  Thank you, Jennifer. I used spotmau yo system utilities program recover and clear all passwords in the pc and now its working fine again. I tried google on another laptop at first, but all the info I got from sites has been vague atbest.  Then I remembered that I had bought the spotmau program a few years ago because I needed a good program to mirror op systems from old to new hard drives. I didn't know he had a recovery password and reset the function included, it worked very well. Thanks again for your suggestions.  Bill655
