  I understand that you are unable to remove a user account that is not listed in the control panel under users, manage account.

  Follow these methods and check if that helps.

  Method 1:
  Please refer to these steps on how to remove a PC user account.

  To remove an account from your PC

  You must be logged in as an administrator to perform these steps.

  a. drag from the right edge of the screen, tap settings, and then tap Change PC settings.
  Press or click accounts, and then press or click on other accounts.

  b. press or click the account that you want to remove, and then press or click delete.

  c. press or click delete the account and data. (Please back up all important data before you delete the user account).

  d. it may take a few minutes, if the account has a lot of associated data.

  Method 2:
  If you are not able to find the user account, and then follow these steps.
  a. press Windows + R and type netplwiz, and then press ENTER.

  b. in user accounts, select the user tab.

  c. now, click the account you want to remove and click Remove.

  1. have you created existing administrator account?

  We should have at least one account of administrator user on the computer. To remove a user admin account, you should have another administrator user on the computer account. If you have one, and then you connect to it and delete the other admin user account.

  If you don't have another administrator user account, and then start the computer in safe mode to access the default Admin user account and to delete the existing admin user account. To do this, try the following steps:

  On my Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit system, all I had to do was to remove all the accounts (other than 'administrator') in addition to my login information main user account and remove the password of the Admin account and I use a main user account, and then whenever I reboot, reboot goes all the way to the Windows desktop (i.e. through it does not stop with a cover page showing the user account).

  -It does not seem that this approach works for my Vista SP2 Business Edition 32 bit.  In fact - I get TWO accounts of user with the exact name even appear (my account "DougL12"), as well as the "Administrator" account  None of these accounts have passwords (I can just click on one of them, which brings up a screen to enter a password, then click again without entering any PW, and then I get thru on my desk).

  When I go to 'User accounts' control Panal and select 'Manage another account', windows displays a screen showing three accounts:

  (1) "Guest" (power off);

  (2) "DougL12" (hey I am running, whose B-T-W has privileges admin; also do not have a password); and

  (3) 'administrator' (which, if I choose only, is not an option 'disable', although it has not one)

  (password).

  NOTE: page does not display "" versions of the user account "DougL12", although the login screen that is telling.

  so:

  (1) what do I do to eliminate the appearance of user accounts / Login Screen (i.e., default to my main user

  Account, "DougL12" and should not click)?

Did a clean install with Windows 7, then service Pack1 followed by a lot of updates from Windows update. Also added a lot of software. Now, I sound and have not yet added the optional updates from Windows update to the sound card drivers. I haven't added the other drivers so what comes from Service Pack 1, Windows 7, and important updates.

  Probably should have started the search in just after Service Pack 1, but no drivers have not because I had no problem. A few things are of yellow color in the Device Manager but it should for things like quick launch buttons, SD card reader.   I uninstalled NVIDIA drivers very well using Control Panel - program & features. Now, I found scan driver is no longer available. Device Manager indicates that I will use a standard vga adapter. Should I just go ahead and add the nvidia chip and then get the nvidia drivers or do I let more fragments, which will cause problems?
