hp6910p

Hello

I just bought a hp6910p opportunity running vista professional 32-bit with 4 GB of ram and a 80 GB HDD.

I would like to upgrade the hard drive, to add more storage and hope that it will be possible to install a larger capacity, something like 500 GB.

Please could someone tell me if this would be possible, I'm not clued up on hardware/software, but understand the physical removal and replacement of the drive, it is only if it is possible and safe to run a 500 GB drive in the hp6910p.

Many thanks in advance,

Tim.

Ok.

Use it could be simple.

Install the new hard drive, block the enlosure hard drive and plug in the external power adapter.

Press the power button, open the DVD drive and put it in the drive.

As soon see you the reel of DVD player and you see the Recovery Manager, you're in business. Choose an image recovery factory if cela isan available as an option.

Hi I have a windows 10 hp6910p moved because of the chipset mobile intel 965. any ideas on a solution or a support for this?

    Thanks in advance,

    Jase.

    You are the very welcome.

    Interesting...

When I booked mine, I had all the check marks.

The laptop was initially running XP Pro, I've upgraded to Vista Business.

Last month, I decided to try the W10 Preview on the machine, and subject to my previous comment on the infrared driver, it worked fine.

So, since you can't upgrade Vista to W10, I got a W8 Pro upgrade license (they were giving away them for $39.99 when W8 is out).

So, I have installed Pro W8, took the free update for W8.1 Pro (each device driver has been installed on W8.1 Pro) and then got booking W10 icon, and that's when I got the green light to upgrade.

However... I did not download the day it came out, so I decided to install from the Microsoft link and do not wait.

    It has worked well.

You can try the direct download link and select the version of the W10, you are eligible to upgrade to.

Select the immediate upgrade after you download and run the installer.

Your laptop has the ATI graphics card?  Mine has an Intel.

If she has the ATI graphics card, this is maybe why you get the message incompatible chipset.

If you can get W10 to install from the link, try the graphics driver ATI W7 since 6910p support page.  You may need to install the driver manually if auto installation does not work.

  • HP6910p Re-install

    Hi all

I recently did something formatted my hard drive, fortunately I was able to recover all my work laptop, but not Windows Vista preinstalled software that would allow me to restore the laptop to factory settings, I contacted HP who kindly sent me some records which allowed me to reset my system but there are some issues. For example, I used to get a volume screen that appeared on my screen when I used the volume and brightness, I used to be able to control the brightness of my screen using the [fn]<- function="" button="" and="" pressing="" either="" f10="" and="" f11.="" this="" no="" longer="" works.="" is="" there="" a="" way="" of="" reinstalling="" this="">

    Sorry for the long-winded story.

  • Dial-up networking cannot connect Vista Business

    Hello

I'm unable to connect to a switch with Vista Business SP1 network, from a laptop computer HP6910p.

    Summary of the problem:

    • I create the dial-up networking connection via "connect to".
    • I select Connect to dial up, go into the details of authentication etc and click OK
    • The DUN system displays a bar of status with «Modems connection...» »
    • The DUN system never gets beyond that point. The modem never made up, and eventually it times out.
    • If I choose the "repair" option, Vista reports that there is no problem with dial-up networking

    Attempted fixes:

I tried just about everything short of reinstalling Vista (not an option unfortunately), so why I post here

    • Have uninstalled and reinstalled the modem several times.  The modem is listed in the Device Manager and reacts appropriately when he is questioned
    • HP have replaced the modem
    • Have uninstalled all the programs I thought could potentially cause some kind of conflict with DUN, including Nokia PC Suite (install phone as a BT modem), Cisco VPN client.
    • You disable the "wait tone before dialing."
    • Have you tried to tone and pulse dialing
    • Have you tried several lines in different locations, after checking that they have worked with another computer

Here's the most important thing, though:

    • I extracted xp hyperterminal and running towards him to diagnose the hardware problem.
    • HyperTerminal is able to deal with success a connection!
    • When I tested it with hyperterminal works as expected - create the connection, entry number, dial. The modem comes on, I hear it dial and the call connects.
      • That's why I'm leads that the problem is with vista not the hardware.
      • Could there be a problem with how to Vista DUN trying to drive the modem?

In my many searches on the web for a solution, I found another person who seems to have a similar problem, but unfortunately no one responded to their question.

    Help, please!

    Thank you

    G.

I have answered my own question, after days trying to solve it on and outside.

Somehow 'calls routed through the operator or manual numbering' had been enabled for dial-up.

    To turn it off,

    1. Open "network connections
    2. Select the dial-up connection, press the ALT key and click on the Advanced menu, and then click operator-assisted dialing. (If the assisted dialing is enabled, with assistance of the operator dialing on the Advanced menu is selected.)

I hope this helps someone else in the future!

    G.
