  I have an iMac where I want to share a Windows 7 VM with another user... in fact she'll use it much more I will.  Problem is I get messages saying that it has insufficient privileges. I found a video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-Uxfuo0Reo) which showed how, but it did not work.

LM 4.0 running and some of my users have stated that when they share configs they have with other users (in the same organization), the added users cannot "Console Mode". It is grayed out.   I'm curious though; Under sharing, if you chose the ' users selected in the workspace: hand ' rahtner that ' everyone in the workspace: hand ' and then specify individual users, you are able to change their level of access to 'Edit' or 'total control '. On my setup, it seems that you cannot change the level of access beyond Read-Only "unless you are addressing the specific workspace.

  In general, it is safe to do so - just a person granting access to your network will not give them access to your files on your computer unless you are already sharing files with another computer on your network.  In this case, you want to check your sharing settings to make sure that the shared files are not available for all users of the network.  The thing I'd be worried, is whether or not the person you share with is "don't own"-no virus, malware, etc. on their computer, given that some of these programs can spread via a shared network connection.

  I'm working on the ODI which need to have a control loop that evaluate a variable (let's say it's 'ABC') with another variable (let's call it "XYZ"). Seems it should work, but I got the following error in the execution:

  java.lang.NumberFormatException: for input string: "YZ".
  ......
  -----------------------------
  In the evaluate text box, I put in "#XYZ" (without the quotation marks in the text box). But the error message indicates that the input string of the error is "YZ", i.e. without the first 2 characters. I also tried ': XYZ ' and also '#PROJECT. XYZ", but received the same error.
  Can anyone help? Or advice are welcome, thx.

I recently came across problems with repartition my hard drive (it's a bit difficult to change the size of the partition between a basic volume and an extended volumes, even with a third-party utility that performs its work until Windows starts and wanted to completely pass the two user profiles (and preferably both program files)) (, but I can't even more with after discovering that most of my programs have themselves out of their expanded paths and not system variables linking the search through the registry) for the extended partition. I was trying to see if I could do that through a batch file (whose content I have so far for the non-admin will be shown below after this post), but I can't find anything in the registry that I could change. My question is twofold:

  1. I try to take the right path by using a batch script to move the two users? If I did do something wrong and if so, what?
  2. How could I put a variable user for another user on the same system? (It is a continuation of question 1)
  3. (Second question) Is it possible to move my programs Program Files/Program Files (x 86) runs on my D: drive and operate them out of that? I was also wanting to have just my system files and similar to run on my C: drive, because of the drastically limited space. The only exceptions to that would be the dozen of programs that are installed in the folder root (aka C:\whatever).

  I tried repartitioning earlier, because I wanted to make room for my C: drive D: drive much smaller to create many more. Here are the sizes of partition for each partition on my HARD drive:

  • 100 MB (OEM Partition)
  • 9.77 GB (recovery Partition)
  • 58,59 GB (C:, OS, 6,49 GB drive left... not enough for me to copy it to my iTunes songs about library 1 200 on it from my old netbook)
  • 229.63 GB (D: drive, too much for my tastes here)

  I wouldn't mind if I ended up having to save my D: drive format before that, but I don't know how useful it would be.

  Your system is too complicated. If you implement it then it'll keep you causing pain. Much better to keep things simple as follows:

  • Move the 'My pictures' folder on the D: drive.
  • Move the 'My music' folder on the D: drive.
  • Let your profiles on the C: drive.
  • Let the program files on drive C:, if only because many setup programs will create their files in "C:\Program Files (x 86)" instead of using the % ProgramFiles (x 86) % as they should.

  This approach will free a lot of space on the C: drive. It will also allow you to put your iTunes library on the D: drive.
  A few comments on your batch file:
  GoTo EOF

  ': EOF ' is a built-in label that references at the end of the batch file. You jump to it as follows: goto: eof. Have a line of the form

  The "cmd" line is not necessary and will have unexpected side effects. Get rid of it.

  Make a folder on the drive, something like C:\Pictures and then right-click > properties > Security and make sure that the user has full control

  Scopes analytical models are user specific, although I think that that has changed after that some released in the series 9.x. Hyperion, at one point had a utility that allows you to copy the template from one user to another, but I don't know if that still exists. It may just be easier to have users to recreate it in the short term since it is really just a problem of selection of metadata.
