How to speed up a slow computer?

My computer is very slow in all operations and freezes frequently. Y at - it an effective solution, I use other than the stuff advertised on TV. I have Microsoft Security, SuperAntiSpyware, and Comodo Firewall running and that they indicate no viruses present in the system. I delete cookies and regularly perform a disk cleanup. I would appreciate help in this case.

Vince DiSessa.

You do not buy anything that is announced and claimed to "SpeedUpYour PC" or one of the free web offers. There is no such magic software.

Running several utilities for analysis in real time will cause an overload of the system, there is no need to use a third party firewall the built-in firewall of victory is adequate.

How much free space is on the drive to victory?

If you clean start the PC http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 how does perform then?

  • How can I solve the problem of slow computer or what nested steps I need to take more things that I mention below to slow computer speed?

    Hello

I know that for your computer to start faster, you can disable in msconfig certain applications or auto-start services

I also know that to make your computer faster to do a virtual and half larger than the memory size, more you will need to start it and the value of the same size virtual memory, for example start value 3000 end value3000.

I know also some malicious spyware can slow down your computer.

In addition, you can add more memory to mke your computer more fast, your drive hard must be empty of 25%.

In addition to these things I mentioned before nested thing wat do I check to solve the problem of slow computer?

    can you give me some?

    Thank you

The size of the virtual memory required will depend on the type of requests and is influenced by the installed physical memory. The 1.5 times value really applies to computers with a limited amount of ram and the use of virtual will decrease with an increase in physical (but remove never virtual memory altogether) while Shawn says investigate fitting over RAM.

Setting the pagefile identical to max and min values will reduce fragmentation but was so moving to a less actively used by car.

How to speed up my signal for Auntie plu photon strength? My net is too slow & very dull.

    Hi shilpadarbar,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Communities. From your problem description, I understand that the internet connection is slow. Before you start the troubleshooting steps, I need the required information:

    ·         You get the error message?

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

Follow these methods to the problem of slow internet connectivity.

    Method 1: Follow these steps:

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode with network and check if the problem persists.

Step 2: If the problem does not persist in safe mode with networking, perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the section How to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state from the link to start the computer to a Normal startupmode.

After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    (a) click Start, run.

    (b) type msconfigand click OK.

    (c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    (d) click the general tab, click Normal startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

    (e) when you are prompted, click restart to restart the computer.

Method 2: Temporarily disable the security software.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 3: Follow the steps in the article.

  • Help! Can you help me solve a slow computer? Add RAM?

I know I asked something about this before, but it has not resolved. Let me give some details of my PC a few months ago I put in my profile on this site:

MotionLE1600tablet, Windows XP has been installed own Sept 2010, Office 2003, IE 8, update drivers & programs, Security Essentials, SyncBack SE sync my Docs with my DELL 915 - desktop PC, on my shelf programs include: Seagate Mgr BU, cCleaner, Defraggler, AdvdX Video Converter, routed Brother 7820 w / Paperport & 2700 color laser printer, the active Agent for Outlook, MS ActiveSync, Format Factory Bluetooth, REVO Uninstaller, Paint Shop Pro, Adobe Acrobat, Acronis True Image home, Advanced X Video Convert,
From AoA Audio, ISO, Time Warner cable high speed internet, MalwareBytes AM

So my question: this Tablet PC seems to sometimes just stop responding while using IE and trying to enter text or something else. When that happens, I can't even start with a Ctrl-Alt-Del Task Manager. It seems to ignore this and cannot do anything. I can't click on start or anything like that. So, I just finally quit and force a reboot in now the switch for a few seconds.

Other signs of a problem are that sometimes this PC will take up VERY much time to start, but sometimes it starts very well.

I tried to note or to explore if there could be some activity going on in the background that uses up all of the RAM (or anything... I don't know that a lot of this stuff) and I don't think that's the problem. But I'm ready to explore that if anyone could tell me how the Explorer!

I have a few processes requiring low RAM they are running in the background for backup and changes to my Docs and they are saved on my hard drive MAXTOR One Touch USB. I also have a program called SyncBack SE that synchronizes the my Docs about this Tablet PC with those on my Dell 9150 desktop PC. All this is at home, and my tablet is never off the hook or taken anywhere. I probably just another desktop PC, since this is how it is used. I have always just sitting it here on its charging base with an external monitor, keyboard, mouse, Iomega CD/DVD-RW and MAXTOR backup hard drive hooked up to it. And it is connected to my range of colour laser printers and also my all-in-one scanner/printer/fax/copier running Paperport for scanning.

In addition, I have add the maximum RAM in this PC recently to try to help him with this problem, but it did not disappear. He of course helped it work better. I had max RAM to www.memoryx.net/mocolectapcm.html and if you look at this page, you will see that I now have 1.5 GB which was not recognized automatically, as I thought it would be, so someone on this site taught me to solve this problem.

So, my thought was that there is an intermittent failure was. But of course, I don't have any extra of $ just to send my tablet PC manufacturer that I bought NEW a few years ago. Mine is a LE1600 and now they show their new LE1700 to http://www.motioncomputing.com/support/support_le1700.asp. I had a serious accident a few years ago on someone's motorcycle MX and became disabled for life, and the franchise of real estate brokerage of Exit Realty I had built just after buying a franchise had to be closed. If the problem does not persist in mode safe mode with networking mode, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

  • Sync speed seems abnormally slow... is there a solution?

I use the 4 GB Sansa Fuze, Firmware version V02.03.33A and WMP version 11.0.6002.18111 in Windows Vista. I'm also using a SanDisk Micro SDHC card 16 GB, which is where I store all my music, because apparently you can't make playlists that incorporate songs at the same time the reader and the card.

At this moment I have about 2 800 songs that I put on the player, which takes up about 9 GB. I have about 8 different selections that I use, I like to update from time to time. The problem is, this literally takes 8 to 10 hours, which seems unusually slow. MP3 player plus I used to accomplish this in about 3 hours. I often make new playlists, but this is simply too long. I tried all the USB ports on my computer.

(It takes at least 10 minutes to refresh the device once the synchronization is complete.)

I already tried the MSC mode but also drag and drop files directly to the drive in Auto Mode, which allows me to put the songs faster but will not let me add playlists. Any suggestions on how to speed the process while using WMP?

    Thank you!

WMP is probably slow you down while he thinks about things, and 9GB is plenty to think about.

You can use a different music library software that makes reading lists, like Media Monkey

    or Winamp.

You must add the full lame_enc.dll (Google it) media monkey because its mp3 encoder expires. Winamp wants to pay for mp3 Ripper. If you want to rip your albums elsewhere and use Winamp to playlisting.

I think that both make .m3u playlists, working in MSC mode.

You can also use the MSC mode and create your own playlists .m3u (with, for example, YAPL ) instead of WMP .pla playlists.

You can use mp3tag to make playlists.

In fact, I would say through all your albums of mp3tag after setting to its default value (Tools/Options/Tags/Mpeg/write) to ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1.

Just open the album in mp3tag, highlight all the files and save.

WMP or the "rocket" can be slowed down (or off) by other versions of tags.

There are also other programs playlisting autour. But no matter how you slice it, 9 GB will take a long time.

  • Slow computer, with a lot of not Respondings

All of a sudden I feel some very slow computer operation, randomly, but occurring essentially (like big breaks when you type this note while I couldn't type - several times).  This is just an example - here's more:

-take several seconds (sometimes 10-15 seconds) to appear in the email preview pane

-take 10-15 seconds for a PDF file is displayed after double-clicking

-sometimes for 10 to 15 seconds to close a window

-sometimes 10 to 15 seconds when you click homepage, folders, display, count tabs on Windows Live Mail

-also 10 to 15 seconds discovers a photo after double clicking on a jpeg image file

-delays when you type in the search for box

-sometimes very slow loading of programs (and most of the cases above have to do with something loading)

-(don't know for the sake of typing (i.e. of the breaks in the middle of a line)

-Many do not respond (IE 10.0, Live Mail, Windows Explorer, Adobe Reader, almost everywhere)

I got these things in the past, but only very rarely (not more than a few times a day, if that), but now they are chronic (but random) - like constantly for a few minutes and then they clear up for a few minutes.  For these last days, they have been more frequent in the late afternoon or early evening, when I'm more active on the computer.

In fact, they are so bad that occasionally they make my computer almost unusable.

I ran Malewarebytes and a Microsoft Security Essentials - no virus scan.  I have delete just maybe 20,000 electronic messages in the Live Mail folder deleted, but that did not help.  I have just some time he put a floor fan extra on the computer where there is a kind of heat problem (the House temperature is in the high 70 years), but tht didn't help either (at least so far).

I have published the Task Manager and have been watching process CPU usage (on my 2nd screen).  Most of the time is to be spent in the system idle process - and you know how he flashes every second or so (when he's done things), sometimes when things were locked u (frozen, whatever), the display of the process seems to have stopped for several seconds - as she did not answer either.

Can you offer any help or advice.  As I said, sometimes the system is pretty unusable.  And randomly.  I got 3 messages "(Microsoft.com ne répond ne pas de) when typing the 1st paragraph of this note, but have not had any problems since."

Can it be a heat problem, graphics problem or something like that - because it seems to stretch across everything I do.

Dell, XPS, 1.5 years, 300 GB of free space, 16 GB system memory, Windows 7 with 2 monitors.

    ===========================================

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded: run DriverView - define the VIEW
for the drivers Microsoft hide - updated those without drain in their names. (Also updated
    the BIOS and chipset drivers.)

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods above
It is preferable to ensure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

Stop Windows 7 to automatically install device drivers
    http://helpdeskgeek.com/Windows-7/stop-Windows-7-from-automatically-installing-device-drivers/

Turn off Windows Update Device Driver search prompt in Windows 7 / Vista (for the professional, full and Enterprise edition)
    http://www.AddictiveTips.com/Windows-tips/disable-Windows-Update-device-driver-search-prompt/

    ===========================================

Refer to these discussions because many more excellent advice however don't forget to check your antivirus
programs, the main drivers and BIOS update and also solve the problems with the cleanboot method
    first.
