How to select a contact from the address book?

What I've done so far is, can call using address book following code.

AddressBookArguments addressBook = new AddressBookArgumentsAddressBookArguments.ARG_COMPOSE);

Invoke.invokeApplication(Invoke.APP_TYPE_ADDRESSBOOK, addressBook);

But I don't have an idea on how to add selected phone contact to BasicEditField specified.

can someone give me some information about this.

any help will be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Narendra

Fill in the address book of your application and use it.

    What your correspondent need or want?

    It has well established standard for the exchange of contact information is the vCard that encapsulates many of the fields commonly used in a Contact entry.

    If a vCard file is suitable for you and your correspondent, this add-on:

    https://NIC-NAC-project.org/~kaosmos/morecols-en.html

    has a nifty feature for sending cards in attachments. Then your correspondent can probably just add to her address book. If you copy the simple details, such as name, address, e-mail address phone no, then the person has put everyone in his address book by hand.

    If you open the mailing list in your address book, you can probably drag each item in the body of a new mail message. But it's more work than necessary for you and the recipient, which will need to manually add everyone in his address book.

    With this module, you should be able to open the mailing list by selecting it in the address book, and then use ctrl + a to select all, then right click and select 'Send as vCard'; It will open a new message with all the attached selected Contacts.

    Lists have generally a standard presentation, so a list in the e-mail client is rarely useful in another. If you use Thunderbird, you can use this module to export the list to a .tha or THM file that could import another user of Thunderbird.

  • How to select a contact in my address book?

    Hello

    I want to get a particular contact in my address book with his name. (In this example, I want the phone number of John)

    But when I use the code below, it does not work! I do not understand why!

        final String[] name = contact.getStringArray(Contact.NAME, 0);        final String firstName = name[Contact.NAME_GIVEN];

        String johnNumber = null;        String PhoneNumber = null;        if (contact.countValues(Contact.NAME) > 0)        {            PhoneNumber = contact.getString(Contact.TEL,0);        if(firstName == "John") // it never find John and I put the same spelling of John in my address book                   {                    johnNumber = PhoneNumber;            }            else                 johnNumber = null;        }  return johnNumber;

    Could you explain to me why and you have the solution to this you problem?

    Thank you in advance.

    The cause of your problem is probably the following line of code in getJohnNumber():

    firstName = 'John '.

    Use the method instead. equals(), such as

    "John".equals (firstName) ".

    In addition, it seems that you don't quite understand the purpose of the countValues() method. It returns the number of values in a particular field, NOT the number of non-null in the returned array elements returned by getStringArray().  Citing then countValues (Contact.NAME) returns the number of tables in the NAME field.  You really should ask countValues() * before * getStringArray (Contact.NAME, 0) and only call the getStringArray() if countValues() returns a value greater than 0.  Try to create an entry in the address book of BlackBerry with only a company name and no last name or the name. Then, when you run your application, you'll probably notice a RuntimeException thrown of getStringArray() because the NAME field has values null. Also, try running when an existing address book entry only has a family name and no last name; Make sure that no NullPointerException is thrown (because name [Contact.NAME_GIVEN] is nothing).

    Please take a look at my example in the previous post, which shows a reliable way to get the name of a Contact.

    Hello

    How can I enter an alien contact in the address book, without affecting other household contacts?

    I'll card > add field > model > General and change in the country, but it acts on all contacts. How can I do so selectively?

    I think you're overthinking this.

    There is an entry for the country to each address, so all you need to do is fill it out if necessary.

    I'm in Portugal, while most of the addresses mentioned no country, which means that they are national. My daughter lives in the United Kingdom, so his speech looks like this:

    Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions of the origin of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

  • How to select and copy text from the address book of lightning, against duty open entry?

    I know, it is not possible to highlight and copy the text visible in the pane above it, with all the entries in address book or Contact. Am I missing a way to do this?

    It would, of course, the use of the address book in lightning much easier and faster to use if we could do. Please note that I did not edit. Instead, it is necessary to go through the same steps as if editing. That is, open properties and select the appropriate tab, highlight & copy said information, instead just to be able to quickly copy the text you want.

    It's just two more clicks and the conclusion of the text, which can be cumbersome in some Windows Small field, especially for the notes, but when you do it often, he of course becomes a pain. Notes, in particular, becomes a mini database to enter address, be it your personal record for product information for something (which could be extended if many of the parts of something like a specific computer have been identified), bought to share other contact information.

    A third is used especially when we need to get impossible to remember, like your BTC account security information. Keeping in the address book on a home computer, adds a little more security, but you can access it easily.

    Add more functions to the AddressBook allows several functions of copy.

    How to remove a contact when, if forwarding a message, the icon flashes in space 'To' to enter the email address, when you press the first letter of a recipient, it displays a list of previous names/addresses used. This can add to a huge list! Most of the time, it is useful, but how can I shorten the list by removing unwanted contacts in the drop-down list? I got them removed from my address book/contacts (and they are deleted) but even after re-booting the computer, their names still appear in the drop-down list as before. All solutions?

    Instead of typing the first letter of the name of the recipient

    Press on the envelope icon to next to the box where you type the name of the recipient

    Opens the selection of recipients

    Highlight the recipient of choice

    Click on the button to

    The name appears in the window of the recipient of the Message

    Press Ok

    The name of recipients appears in the field to the message

  • Outlook - can not see contacts in the address book.

    I lost the address book in Outlook (Office 2007) when I migrated from Vista to Windows 7, I use Outlook as my e-mail program. I checked that the address book is enabled but I can't select the check in contacts in the properties box that says "show this folder as an e-mail address book", it is grayed out. I also tried adding an entry in the address book, and he came with a message to add a PAB file to your profile in the account settings. I've added as a PAB file under the data files - still does not work.

  • entering and using multiple e-mail addresses for one contact in the address book in Outlook Express

    Some of my contacts asking me to send emails to all addresses. Because I can enter several e-mail addresses for a contact in my address book, how can I get the automatic address entry button to enter more than one address for a contact and not only the default address?

    You will need to have separate lists (and names) for each address in address book. For example...

    NovemberGirl novembergirl [AT] [email protected]

    HotmailNovemberGirl novembergirl [AT] hotmail.com

    YahooNovemberGirl novembergirl [AT] yahoo.com
