HP vectra vl 420: Beep

The computer make 1 beep on the windows login screen and start normally. Here any problem or everthing ok?

Hi there @Nikto008

I understand that you are concerned about one beep when you start your computer. I appreciate help with this.

In this case, as there is a single short beep, that is nothing to worry. It is just the power on tests start, or by MAIL. If you had a long or repetitive beeps, then it would probably be an indicator of a problem.

I hope this helps.

Remove all the RAM and then remove the battery from the motherboard. Press/hold power button for about 30 seconds and then reinstall the battery. Now, try to boot with no RAM installed. If you get no beeps of the Tower, it is the likelihood the motherboard has failed...

  • Dell XPS 420 not go, bright, flashing orange light orange on the motherboard, flashing green light behind USB on motherboard

I am running Windows 7 on my XPS 420, I had updated the power supply two years back and installed extra ram and an SSD, a few months ago.

I quit the PC last night, normally

This morning, it is not booting, the light was blinking orange, including the connected mouse was blinking also.

I decided to open it and check all connections; everything went well on the inside.  Before you open the PC, I unplugged all the extras connected like mouse, etc.

The computer has actually started up normally and when I plugged the monitor it looked ordinary, he had reached the Windows login screen.

HOWEVER, when I plugged the first rear USB component, the computer off and started to blink.

I'm not sure what the problem is here.  My motherboard is fried?  I don't think it's the power supply from the computer DID resume after I noticed the blinking yellow light.  I wonder if the flashing of the earlier mouse and/or the flashing green on the back (inside the PC) of USB port average something else.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated

First check that all the cables for power and data are correctly connected, including the cables on the front panel.

No difference and if you're comfortable working around computers, you can try the following:

Note: The only 100% POWER supply test method, is to install a known working power.

Unplug the power cord, hold the power button in for about 15-20 seconds, open the case, disconnect the power connector 24-pin motherboard and jumping the Green wire to one of the black wires, plug in the power cord and the power of the system, if the PSU, case fans and disk hard drive performance then the power supply can be good.

Note: Do not remove the wires from the plug, use a small piece of wire or a paper clip as a rider.

Extract supply and the system still does not work, yet once remove the power cord, hold button power in a few seconds to discharge residual power, reconnect the connector 24 pin to the motherboard.

Remove any PCI video card [as appropriate], memory cards, all the devices, unplug data cables and power to all readers, check that the cable from the front panel is connected to the motherboard, without anything else connected to the system, reconnect the power cable and power the system on.

If there is no difference in the diagnostic lights, of "Beep" codes and/or the indication of the LED on the power button, it would seem that the motherboard is dead and/or the processor and the only method I know to check a processor is perhaps install a compatible work PC, or use a known job processing.

  • XPS 420 Fan upstairs with no start-up of the thread

    Hello world

I have a Dell XPS 420 and whenever I turn it on, the fan goes really high, and Vista does not start. Sometimes I can turn it on normally, but this is rare, and most of the time the fan will continue at full power as soon as you push the button. I use a moment when the computer works for this, type that Vista has started today. I took the power supply cord and recovered many times and I turned off and turned it back several times too, but usually, it's the most unexpected times when it actually starts. If anyone else has had this problem or does anyone have a solution?

in general, this means a motherboard failure. Since you say that you can get this to do several times, then I suggest this.

Remove all external devices other than keyboard, mouse and monitor. try to start.

If no change starts from within. remove all ram, cards, disconnect the readers. Press the powerbutton. Not all indications, listen to the beeps, watch the lights, look at the power button. the fact you are saying keep it blue indicates it is not a power supply problem.

Now, we must reduce it to a component or the motherboard.

Yes, I'm aware that the diagnostic lights sequence during startup. Its when they stop it is important.

  • 3 beeps, 5 seconds silence, 3 beeps, etc change the memory did not help...

Mac Mini end of 2012 running El Capitan

With 3 beeps, 5 seconds silence, 3 beeps, etc, it's "no good bank."  I was using crucial memory, works fine until about a week ago when he is awakened from his sleep gave the order to 3 beeps.  Changed to original memory of apple, same, got crucial replacement memory, same 3 beeps...  I doubt that all the 3 series were / are bad.  What else could be?  Any hardware problem would give sequence 3 beeps?

Probably the logic board is having some problems caused by the bad memory or another problem. I would certainly get extract in an Apple Store or service provider.

  • Siri beep - AWOL

Running IOS 10.0.1, also participated in the public beta version of IOS10.  For some time now, the beep that siri is usually done by long pressing the home button has gone.  Curiously, when it is connected to bluetooth in the car, it still works, (that is, it will beep when you do Hey siri or pressing long House), but without bluetooth I just get a screen of siri telling me that it is tuned (very scary)...

So, how to adjust settings for siri ALWAYS beep when it is committed?

Also, anyone know if there is still the whole profile as IOS Beta software profile makes a difference, and if so, how can I get rid of this?

    Thanks team.

Yes, the beep was preceded for awhile, since iOS 10. It's always there if you have the phone connected to a charger or something like a car system.

  • MacBook beeps randomly while I use it.

Hello. Can someone help me to fix my macbook pro?

The annoying problem is, it beeps at random while I use it and I don't know why. He just happened to this "beep" after a few days that I connect it to an external monitor (Mac). It is the only action I did before the beep that's happened.

    Hi there iamAloTheGreat,

    Please visit Apple support communities.

I understand that you hear one its "beep" after having plugged an external display to your MacBook Pro. We'll look into this a little more closely.

You hear the beeps at start up your Mac? If so, see computer on Mac startup tones.

If you hear beeps intermittently when you use your Mac, it can take a little more time to find the cause. You can use the steps in this article to help isolate the cause: help with graphics issues on external displays connected to your Mac.

    Best regards.

  • 2011 15 "Macbook pro more low ram slot machine does not work. 3 beeps every time I start up my Mac.

    Hey guys,.

Then Ive met this weird problem with my mac. While I was using the Mac at work for like 4 hours without interruption and then when it was time to go home, I just put the screen down and put the Mac to sleep. When I opened the Mac at home, he started with 3 beeps and it wouldn't start.

After having panic for like half an hour, so I decided to take google on this issue. I found many queries, but nothing like mine. So I opened the back panel of the Macbook, deleted the two Rams and re-sitting (like one of the posts on google said to do) twice but it still did not work. I took off the piston down and tried to turn on a single cylinder high and it worked.

A bit of history, Apple had this quality control program where all 2011 Macbook pros affected by a defective video card can have their logic boards changed for free by taking it to apple. My macbook was one of them and apple genius guys changed the logic board. Long and behold, after six months the lower slot of Bank ram has stopped working. My question is, can I use the Apple since its only six months, and if I order a new Board of the logic on their part, what are the chances that this will not happen?

Any past experiences you guys could share to help me would be greatly appreciated.

If I order a new Board of the logic on their part, What are the chances that this will not happen?

A good fortuneteller adventure can answer this one!  FWIW, I had mine replaced guarantee also that extended repair program had expired for FREE3 or 4 years ago.  My MBP 2008 is till going strong.

  • MacBook Pro done three short beeps and a pause.

MacBook Pro made three short tones beeps and flashes the power on light then made a break of approximately at the same time it does beep. What it repeats. I stopped it by cutting off all the external references and by pressing the switch for about 10 seconds. Any thoughts?

It turns out that I must have accidentally open the clip of RAM when I upgraded my HD up to 1 TB. High memory was loose and tilt. Carefully, I removed the memory and then reinserted it. Back to functional without beep.

  • MacBook Pro 2010 beeps and stop.

Hello everyone. My old 2010 MacBook page several times during normal use (not during start-up) in cycles of three, then stops and restarts. I did a number of tests including reset PRAM, MSC, reinstall the OS, exchanging the HD with the SSD, removal of RAM in time banks, using only discreet GPU and only the integrated. The beeps continue to occur.

The only thing I can think of right now is overheating. The MacBook gets really hot and I already bought some thermal paste to replace the old one on the CPU and the GPU, but as far as I know, these beeps are not related to overheating problems. Guys have never experienced something like this? Because I don't really want to throw too much money on this old laptop.

    Thank you everyone!
    Michael

  • the alarm beep iMac

I have an iMac 27 ", mid 2011, El Capitan 10.11.6 running. During the last two months, the awakening from its sleep, it gives a single quiet beep... but it is incompatible, that is not all the time, nor even every other time. I searched different forums for what this would result with no result for this particular situation. Plenty of three beeps on MacBook and iMac, but nothing for a single beep that I found so far.

Someone at - it live something similar and discovered a cause and a solution? Thank you

In the past, some items that I had read on this subject suggested the soft tone, not

like any other startup error beeps and not a natural OK start sound, likely

were the sign of a hard drive failure.
