  • several operating systems on my laptop... I installed two windows 7 operating systems... How to remove the old operating system.

    Hello

I installed windows 7 on my laptop but it did not work properly. Still, I installed windows 7 but it did not drive partitions.

It will automatically take the disk partitions. program files recent operating system (windows 7) are in the D drive.

    I have two questions.

    1. How do I uninstall the previous windows 7 (these program files are in the C drive).

    2. how windows 7 current (drive D) program files in the C drive.

    Please help with these issues.

    Thanking you.

Sorry, you can't move the current from D: to C: operating system because the registry contains countless references to D: all would be wrong.

Removal of unwanted operating system is possible, but risky. It is best done by an expert who has the necessary experience and tools. He would need them in case the machine becomes unbootable longer after cleaning.

Your best bet is to start all over again. Back up your data, and then let the drive be formatted during the installation process.

With the elders the older operating systems, in this case 98, has prior installation.

Is that of Vista as soon as it does not matter what operating system is installed first to do a dual boot.

With Vista, you can then install XP as the second installed the operating system in a dual boot.

  • How to remove the second Fusion VM VMware VMDK

OK, this should be a simple question, but I do not see the answer anywhere.

I have a virtual machine with two virtual hard disks: a 100 GB C: drive and a D: 400GO drive. I have drive D: more, because the data it contained has been displaced elsewhere. I shut down the virtual machine and use the parameters dialog box to remove the second hard drive. But my whole VM is still huge, as the VMDK for D: drive is always there. I don't want to narrow it down, I just want that he went.

How can I remove it? Shouldn't be able to change all references to this second VMDK from the VMX file, and then drag the second VMDK of packaging of the virtual machine and in the trash?

    Thanks for any help.

When you delete a virtual hard disk in the Virtual Machine settings, it's just changes a value in the from true to FALSE .vmx file but does not delete the files that make up the disc or a hard file.

You can therefore remove in the settings or manually edit the .vmx file and the button Delete the appropriate hard.

Note: Make sure that you remove the right files!

I have Windows XP SP3 on a Dell computer. I have a new computer with Windows 7 Pro.

I want the option to be able to start my new computer with XP and run it as an alternative to USB.

Is there a way I can completely transfer the contents of the drive WITH the XP OPERATING SYSTEM on a regular external USB3 drive so I can start the new computer using XP works like the operating system, when I need?

    Thank you.

You do not have.  Windows XP doesn't work this way (start of the external drive).

You can virtualize the old computer (physical to virtual conversion) and run it as a virtual machine on your new system.  Although, honestly, it would be a bit beyond the type of assistance usually given in these home user forums.  A Google search would be ways to virtualize a physical system and/or choose which Manager of virtualization that you want to use (Microsoft VirtualPC, VirtualBox, VMware Player/workstation, etc...)

I don't have the original product key.  I would also like to know if I could tell her, Windos XP or Windows 7 upgrade? Thank you for your quick response and aaccurate.

    Lustn

    Hello

XP is not an upgrade, and you can buy XP or Windows 7.

XP is no longer marketed by Microsoft or main computer for many years manufacturers.

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/84488-activate-Vista-phone.html

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • How to remove the second English language of languages?

    I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601)

    I'm in the Canada.

Normally, I have in my computer 2 languages: English (canada) and second language (Russia) by default.

My location is defined in the Canada, my language for programs no Unicode (system locale) is set to Russian (Russia)

I use a keyboard shortcut to switch between 2 languages - 1 click, language switched.

After a few windows recent patch added itself - ESL English (US).

This additional English does NOT appear in languages - only in the window of the small toolbar. I can't remove it.

Here is the screenshot of how it looks: http://postimg.org/image/3kfe5hhyb/

Now switch between languages takes 2 clicks - to scroll through the additional English.

Someone help please, how to remove it? (I think not that go back to a previous version of windows is a good idea IMHO)

OK, I think I thought about her.

So, apparently now English (US) is always the default input language and it can not be removed - it will ALWAYS be there. So if you are Canadian, nevermind, delete your own Canadian English or suffer 2 identical English keyboards.

It's really nice of microsoft to make.

in any case, I had to remove English (canada) to solve my problem.
