How to transfer Windows 7 Professional to new computer running Windows 7 Edition Home Premium?
WE HAVE CURRENTLY USING WINDOWS 7 PROFESSIONAL. WE BOUGHT A NEW COMPUTER AND NEED TO TRANSFER THE WINDOWS 7 ON NEW OLD COMPUTER WILL NOT BE USED. THE NEW MACHINE IS CURRENTLY RUNNING WINDOWS 7 HOME. WE CAN NOT FIND THE DISK AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT WE MUST DO TO TRANSFER WINDOWS PROFESSIONAL. THE DISCS ARE SOLD FOR $200.00 AT THE STORE, BUT SINCE WE USE IT ALREADY, I THOUGHT, HE COULD BE TRANSFERRED?
It is a copy of the retail of Windows 7 Professional store bought? If so, you can try to recover the product key and make an Express upgrade on the new machine:
Here are four utilities, which can display your product keys if they are still there:
Belarc Advisor: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
(He did a good job of providing a wealth of information.)
Also: http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml
and: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html
and RockXP: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4138.html which has additional features.
If Windows 7 Professional came preloaded on the old machine you cannot upload it:
The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:
-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft
-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on
-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard
-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system
If the license for Windows 7 Professional, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade to Windows 7 Edition Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Professional on demand, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify you updating the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional your files, programs and settings retained.

I just bought a new computer running Windows 7 Edition Home Premium with an upgrade to windows 7 Pro. I have the PIN # for the upgrade, but I can't get the site to come www.windows7.com/get key. How to pass?
If your PIN does not work, try the following:
1. check that the PIN has been entered correctly. PIN code is not case sensitive and is alpha-numeric.
2. make sure that the PIN has not already been used to obtain a product key. A PIN can be used only once to get a product key. If the PIN has been used, you can connect to your account with your Windows Live ID (if you have it when the PIN has been entered) to access your product key or you can check your email for the confirmation e-mail, that you have received when the PIN has been consumed to access your product key.

I have Windows 7 Edition home premium installed 32-bit update. How can I upgrade to 64-bit? Will there be problems of validation so I re-install from scratch?
If you have purchased a retail package, it should include the disk for Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Otherwise, you can download a backup copy at the following link and use the same product key that allows you to enable the 32-bit version. Its a possibility, you may need to reactivate by phone, see below for instructions:
You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.
Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.
Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

I want to restore my hp desktop computer that is running windows vista edition Home premium, but I don't have the cd and when I try it files through the windows there not a correct restore date. can someone help me?
Hello
You're confused system recovery and system restore.
System Restore makes the settings from your computer to an earlier date; It will not reinstall the operating system.
System recovery reinstalls the operating system how much you bought your machine; as for the new State.

You can reinstall by the HP Recovery Manager if your computer is still running or by pressing F11 at startup.
You can also make your own recovery discs.

Original title: guest for Windows 7 Home Premium account
Hi all
I would like to aid which has had to face the problem below and how it was fixed.
I have Window 7 Edition home premium and created a guest account with normal privileges that is turned on but cannot access with the error "Windows could not connect to the Group Policy client service" I think that the main problem is related to a policy because when put on the account to administer it in pop, error message says 'Cannot connect to a windows service' Please check group policy log.
Thank you very much in advance
Hello
Thank you for your time and effort to get back to us, and I apologize for the delay in responding.
Method 1 step number d makes reference to the present Details tab on the event viewer, where you can get the details of the error. First, search for the error which will be something like Windows cannot process extension Client Strategy Group-side and click on the error and then click the Details tab and make a note of the GUID (Globally Unique Identifier) for the extension defective client-side. For reference, see the screenshot:
Now come to step f number , it indicates the location of the Group Policy Extensions so that you can check if the extensions shown in the case log and the Registry Editor extension have a difference. The path of the GPExtension is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\GPExtensions. For reference, see the screenshot:
Let us know if the steps are clear to understand now. If this isn't the case, we will be happy to help you further.
Thank you.

Hello
Yes
You can upgrade from Vista Home Premium 32-bit to Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit or 64 bit to 64 bit; but not from 32 bit to 64 bit or 64 bit to 32 bit
Before purchasing Windows 7, follow these steps:
Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.
If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Windows Vista Edition Home Premium 32-bit to Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Hello, I bought windows 7 Professional and received a disc OEM from DELL, I have Vista Edition home premium on an HP, what are my chances to do this upgrade.
I inserted the CD and I got the following error message "the version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows you are using.I tried to get rid of a download on the computer and still the same.I also have a problem with the product key that small cutting with the key has been damage and some numbers where not readable. but so far that has not been a problem as I have not that many but I want to be readyChrisContact the person who sold it to your and get a replacement or Exchange CD-ROM.
There is no place on the way to upgrade 32-bit versions of Windows to Windows 7 64 bit. You will need to do a custom installation.
Reinstall the necessary
Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
Click Install now
Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.
You will receive the following warning:
The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.
(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK
The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.
Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.
You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.
