How to: retrieve deleted programs, files and images after reinstalling Vista

Original title: I reinstalled Vista and accidentally deleted programs, files, and photos. Is it possible to recover these? Recovery program does not work.

I had accidentally deleted a program and thought by reinstalling Vista it would bring the program back without changing anything on the computer.  By reinstalling, this because all my programs, files and images to be deleted.  I tried using the recovery program, and it goes back only to the day that I reinstalled Vista.  Is it possible to recover images, lost programs and files?

Buna,

You have loaded Vista again, so you will need to reinstall all your programs once again, sorry for the bad news.

Looking through answers here, you should look to see if you have windows.old folder.

It is information of Support engineers if you have this

Other people here have said they used RECUVA free recovery program file to help find the files when they were in your place

    Hello

Try to delete the files and folders using check and disk cleanup if it helps. Disk clean up will help you remove unwanted and unused files, folders, and programs.

    Hello

The update option in the settings of PC mentions that you can save your personal files, it does not mention programs and applications.

The first screen you see when you select the refresh option is as follows.

You will need to reinstall all of the programs deleted.

How can I recover the files and programs before a system restore?  my document folders are all empty and my programs will not open!

I know they are there and hidden somewhere, but this restoration took my settings of the computer to 2004! We lost all our data, our software that we use to operate our company at home, our quickbooks that has all our financial data, family photos, videos, Outlook will work not so no e-mail, all turned in time and 6 years ' worth of documents have disappeared.

What happeneded was that I was trying to upgrade to quickbooks software when I got an error, I cancelled out of the facility, then restarted and that's when I got an error hal.dll something? I thought about a system restore would allow me to go back in time to just before when the error occurred, but he basically took my computer back to factory settings, so all the programs that I installed and paid hundreds of dollars for the past six years has disappeared, Microsoft Office and very expensive construction estimating software that we wil have to pay once AGAIN for If I can't get this program working properly.

    I am a fool! I can't believe what's happening.

Someone at - it instructions on how I can retrieve either the programs and data that I need specifically or how to go and seek shade from the files I read online on and restore my computer for about 12 hours ago?

    Thank you all!

Looks like you did a system rather than a system restore recovery.  If you have inserted a disc supplied with your machine and booted from it, you probably erased the disc and installed the original operating system provided with your computer.  Usually, a step in this recovery is to do a full format or quick of your drive.  If you did a full format, your data is permanently lost.  With a quick format, your data may still be there, somewhere but inaccessible by normal means.  Applications must generally be installed, in order to recover the files probably will not help unless you have the original installation media.  Your other data files (images, videos, financial data) may be salvageable, but at this point, it would be advisable to take your computer or your disk to a business/professional who is experienced with data disc recovery.  It will be cheap and there is no guarantee.

Impatient, remember investigate you a backup strategy for your computer and critical data.  Hard drives can go wrong with little or no warning.

No, you can not delete Program Files (x 86). Many Microsoft Office programs for example, still come in 32-bit. Other programs, such as Internet Explorer 10, are a mixture.

  • How can I delete a file in use by demon updater?

How can I delete a file that says it's in use by Daemon updater.exe?

I have a computer with a hard drive of GB 914, who recently said that it is impossible to install a program because the disk is full. While they inspected, I found that it only reported about 200 GB of usage and after you remove files non-essential, I released 57 GB of disk space.

I made sure to show all files and installed a file tree Locator and found a log of 684 GB file but when I tried to remove it, it said that the file was not in the specified location. Then I manually found the file in system32 tree and he said that it is impossible to delete the file because it is used by daemonupdater.exe.

    can anyone help please?

    Credonem, welcome to the forum.

I suggest start safe mode to see if that helps with your problem.  Safe mode starts only the drivers and programs needed.

Please, click on "Thumbs Up +" if I helped you and click "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

  • Can I delete program files Win XP Autocomplete Pro dangerous?

Seizure semi-automatic Pro is extremely dangerous, store personal information forms, which can be hacked, I don't just want to turn it off, I want to remove the program file. Deletion will cause problems with Win XP or IE8?

There is a program called "autocomplete pro" that would have been asked to download and install in windows.

However, there is also a feature integrated into the browser known simply as 'AutoComplete '.

regarding the feature, here's a Web page with info and links page to other articles on the feature disabling and disabling the data it accumulates:

    http://answers.recipester.org/question/11233/how-to-disable-AutoComplete-in-Hotmail

with respect to the program, here is the url entered AutoComplete pro.  She mentions the use of the Add/Remove Control Panel.  but as you pointed out it is not an entry for it.  If, however, the program has been installed manually, then it can have a parent under c:\program files.  If so, then delete the files and folders for the assurance that it is incapaticated:

  • All program files and shortcuts from the "Start" menu disappeared

I use Windows Vista Home Premium (SP2) (64-bit).  Two days back, I've updated my windows.  After restarting the PC, all program files and shortcuts in Start menu disappeared.  The shortcuts that I myself had added manually do not work.

Have you tried to do the restore of the system in SafeMode as stated in my answer 1 to you?

    If it doesn't/does not work:

If you do not want to repost in the Windows Update Forum (they are the specialists it for the best advice regarding your problem), make this disc Bootable startup repair and use it to do a system restore or uninstall the updates by using the method 2nd in my 1st reply:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:

    ISO Burner:http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.

You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

It is NOT a disc of resettlement.

And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.

  • How can I delete a file named [Torrentreactor.to]

    000000

We could use more information on the way in which the file came to be on your system and what program to assign you it.  In addition, it would be useful to know why you want to delete this file and where it is located (to see if we can learn more about it and its function and perhaps why, you find it difficult to do).  But I'll give a few suggestions based on certain assumptions that I'm going to do about the situation.  If you get error messages or the program starts to him alone without want you to do it, then please tell us that (and are exactly what that error messages and when the program starts).

If it is part of a program that you no longer want, you need to uninstall the entire program rather than deleting its files (as suggested above by Bruce)- otherwise the pieces of the program will remain in your system files and in the register (and perhaps elsewhere) without good service (and be VERY difficult to find and safely remove later if you want to clean your machine).  If Vista uninstall does not work, try Revo to: http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/revo-uninstaller/revouninstaller.html , who sometimes works when Vista standard uninstall programs does not work.

Maybe you do not have permissions or ownership to delete the file (you should receive error messages - if yes, what are they).  Here's how to fix that:

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.  To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/.

To resolve this problem with folders, appropriating the files or the drive (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  You can change now switched to read-only (even if the main folder indicates that they are always read-only - you can access yourself as the owner).  You can keep them in read-only to other users, customers and administrators even (although they can support themselves and access, if they wish, and it is really not that you can do to stop it except protect the file with a password by using a 3rd party product.)  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html.  To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If it is an unknown file that you do not know how it got on your system and you are unable to delete in the normal way (which is I guess the case since you posted the question here), can carry by using one of the following free products to remove the file/folder.  Unlocker to: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Unlocker.shtml or file Assassin http://www.malwarebytes.org/fileassassin.php (with or without forcing the deletion: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/12/27/force-delete-cannot-delete-locked-or-in-used-files-or-folders-with-fileassassin/). These programs often work when normal functions remove Vista not work correctly.

    I hope this helps.
