HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC: Intel Turbo Boost-Overcloacking

I want HP notebook pc with intel core i7 proccessor 4700mq and I want to know how enabled turbo boost?

Can I overclock the proccessor frequency max?

Turbo boost is activated just unless disabled in the BIOS. There is no way to overclock your laptop. You can install this little app to track the Turbo and be sure it works:

    Hello

I have a HP Envy 15 laptop 3040nr with an Intel Core i7-2670qm processor clocked at 2.2 GHz I had done a clean install of Windows 7 WITHOUT the retail disk, and so I had to re-download all the drivers I needed for my laptop again.

Also, I tried to install the Intel Turbo Boost monitor on my computer, but it displays a message saying that my processor is not taken in charge, when in fact my processor is able to carry to speeds of up to 3.1 GHz.

    Any tips?

Click the Start button, type msconfig in the search bar, and then press ENTER, then click on start, advanced options and uncheck the number of processors and the memory limit.

    Hello

My HP Envy 15 - 3040nr has an Intel i7-2670QM processor, which works very well with Turbo Boost technology. My laptop goes to a maximum of 3.0 GHz under full load (I give heavy gameplay videos) and is Underclocks do very well when it is in power saving mode.

However, I would like to know if it is possible to LOCK the clock frequency of the processor to a constantly high rate, say, something like 2.9 (or somewhat realistic 3.1 GHz, the high nominal turbo) GHz, assuming that the heat is not a problem (Yes, it obviously is going to be a problem, but say that it is not).

    In the single word NO,.

    Hello!

When I try to install HP drivers & driver Intel Turbo Boost Technology from the solution page I get this error: this computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software.

Can you help me with the solution how to fix this? Before I changed my operating system from Windows 7 Professional (64 bit) - English to Windows 7 Professional (64 bit) - Slovenian, I had no problem.

    Sorry for my bad English.

    Kind regards

    Dragan

    dmarinov,

Short answer is that you need not the driver.  The pilot is planned for notebook computers using the same processor but the only Integrated GPU.  Given that your PC has to a discrete GPU (ATI), the pilot of the CTA is unnecessary.

It is not a driver of criticism, as long as TB works I worry install latest.

Some processors do not use the pilot of TB, it's inheriting in the processor itself.

  • Satellite A660 - 11 M - limitation Intel Turbo Boost with i7-720qm

Hi all, I probably have or I guess to have a problem with Intel Turbo Boost technology (on the follow-up to ITBT) on my CPU (an Intel i7-720qm):
    # In my device manager does not appear a device called Intel Turbo Boost Technology driver, so I can't install the driver, but it's a minor problem because the technology seems to work in all cases.
    # If I run SuperPI (http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/366/Super_PI_Mod_v1.5.html-) (and only this application) and check the functionality of the ITBT with Intel Turbo Boost Technology Monitor (ITBTM) gadget (strOSs = http://downloadcenter.intel.com/confirm.aspx?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/19105/eng/TurboBoostSetup.exe&agr=&ProductID=&DwnldId=19105& & OSFullName = & lang = fre------), then I an oscillation between the value of 2.40 GHz and 2.80 GHz (even if this frequency is rarely reached) and does not stay in the maximum frequency , i.e. to 2.80 GHz. So my question is: is this limitation? or rather is normal operation for a processor of this class (I've never had a Core i7 CPu before and I don't understand if the ITBT works normally)
    Thanks in advance! ;)

    Hello

The CPU can only operate at full speed if only one Core/Thread is up.

If you run a program that uses multiple cores/threads at the same time, the CPU runs at full speed, for thermal reasons.

Turbo mode is good for gaming because most of the games only use one core/thread.

  • Satellite L655-11J - disabling Intel Turbo Boost Technology for heat

My temp Satellite L655-11J used to be under full load of cpu 75 now, it's about 80 ~ 85 maybe because of the heat wave, I don't know

I disabled the Intel Turbo Boost technology and its high value at full load is now about 68 ~ 69 and the laptop is not hot at all, and I did not notice a difference in performance, so you should try it if your laptop gets hot

My question is there utility to disable through windows?

    null

    > My question is there utility to disable through windows?

Usually, this must be done in the BIOS.
But as far as I know Toshiba offer a tool called Toshiba HWSetup located in all programs-> Toshiba.
This software allows you to change some settings in the BIOS Windows System.

I m not very good if you the Intel Turbo Boost Technology options are available in the HWSetup utility, but you can check it otherwise you will have to change the settings in the BIOS

  • Why no Intel Turbo Boost only downloads for laptop Lenovo?

How is manfucaturers all include a copy of the Intel Turbo Boost their section of downloads of drivers, but Lenovo is not?

Is - this crucuial of CPU overclock properly? I mean, it also contains some kind of pilot in addition to monitoring app or what?

Intel turbo boost is activated and functional on y570. From what I noticed, in heat mode there is always enanbled until the CPU reaches 90 degrees, then it turns off for a minute or two and who returns usually CPU/GPU to 80-84 and then re-active again (it starts no limitation, it disables only turbo). IMO, it's quite reasonable behavior, 90 degrees is not too high temperatures for these CPU/GPU. If you wish, you can monitor cpu temps/multipliers/freqs, through many utilities, I use hwinfo32 for her.
About drivers - as far as I know windows/macOS, I think, support for linux intel turbo boost out of the box, so I don't think that all drivers are needed to fight against it.

Edit: it seems that I was right. A little more info on turbo boost . The first paragraph explains that no additional drivers will be required for all major OS.

Hello milleras377, your specifications show the system provided with the Intel i7 2600.

Here is the link for the specifications of this processor.

The stock for this processor speed is 3.4 GHz, and Turbo Boost speed is 3.8 GHz.

Normally, these Turbo speeds are enabled in the BIOS, and the BIOS of HP would not be a section to see this

The link also shows that this processor the Intel Turbo Boost Technology Version 2. Therefore, it seems that you have the latest version of the Turbo Boost.

Here is a link that has additional information on the Intel Turbo Boost Version 2. Increase your volume for audio.

  • What exactly means 2.20 GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost 3,20 GHz technology medium?

What is technology Intel turbo boost? Up to 3.2 GHz dependent on the program? Or is it a manual adjustment or over the clock face?

Turbo Boost is essentially automatic overclock the CPU depending on the processing power required by a program. Suppose you run a program that requires CPU moderate maximum processing power, then the OS will tell the CPU to be in her performance C0 State and would use Turbo Boost or just run at its normal speed 2.2 GHz according to the temperature of the processor, power supply and CPU demand plan schema of the program. In addition, more than hearts are loaded, the less thrust GHz you get because of the power and thermal constraints. There is no direct control on Turbo Boost, but you can disable it by selecting 'save energy' in the Windows power options.

To see Turbo thrust in real time, you can download the Intel's Turbo Boost monitor.

    Hello @amwilson ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that the graphics card is an error Code 43 Device Manager. I'll do my best to help you! In general, this error indicates that certain functions of the device doesn't have, which means it could be a hardware problem.

To resolve this problem, follow all the steps in this document to Microsoft: Code 43: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems

If these steps do not work, I would contact HP support by phone using equipment. You can use this Web site for information about how to contact HP properly, based on your region: Contact HP worldwide

  • Driver Intel Turbo Boost Technology (taken from HP's Support site)

    Hello Forum members!

OK, so roll with me here! I have a HP G62-149WM I upgraded to it is (out of the box) Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit for Windows 8.1 Pro 64 Bit... Then I went into page HP driver download to install the Turbo Boost driver well, as you know, it basically requires you to type in your model, you choose what operating system runs your make and model, and then it shows all the different drivers, right? So my question now is because it does not show 8.1 Windows as an operating system option, the Turbo Boost driver always works on my 8.1 win even if it was made on a technical level to work on Win 7? Thank you in advance for your time and your help in this matter!

    Ron

    Hello @ronnieron ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

Unfortunately, this has not appeared to get coverage Windows 8.1 with respect to the drivers. You can try to install the Windows 7 driver, which might work, but it probably does not work well, or not at all.

Here's the driver page, in case it becomes necessary: Drivers of laptop HP G62-149WM

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you!
