HP Compaq Presario Media Center SR2020NX sound card driver

Had to re - install Windows XP (SP3) on a HP Compaq Presario Media Center SR2020NX, downloaded

Original Realtek High Definition Audio drivers of

http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=228 & LC = on & CC = US & DLC = in & sw_lang = & Product = 32450...

and also download and install Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture High Definition Audio bus driver on the system according to the instructions

Yet the Original Realtek High Definition Audio drivers continues to say that UAA is not installed?

What is the problem?

Thank you

OK, I downloaded the AC97 audio codecs from realtek.com

So ran the KB835221.exe found in the popular thread Re: no sound after changing Vista to XP

http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/desktop-PC-sound-and-audio/no-sound-after-changing-Vista-to-XP/m-p/27615#M295

Running the driver Realtek HD install IT SAYS STILL no UAA, but I clicked on Yes to continue, and this time around the RealTek HD Audio-install wizard kicked in and completed the transaction.

Kudoed, Cheryl G and also found it instructive.

  • HP Compaq Presario Media Center SR2050NX (Pentium D 2.8 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 250 GB HDD)

Hello, the computer I have has the same when I first bought, error messages all the time, very slow, etc.

I got a disk with my computer when I first bought, so I'm not sure how to format and start over. I don't want anyone to try to talk me out of it, it's really nothing important and it's all I have saved and printed licenses (xp, office 2003, avg).  I would like just a way to start over.  I heard that if maufacturers you do not send a disc that came with your computer there is a way to do it on the machine.

Can someone tell me how to format my pc and start this new if possible?

Thank you very much, sorry for not noticing the PIN.

I just do a fresh install of windows xp. I do not have the original restore/driver disk, so I have my XP pro (sp3 w / all updates) running instead of xp home.

I have everything working except the network card, the device displays Manager shows the ethernet like network adapter driver is not installed. I can't for the life of find me the drivers for it. I downloaded and tried every update on the support page and drivers for this model, including the Nvidia nforce chipset drivers (that I expected to have, but he didn't).   I even have the same PC on the internetvia a USB wireless card and tried to find the drivers on windows update automatically (it did not).

The car of network worked with the windows of the factory install before get me the new installation of XP. However I don't have to predict the location of this driver to be a problem.

I searched many forums/sites Web/etc hours and found nothing that works, I can not even a precise idea of who made this particular NIC I'm not a novice at this, it's as simple as not installed... chipset driver but the driver seems to be missing in action.

Can someone help me to find drivers for this chipset (they are NOT on the page of the driver for this machine!)

    Thank you

    Hello

I just tried to driver guide and found the chipset software I was looking for (links and info below), this package contains drivers for audio, ethernet and Smbus controller memory; everything that you need.  I don't know why this isn't on the software/driver download page, but it is not. Hope this helps someone in the future, so you don't need to pull me hair link.

I have a Compaq Presario V2000, I had the hard drive replaced at CompUSA.  The drive is a 250 gig to replace the original HD 40 gig.  When you load the restore of the operating system (Windows XP) disc nothing happens just a note on the ethernet controller and the media test failure then exit ROM PXE.  How to load the operating system.  I follow the procedures on the Web site?

Thank you very much.  After a discussion at CompUSA, they decided to try another HD concert 160 instead of 250. Wallah... OS began the installation of restore disc program.  It is a problem with the new hard drive.

Help a what to do CompUSA actually tech the problem finally.

    Thanks again!

  • Is there a way to know what makes a noise of grinding on my lap? I was told that my sound card driver may be able

    No upgrade

I recently did the upgrade of the driver of the Doc and found things that I didn't exist on my computer, which was given to me by my nephew.  He turns quiet and really did not have any complaints until after that I did the upgrade of the driver of the Doc.  Now, that sounds like a grinding machine.  I was told that when I talked about Facebook, I need to update my sound card driver.  I did a search to see what it means, but I am not prepared to do right now.  Can someone reassure me that it will be an easy fix?

Could be a problem of fan cooling, remove the side cover of the tower and see if you can see or hear the sound is coming from.

My advice would be the same. Certainly, it looks like a fan at the origin of the problem. Fans get older they intermittently can make noise. This would explain why you hear sometimes and not others.

Furthermore, to see if your sound card, causing the noise (which I doubt), just turn off all your speakers when you hear the noise. If the sound stops immediately, it's actually a sound card related question.

There are often several fans inside the computer.  There will be one which is part of the power supply. Sometimes one or more attached to the casing of the computer itself (usually the Panel that you remove the first and one on the front of the case.)  There will probably be one on top of the CPU (central processing unit), as well as on the video card.

Not recommended advice (which I did before) - gently tap on the center of the fan that you suspect is making noise. Jiggleling it will sometimes make noise to stop. In this case, you know which fan needs to be replaced.

Even worse advice (which I also done before) - take a small piece of wood (for example, a 1/4-inch dowel rod) and insert slowly into the fan to keep it from turning. If the noise stops, you have found the fan that needs to be replaced. Remove the stick to regularize quickly because he will always try to run and we don't want it burn.

If you can't find that a fan is causing trouble you want to replace as soon as possible because it will eventually stop working and cause one or more components in your computer to overheat.

  • No sound from speakers after updating sound card driver

    Hello

I recently had problems with my Dell Inspiron 9400/E1705 (vista 32-bit windows operating system). I couldn't get a USB microphone to work and I decided to update the sound card driver. I downloaded and updated what I thought, it was the right driver (sigmatel high definition audio codec) and since there is no sound from speakers. I followed the guide from Dell troubleshooting and disconnect any external devices and then click right click the mixer volume in the system tray, and then clicked on "open volume Mixer" and I get the message: no audio device installed. I went to the control panel to check the sound card driver and he told me that the codec sigmatel high definition audio works well and he has not updated. I unfortunately can't restore the system that system restore installation in my computer stopped working awhile (even when I start windows in safe mode) so I'm stuck. I think that I have installed the wrong driver for the sound card but don't find it not easy to understand which driver to search the dell support center. It seems that the audio card is called something like "HDAUDIO\func01_ & FRI etc. looks Chinese to me. Could someone help? I would be very grateful

    Hello

Recently, I uninstalled a program and my sound card driver has been uninstalled with it

I'm running the Qosmio F10 with Windows XP.

I have the file to reinstall the diver in the Toshiba page but when I try to install I get the error "driver is not found.

    Thanks in advance

The European Toshiba driver page provides audio driver for XP and at this time, it s a 5.12.0.1.5160 version of Analog Devices Inc.

You must download, unpack and then run the installation exe.

If it doesn't work then remove the sound card in Device Manager, reboot the laptop and check again.

  • HP Media Center m7160n, sound from desktop PC

HP Media Center m7160n desktop PC

Widows XP - 32 (Media Center Edition)

    Updated the video graphics card.

After I updated my graphics card were the software drivers for her multimedia sound included.

After talking with a technical support with AMD (graphics card is the Radeon HD 6450), and technical support said that it has replaced the old sound drivers because I have my speakers hooked up to the main CPU and not somehow in the graphics card itself.

That I needed to update my drivers of his old man so he could run sound through the main processor.

    Help, please...

Here you can find the audio driver:

But maybe it helps to first check the BIOS.
HDMI graphics cards settings to disable onboard sound (because the sound is offered inside hdmi then).
Check the BIOS if it is enabled.

    Thanks for the info, rabjhop.
As I suspected, the weak link is your graphics card integrated - GMA910GL of Intel is not enough juice (nor has it required WDDM WHQL certified drivers) to properly support DirectX (or a few other things) entirely in hardware (not on Vista or Win7.)  Even the GMA950 chip had problems in Media Center (go all the way back to Media Center 2005); the minimum that worked really really - still - is the GMA x 3000.
In other words, you need a graphics card.  But you don't have to spend a lot of money - a PCIe card decent (assuming you have a PCIe x 16 location) can be made for<>

I have not assumed that you could pop the cover off the PC and see what (if any) you have at disposal a graphic slot, could you?
    Here's what you're looking for:
PCI Express: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PCIExpress.jpg see the long slots?  Those who are 16 x.  No the difference (you can tell by the location of the key in the notch) to what follows.
    AGP slot: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:AGP_slot.jpg
In the two photos, the mount is on your left.

    Kind regards
