", I'm not sure what they were doing on the computer. If they have reinstalled the operating system, then the computer was wiped and everything has been removed.

If they saved only the standard Windows folders, then they would not have saved anything another (not Windows) program data, is stored in the Appdata Roaming folders.
AppData folders are hidden by default, but the technicians should have known this, because it is standard.

Looks like they did not backup your Thunderbird profile, or emails.
I came across "technicians" who have no idea that non-Windows applications to store data in the Appdata folder. So why it is always a good idea to make all of your backups yourself.

You could ask to see what files they saved, but it is possible that they have not kept this information. If they still have this information, then you must find all of the files in this directory:
    C:\Users\Windows user name\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\Profile name\

If they have not saved your profile and you have not kep a copy/backup of your own profile, then you have a problem.

Therefore, the two questions you need to ask the people who fixed the computer are:
Q1: They have completely clean the computer and reinstall the OS?
If Yes, then you know there is nothing hid on the computer, as he wiped.

Q2: Can they provide a copy of all records and files that they saved?
If Yes, then you might look to see if they did to actually backup location:
    C:\Users\Windows user name\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\Profile name\
It would prove that if they supported these files upwards and if they save them if they were really empty.

Q3: Specifically - they do backup Appdata\Roaming folder?

If they do not have to this backup location, then you have lost this information and can take even further with them. I don't know what the contract was with them, but if they lost your data and they're supposed to have everything backed up, so you can use.

I suggest you check the T & C to see if they do not accept the loss of data, because it is something considered to be your responsibility. If they claim to back up all your files, then the files and folders in this location must have been backed up. Then, they could prove that those files and folders were empty.

    Hi Reasman,

Welcome to the Microsoft answers site!

To clear pending files, select the files/folders in the 'Files to add to the CD/DVD' box and press DELETE. However, if you want to delete all files, click the CD/DVD drive and select 'Clear the staging area' from the context menu.

You can manually delete the files that are stored in the following location:

    %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\CD Burning folder

    I hope this helps!

my phone asking me always Apple ID password of the account that I did not create. I have this account in my settings, but I don't know how to remove it. Thanks for the reply.

There are several places an identifier Apple is used on an iPhone.

    • If it's the Apple of a former owner of the phone ID, and it is in settings/iCloud grace to find my iPhone activated, ONLY the person who set up the Apple ID can remove (see: find my iPhone Activation Lock: a mechanism of extraction of the previous owner)
    • If it's the Apple ID in Settings/iTunes & App Store just log out, then log back with the correct ID of Apple.
    • Do the same for iMessage and Facetime, if that is where the Apple ID is used.
    • If he is asked during the updating of the apps means that applications have been purchased or downloaded using this code from Apple. To resolve this issue, you must remove the application, and then buy with your Apple ID.
