HP PAVILION DV7-6199US and WINDOWS 8
I have no errors, but to be honest, I have no software to install HP with Windows 8. I need my drivers for my switchable graphics as well as all my other components. HP, please, tell me that you will be kind enough to provide these things for my nice HP computer. Thank you.
Hey guys,.
At the moment Windows 8 pilots are not officially supported for these laptops.
I'm sure they test the books right now, and if everything fades there should be no problem with them releasing the pilots.
Please bare with them while they find a way to provide you with the drivers.

Hi all
I have a HP Pavilion dv7-4180 using Windows 7. I bought a Windows 8 of Microsoft and the Bill says:

Online Microsoft provides this statement (quoted):

1. sign in to your Microsoft account
2. in the menu of left, click downloads, subscriptions and product key
3. find your purchase Windows 8.1, and then click Download
4. If a dialog box appears, click Run to start the installation
5 follow the instructions in the installation wizard to complete the installation of Windows 8.1 "Before thiis upgrade, is there advice that I should follow to avoid an honest mistake? For example, losing a feature because of the upgrade?
Thanks for your comments.

Very practical advice. Device Manager to see 'pilot' listed, or should I navigate on the control panel?
Thank you.

You can do this and see if there are drivers that manufacturing has to W8 for that specific material. But you should check the site driver from HP for your P/N and see whether they have or W8 drivers list. Don't forget the older laptop after 2012, the chances of HP with W8 drivers will be slim to none since they do not include support for older hardware.

Please find Driver for BCM20702A0 for hp pavilion dv7-4285dx for windows 7
Hello
Please help me find the driver for BCM20702A0 for hp pavilion dv7-4285dx for windows 7.
I'm going to each site, trying to find a driver for BCM20702A0 because I tried to install a 4 (badge) bluetooth dongle on my laptop but it says 'impossible to update software' when I try to run the installer from the manufacturer's website. Then, I go to devices and printers and try to solve the problem with the bluetooth dongle and it says "BCM20702A0 is not a driver" I tried to download broadcom and updated centrino HP network driver for my laptop page up-to-date, but that does not solve the problem. All these other drivers that I find are for other computers laptops and even still, I can't navigate to links posted on this site, it brings me right back to the search page.
Thank you
Alex

HP Pavilion dv7 6199us: HP dv7 6199us upgrade to USB 3.0
Hey,.
I have a HP Pavilion dv7 laptop 6199us and there just USB 2.0. I read that your motherboard and processor must be able to run USB 3.0 if you want to change anything out. How will I know if my computer can run USB 3.0?
If it can run USB 3.0, I would like to either Söder USB 2.0 ports and put it on 3.0 ports or buy a small surfboard USB 3.0, for a HP Pavilion DV6T-7000 and replace the two USB ports that are not attached to the motherboard.
Please let me know if this is still possible or if I am simply not understand what the computer needs to run USB 3.0.
You are the very welcome.
Please refer to the guide below, Chapter 2, page 12.

HP Pavilion DV7-4150: 10 Windows update fails on HP Pavilion DV7-4150
Hello
10 Windows Update crashes after 87%, so I have to turn off the laptop and the system becomes always restored to Windows 7.
Is there someone who has improved the Pavilion DV7-4150 to 10 Windows? How?
I installed all the updates with the HP Support Assistant HP and all Windows 7 updates I can get. I have the most recent BIOS F.29, but also the BIOS F.12 F.13 and F.23 do not work with Windows 10.
In my view, the problem is the old BIOS HP. Is it a BIOS compatible for HP Pavilion DV7-4150 get worked with Windows 10?
Please HP, is a big job for you, please deliver us a new BIOS for Windows 10 job!
Thank you, always HP - Fan.
Sorry, but HP has shown no sign that it grows some BIOS updates for older machines. I have a HP DV6 and the update in 2011.
I came across similar problems with my HP DV6 - it would always block partially through the update, and then I do a factory reset to get it working again.
What DOES not work for me has been an own-made from a USB key, created installation using the latest version of Win10 obtained by using the tool of creation of MS Media: 10 Windows Installer by using the tool of creation of media - Windows help
However, BEFORE that, be sure to read this thread on greating the genuineticket file, because you will need to activate Win10 after installation: Clean install Windows 10 directly without having to first upgrade - Windows 10 Forums
Good luck

You have 28 days to return to Windows previous once you upgrade to Windows 10.
If the problem persists, you can consider going back to previous Windows:

HP Pavilion dv7 3180SG - drivers Windows XP.
Hi all
I have some difficulty to install the drivers for this laptop.
I have a mechanical arm via the USB port, who informed me the (British) constructor that works only on Windows XP.
I just have this laptop here, really need to use and to install Windows XP, update the SATA via Nlite drivers found here in this forum.
I find just the network driver, which for me was a relief, just that there are still many riders and not sure of compatibility with Windows XP 3180SG.
Could you help me, as has been done in the same post? http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-operating-systems-e-g-Windows-8-and-software/HP-Pavilion-dv7-1...Thank you
Leonardo.
Hi, Leonardo:
Professional HP laptop nearby with the same or similar material that yours is the 8440p.
You can try the XP drivers.
First install the chipset drivers and reboot.
Then, install the graphics driver and reboot:
For audio, you must first install the driver UAA MS, then the audio driver.
You probably too need this driver:

Hello
If you do not, use another PC to create a rescue CD Windows 7. Download the ISO relevant among the links below.
You must use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here. One time created, or if you already have this, typing away at the esc key when you launch Notepad to open the Start Menu. Insert the rescue CD. Select boot options (usually f9), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER. You can also get a prompt to "Press any key to" continuous - it if requested.
When loading, select repair your computer and choose the command prompt. When this charge, enter the following commands and press on enter after everyone – including spaces as shown.
Bootrec.exe
bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup
c:
Boot CD
BCD attrib s h - r
Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old
Bootrec /RebuildBcd
Bootrec /fixmbr
Bootrec /fixboot
Remove the rescue CD and try to restart the laptop.
Kind regards

HP Pavilion dv7-6050ec and 199 MB partition
Hello guys,.
I would ask (that I was not happy with the touch of search here) about 199 MB large partition. I just brought my new HP Pavilion dv7-6050ec laptop, receive Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed and there 4 partitions: 199 MB system. C: 450 GB; Recovery: 15,45 GB; HP_Tools: 103 MB. I would like to divide the C: partition, but as I have already 4 NTFS partition I'm pretty sure that Windows doesn't let me do (as they will push only me to use max 4 NTFS partitions). So my question is:
Can I remove first 199 MB SYSTEM partition? I'll be able to use HP Recovery (in the future) via F11 on reboot, when I delete this partition? Thanks for any response.

Thanks guys, you two. In fact, I have trouble with back up Recovery partition atm. When I run the Recovery Manager console keeps looking for external USB for centuries. But my (Western Digital) external HARD drive is connected. I also didn't find how to save the HP_Tools partition so tho
You don't have a backup of the HP_Tools partition. When you create the recovery disks, disturbances restore factory settings of these disks, including the HP_Tools partition, the partition recovery etc...
If you have problems to save the recovery partition, I would create the recovery disks. Then, you don't have to anything other than your backup data...

Problem on HP Pavilion dv7-6c90el with Windows 8 Pro x 64 on video card
Good evening
I just finished installing Windows 8 x 64 Win7 Pro, I could find all the drivers for my laptop, but I have problems with the video card settings.
My laptop is a HP Pavilion dv7-6c90el with two graphics cards, one managed by the processor, because it seems to do, and the other is normally installed on the PC.
The cards are read by Windows as:
Unit 1: Intel HD Graphics 3000
Unit 2: AMD Radeon HD 6700 m Series (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM v1.20)the problem lies in the fact that the device must be a supported per second, or disabled, as it will not be. AMD video card must be set to 1 and the intel 2. If I go to the "Device Manager" to disable the card intel Windows, it works as if he was absent any video card, also installed driver is not correct because the card is an AMD Radeon HD7690M XT, the problem is that even if I uninstall this driver then always comes back. I also tried to download AMD Catalyst in the latest version, but can't find the card. It's as if the windows are imposed only use the unit 1, which, however, I can not disable the BIOS, because there is no voice. I note that Windows 7 had no problem.
I ask you to help me because I need the video card for my work performance.
Fixed the link - please try again

HP Pavilion g6 - 2248ca and Windows 7
I just Pavilion G6 - 2248CA, tried Windows 8 for awhile. I can't stand it, call me old school, but it all seems like much more of a pain in the ass to do anything on this operating system. So I put away.
I have not installed windows 7, no problem, but Im having a lot of difficulty getting things to work. mainly, the 2 slots usb on the left side. some of the function keys IE volume up volume down, play pause on the keyboard, and where the f-1 through f12 keys.
Device Manager can't find the drivers for the following items:
Ethernet controller
PCI device
SM Bus controller
(USB) Universal Serial Bus controller
(USB) Universal Serial Bus controller
Now I really don't like too much for f1 - f10 function keys work, but I would get the work off of usb. The HP's website to get the chipset drivers to take better advantage of these work, but I'm not sure that this chipset uses this laptop.
Someone at - it solutions to make this flawlessy of laptop computer work under windows 7 cause really, I can't install windows 8 wannabe this tablet.
Thank you.

My computer is really noisy and breaks down a lot, I discovered online that this could be resolved by updating the BIOS. My version is F.02 03/10/2011. I added a Samsung LED HDMI monitor and it works. I added an external keyboard via USB and it works. However, when I close the laptop screen/lid on my laptop, the computer shuts down. How can I close the laptop lid/screen and keep the computer running? I want to place the external keyboard on top of my laptop because my desktop space is limited. Thank you.

- Right-click on your desktop.
- Select"customization".»
- Then select screen saver at the bottom right.
- In the menu of the screen saver, select "change the power settings.
- On the left side you will see "change the closing the cover.
- Select this option and change the settings you want.
- Finally, in the power of change settings menu you can change your power plan (when connected to the top) so it works more like a desktop computer and hard drives will not shut.
