    Okie dokie.

Well I dug on the web and found someone with the same problem, and they said that when they have disabled "McAfee VirusScan 8.5 Access Protection", this error has disappeared. If this applies to you, give it a whirl if you wish.

But the best support that I found came from this website: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/838687. The jist of it is (trying to fix it yourself):
Fix it myself to fix this problem yourself, follow these steps:

    1. Log the computer by using an administrator user account.
    2. Start Microsoft Windows Explorer.
    3. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
    4. Click the view tab.
    5. Under hidden files and folders, click Show hidden folders and files.
    6. Clear the Hide extensions for known file types check box, and then click OK.
    7. Open the following folder: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Data\
    8. If you are running Office 2003, right-click Opa11.dat, and then click Properties. If you are running Office XP, right-click Data.dat, and then click Properties.
    9. Click the Security tab.
    10. Click Advanced.
    11. Click the permissions tab.
    12. Click to select everyone in the list entered permissions and then click change.
    13. Click to select the full control check box.
    14. Click OK three times. If these steps do not resolve this issue, delete the Opa11.dat file or the Data.dat file in the following folder and then restart an Office 2003 program or an Office XP program:
      C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Data

I have several screenshots of the question.
become issues when in citrix, you try to run a report FRS of the workspace in excel.

First, they get a login window of windows looking for credentials from a user name and a password.

    Third mistake:

  • To open this workbook, your computer must have a version of Microsoft Excel is installed and your Web browser must support opening files directly from Excel in the

Im trying to open an excel file from a shared Web site, I used to be able to open them in Excel, when I used Internet Explorer, now all I see is the spreadsheet on a Web page, when I try to open the file in Excel (there is a tab that asked do you want to open in excel) I get a message "to open this workbook, your computer must have a version of Microsoft Excel is installed and your Web browser. must support opening files directly from Excel in the browser. »

    You have Excel installed?

If so, can you use Internet Explorer for the Web site?

As far as I KNOW, Microsoft is not an add-on for Firefox can be opened from Excel in Firefox. It may or may not work properly depending on whether this Web site uses a MIME type for files it delivers.

Another way to handle that would be via Open Office or free agency; both are open source (free) that allows to display files XLS (Excel) , and both programs have a Mozilla browser plugin to allow Firefox to open the 'Calc' of these programs.

  • Cannot remove Microsoft Excel files in the trash,

I encounter a problem that prevents some Microsoft Excel *.xlsx files (and only *.xls, *.xlsx files not or * type of csv file or other) are deleted from my trash. When I try to empty the trash, I received the following dialog box: the operation cannot be completed because the item "filename.xlsx" is in use.

I confirmed that this problem occurs if Microsoft Excel and other applications of MS Office are running or not, including processes related to the MS in the activity monitor.

I use a MacBook Air (13-inch, early 2015) running OS X 10.11.4 (15E65) updated through 10.11.3 MAS. I use Microsoft Office 2016 15.20 version (and also have MS Office 2011 on my machine).

To determine which process is using the file, I ran the following command in a Terminal: lsof | grep 'filename.xlsx '.

    I received the following results:

    QuickLook 607 4r REG 121780 1.4 /Users/username/testfolder/filename.xlsx 11433557 username

When I check the PID in the activity monitor, the process is still QuickLookSatellite.

I tried to delete the Finder preferences, reset QuickLook and QuickLook caching by using the command line and I manually deleted User/username/Library/Caches/com.apple.QuickLookDaemon. The problem has persisted through several reboots.

Here are some messages I receive in the Console:

04/04/16 9:10:53.663 AM com.apple.xpc.launchd [1]: (com.apple.quicklook [606]) endpoint has been activated through legacy launch (3) API. Please go to XPC or bootstrap_check_in(): com.apple.quicklook

No idea what could be causing this and how do I solve the problem? What is a question of MS Office most likely a bug in the OS? Also, I had downloaded an Excel from a reliable source, but it could be a virus?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If Excel or another process has the file in use, it cannot be emptied from the Recycle Bin until it was abandoned. Ensure that the suspicious applications have actually leave or, if that proves elusive, just restart and then empty the trash.

  • Microsoft Excel

I just bought this laptop computer 14 HP and I forgot to ask if Microsoft excel is installed. I can't find it anywhere. Does this mean I have to buy?

Thank you I could find the free 30 day trial. One last question, I noticed there is a small point on the screen that appears to be blue in color and is visible only when the background is dark. It is as small as this point. Should I resume or is this normal? It will get worse if I don't? It seems that it is something wrong with a pixel, but I am not an expert
