HP envy m6-k010dx upgrade question

Ive met recently pages on AMD XGP and I am very interested in the potential to make my phone able to cope with new games that wouldn't run acceptable fps on my laptop, for those of you who read this and do not know what it is here is the link: http://www.amd.com/us/products/technologies/ati-xgp/Pages/ati-xgp.aspx ... I was wondering since my laptop does not have a PCI-E slot If I could possibly send to HP and have install them a slot PCI-E for me so I could still keep my warranty and be able to connect to the XGP or other external GPU track. I don't know if HP offers these services to upgrade hardware, but it would be the best way to go since im not very well informed about the modifieing material which is "hard wired" to the pc itself, the only experience I have with the material is simple pop out pop in workstations. and HP offer any material performance upgrading at all, like the CPU, GPU or RAM?

HP does not upgrade the services it's a no-go.

Yours is a stylish book. Any change of the case to provide an external PCI-e 2.0 connection will violate the guarantee of your sleekbook.

  • HP Envy m6-k010dx: downgrade Windows 7?

    Hi all

I'm buying the computer HP laptop above, Envy m6-k010dx. I have a HP Elitebook 8540w, which I like very much. I run Win. 7 pro. Now, the seller (eBay) that I bought the other from, misled me. I was under the impression it was a 3rd generation of Intel core i5. Is it: an AMD Quad core A - 105745 m and win running. 8. This HP laptop can be downgraded to run Win. 7 if I get the factory set w drivers drive? He told me it was okay. I doubt, however, because of the misinformation of the CPU. I'd appreciate any help that anyone can give! Thank you!

    Hello:

HP does not support this model with W7 64 bit drivers.

A lot of people can't even W7 to install on models equipped with the same way.

You must get some of the drivers of other laptops with similar equipment and chipset drivers and graphics from AMD.

No. 100% guarantee that everything will work perfectly well W7 running.

I have an upgrade question. I received a notification when I connected my computer to the internet that Lightroom 5.7.1 was available had merge to HDR & Panoramic photos. I can't find these. Where can I find them.

It is unfortunate that Adobe has chosen to use the "update" in the notice inside LR 5. It is not an "update". It is an 'upgrade '. Thus, you pay if you want. Also as usual, Adobe directs clients to the CC solution and makes it hard to find perpetual license option.

  • HP ENVY Notebook m6-1105dx: question to DDR3L DDR3 memory upgrade

I have a laptop of HP ENVY m6-1105dx.

    I would like to upgrade from 1.5V to DDR3L 1.35v DDR3.

Is this possible without damage to my laptop?

    Thank you

    Joan

The upgrades only to memory that can be made to your laptop is installation of memory modules that are guaranteed compatible by a manufacturer of memory.

Your laptop is not like a mother gaming for a desktop computer. You are limited to the settings "protect me from myself" available in your BIOS. You cannot change the tension of memory to allow the motherboard to accept other modules of memory. Installation of memory with others that the specifications published by HP or other than guaranteed compatible memory modules will probably reward you with no experience to have fun a non laptop startup.

That said, I recommend you do a search on google for HP ENVY m6-1105dx memory upgrade. Stick with well-known brands to avoid surprises.

  • HP ENVY 17 t-j100 storage upgrade Question

    Hi all

Looking at the 17 t-j100 with these specifications. On sale for July 4 at a nice price. My only hesitation is not being sure what upgrades of storage are simple, feasible and cost-effective in this configuration.

    Data sheet:

    Hello

1 SSD is cheap worm now. I don't know why many providers still put new machines with HARD 5400 RPM disk. I bought a 960 GB SSD from Crucial for less than $500. It is very good but not the best in terms of price/performance,

    2. 16 GB is the way we go with more graphic work,

    3. cloning is the best option, it will save a lot of time from top to bottom. Pay about $15 more you can get a package of Crucial and it works very well. There are a few free products of cloning:

  • HP Envy 13-d001no: upgrade SSD on a new HP Envy 13 m2

    Hello!

I just got my HP Envy 13-d001no. As I expected I really enjoy them until now, but I am interested the upgrade to a faster SSD with more storage on this subject. I'm looking at two different drives, namely the Samsung 850 EVO m2 and the Samsung PRO 950 m2. Both drives are m2 (2280) form factor, but they differ in that the EVO 850 uses a SATA 6.0 Gbit/s-interface while the PRO 950 has a PCIe interface.

I am not fully aware of the differences between these interfaces. I know that PCIe allows faster speeds, but they are both compatible with the new HP Envy 13? I find anywhere which interface is the exact shape of the SSD factor currently installed and I don't want to take the risk of buying a new drive only for him is not to adapt or not to work on the laptop.

According to the HP ENVY laptop (model numbers used: 13-d000 through 13-d099)-Maintenance and Service Guide of, this model supports the following:

    SSD drive
    Serial ATA M2 storage
Support for the following SSD drive configurations:
512 MB M2, SATA-3, support triple cell level (TLC)
    256 MB M2, SATA-3, support the TLC
    128 MB, M2, SATA-3, support the TLC
    128 MB, M2.2280, SATA-3

On this basis, it would seem that the Samsung 850 EVO m2 is the correct upgrade for your computer.

  • Envy 15 t: upgrade memory and hard drive HP ENVY 15t

Hi guys, I just bought the HP Envy 15 not touch t (ae100) with the following characteristics:

-CPU & graphics: 6th generation Intel Core i7-6700HQ Quad Core processor + Intel HD Graphics 530

    -Memory: 8 GB DDR3L - 1 DIMM

-Hard drive: 1 TB 5400 RPM hard drive

I have a few questions about it. First of all, my laptop doesn't have a vacant unit of m2 where I can insert an SSD and if not a SATA 3 2.5-inch SSD fits instead of the hard disk without additional fixing or need support.

Second, is there an empty memory slot to insert a 8 GB of additional ram.

Any kind of assistance will be extremely useful and thanks in advance.

No crack m2. From the Manual:

Only dedicated support of storage SATA m2 (Port 0) (models with i7 processors and 4 GB memory graphics)

So if you have Intel HD video only you do not have a slot m2.

Here's the manual for your use:

    Repair manuals

Yes on the memory 8 GB 2d module:

Both not accessible/upgradable module DDR3L-1600 slots double channel memory support 16 GB of RAM in the following conƭgurations ● 16384-Mo (8192 MB × 2)

Access to the memory and hard drive are obtained by removing the lower cover. Technically this is not allowed to the end user if security is jeopardized.

A standard 2.5 inch SATA SSD to integrate perfectly in the original hardware for hard disk 5400 RPM. It is a highly recommended update. The 16 GB of RAM not so much, but it's one of those things "might as well" If you are determined to go there.

  • New model: HP Envy 15 t Upgrade HD SSD or mSATA SSD?

    Hi all

I read several threads on the upgrade of the disk for SSD and it seems that everyone else has managed to do.  My question is, is there an advantage to upgrade to an SSD HARD drive or simply add in mSATA SSD?  I currently have a network drive that contains most of my data such as music, photos and videos, so I don't think that I need more capacity on my hard drive.  That being said, I had planned on buying an SSD of 256 / 240GB, it's just a question of which one get? a regular SSD or mSATA SSD?  Thoughts?  Comments?  Concerns?

    Mike Lee

on a side note: I envy 15 new t... I really wish that they would have changed the name of the template to something completely different because the prefix is the same as their old model... stupid...

Get a 2.5 inch SATA SSD ordinary. Very slightly slower than a WSSD but still much faster than anything else. Try to configure the WSSD as boot drive is a huge problem.

  • SSD upgrade question

I got this is the section of the BONE. Perhaps this is the right place *.

Hello, I bought recently for a M7-J078CA from HP. The specs are all good for what I need, except I'm not too happy with the 1 TB drive 5400 RPM. However all in all with the rest of my needs, it's a fair trade off the coast compared to the other available models. It's my 5 HP and I love them.

My question is, if I had to buy an SSD to replace the current drive, will be factory installed HP OS work properly on it? I remember years ago that try on a desktop computer and the recovery disks do not recognize the HARD drive, so would not install the OS thinking that it was another computer. I want to upgrade to an SSD for my OS and games load and run faster.

Second, if it is possible, it would be as simple as removing the 1 TB drive current, installation of the SSD and then start with the recovery discs? Or should I install the second disc in the Bay of alternatives and try to install the OS in this way?

I then format the 1 TB drive and use it as a secondary storage only

    Hello again iEvermore,

To answer your question, yes the DVD will work without the operating system and HARD drive. As for putting in the SSD that I provide you with support documents to both HP. This document will explain how to put in and configure the SSD. I am also including the paper Support HP HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC HP ENVY TouchSmart m7 Notebook PC HP ENVY 17 Notebook computer Touchsmart Maintenance and Service of Guide which if you reference page 2 & 3, you'll see the following information for the HDD and SSD support.

    Customer-accessible Serial ATA

    Supports the following drives:
    ● 1 TB 5400 RPM, 9.5 mm
    ● 750 GB 5400 RPM 9.5 mm
    ● 500 GB 5400 RPM 9.5 mm and 7.0 mm

    Configurations to two hard disks:
    ● 2 TB: (1 TB 5400 RPM x 2)
    ● 1500GO: (750 GB 5400 RPM x 2)

SSD drive only configured with up to 8 GB system memory:
    ● 32 GB mSATA (some models only)
    ● 24 - GB mSATA (some models only)

Page 48 has step by step instructions on how to replace the HARD drive as well.

I hope that gives you the information you need. Thanks for posting this topic on the Forums of HP. Have a wonderful day!

  • El Capitan 10.11.4(5 & 6) upgrade question

I have an iMac 2010 (3.2 Ghz Intel Core i3, 4 GB 1333 Mhz DDR3, 1 TB HDD - 485 GB free) that runs quite happily El Capitan 10.11.3

Waited for the release of 10.11.5 and 10.11.6 and have the same problem again.  Equipment of diagnosis showed no problems and has even downgrading to 10.11.3 and 10.11.2 and update go here has not solved the problem.

Has anyone struck this problem and solved?
