HP p6523w upgrade to a Galaxy Nvidia gt240. Help.

I did some research and my diet is a 250w. I found some people saying that this will work because the gt240 pull a lot of power and others saying to upgrade to a 300w. Help, please.

Read here for the specifications of the Galaxy GT240 DDR5 1 GB card; http://www.galaxytech.com/__en_gb__/Product50.aspx ; all other Galaxy GT240 cards seem to have similar characteristics.

Minimum index of the PSU GT240 is 300watts with 18Amps on the 12 v rail.

    Momthetechie, welcome to the forum.

If your motherboard has UEFI , you should be able to use the video card.  However, you might have to upgrade the power supply (PSU), also.  The current PSU is only 300W.  Most newer video cards require at least 400W to work properly.

Ive been upgraded my laptop and updated my ram and hard drives, and bought a Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 m update kit. I know not how to change video and easily installed maps (grounding prevent me electrostatic and protect the card). passed to the map intel before the upgrade and after the first device manager start that he read as standard VGA adapter and its status is that it wouldn't start. I updated my bios and updated the driver for the pilot to 980 m from nvidia and changed the graphics card to the new by using the fn + f7 command and rebooted my computer.

at the start he gave me a blank screen and the 8 beep error code. He looked up and I think it's a faulty card or bad memory on the card. contacted eurocom support and they think that there's a way to get it to work but I'm not so sure. It's the weekend, so they don't come back to me until Monday. someone at - it experience with this or know what I can do now? I am currently back on my card to 660 m.

Everything you did before but not FN + F7 at the end. However, I'd install drivers Nvidia from Dell this time. The last Dell has is either 347.52 (WHQL-quality; you can get this driver from the Alienware support page 13/15/17 R2 on the Dell support site) or 350,12 (beta for Dell). There are also 347.90, but it is quite difficult to find a complete driver for this driver.

When you uninstall the drivers of the GPU, use DDU. It's just a more sure way to uninstall the drivers.

Permanent, no. Difficulty, Yes, maybe. The best is to send not only the video chip to one of the best sellers on eBay who will be actually rebuild the motherboard and redistribution. A new laptop is out of the question? A good state of repair can be as low as $60 if you may remove the motherboard and send it just for repair.

    Hello HP

I was offered a GPU that is better than what my office is came with originally.

I currently have problems understanding if it works with current motherboard, I just like the old GPU Radeon... Technical reading is confusing, so I wanted to just the idea of someone else who might have a better understanding of all the words that I read so many HP and NVIDIA.

So far all I can get is:

-J' I need two 2 x 4 6-pin PCI Express connection power adapters to power this "beast" since my office is only with a bunch of power connectors 4 pin

-My power supply is internal (not sure if it is the 'quantity' of power available for the material) where spec readings of the NVIDIA card recommend a single 400W 300W power supply.

    So here are the Questions!

What are the potential risks it ask 'too much' of my diet that is conecting one more "power hungry" GPU?

This NVIDIA card seems physically mount on this motherboard using the PCI x 16 port?

(This thing is huge, its basically 4 times the colume of my card...)

GTX 560Ti OEM (as of GeForce)

    Hello

Rule #1: Stick with recommendation of size of the graphic card PSU wattage manufactuer.

Rule #2: If your PC is not running a version 8 or higher BIOS then you will need to use a graphics card that is inherited.

The NVIDIA GTX 660 or 670 would be graphics cards good for your PC when supported by a 500-600 watt POWER supply.

  • Upgrade HP 8570w with NVIDIA Quadro K2100M

    Hi, I have a HP 8570w and recently I bought a NVIDIA Quadro K2100M (N15P-Q3-A1).

I installed the graphics card in my HP 8570w but the screen is not working, it stays black.
I reinstalled the original video card K1000M and everything works fine, so I don't know if the new K2100M graphics card is broken or if I have to do something to make it work (for example to update or change the configuration of the bios).
I have the latest version of the Bios (version F.43 68IAV 08/10/2013), what I have to do?
    Kind regards.

The ebay seller told me that he starts flashing the video bios of the K2100M with a compatible vbios HP to solve the problem of incompatibility.

I will inform you if this solution won't work...

  • Upgrading Latitude D830 to Nvidia Quadro

  • Graphic/video card [REPLACEMENT / UPGRADE] on the desktop HP Pavilion - help

    I have the following:

    Desktop HP Pavilion Elite m9152p

Upgrade to Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (updated 11/2009)

The video card seems to have gone out and tried the following:

    Operating system reinstallation

Uninstalled & drivers Reinstalled & restoration

Before attempts above, no changes had been made to software or hardware only led to the same result: the video seems to be fine, and then it crashes and hangs and doesn't eventually having a hard reboot how, the computer loads the integrated video/graphic card.

I need to buy a replacement video/graphics card, but I'm not sure what card I need to be aware of, or that my computer can handle as a replacement and maybe a possible upgrade (not necessary) - any help in this regard would be most appreciated.

    Thank you!

    I think it's a good choice.

The comments seem positive most of the time that the fan seems to be quiet.

I don't know if your previous card had HDMI.

When you install your new video card, it can disable your sound system because of the HDMI audio chip on the video card.

If you do not lose your integrated audio system, after you install the video drivers, reboot the machine, go into BIOS, find the onboard audio setting. It can be set to Auto or disabled. Change the setting to "Enabled". Save the configuration when you have made the change and again when you exit the BIOS.

Upon restart, you will have your on-board audio back.

    Impatience back on your part.

  • 19 HP all-in-One: this user WIN8 simply can't decide if upgrade to WIN10, or not! Help?

When the option to book free download of Windows 10, I booked. Now I vaccilate about deleting nagging pop - up to activate the upgrade, or remove it completely. I have read most of the articles online pro and con and still can't decide. I was comfortable with XP, WIN7 Ultimate and now with WIN8.1 - I tend to like things 'status quo' - anyone can weave the two columns, pro and con, in a single franc, easy to assimulate educated opinion?
