HTML5 merged projects of SSL

My question concerns the upgrade project of topics merged into HTML5.  Help on Robohelp 10 documentation said this at page 299: "upgraded project. When you upgrade a project, RoboHelp adds Profiles screen but doesn't add any new SSL or the presentation of the screen. After upgrading a project, add provisions to the Gallery screen. Add a new HTML5 Multiscreen type SSL, configure the Multiscreen SSL HTML5 as required and generate a result."

I have two questions

1 'make HTML5 SSL, I put in the parent child out of project control project? Or do I need to copy and build the projects of the child with the same SSL as a parent? No details on this will be appreciated.

2. once updated in HTML5 should open the project parent to the child above my table of contents automatically as before (WebHelpPro). On my first attempts, he did not do.

The project has worked flawlessly on 10 of Robohelp compiled in WebHelpPro.

Thank you in advance.

Mike

Hi Mike,.

Multivision HTML5 SSL is very powerful compared to WebHelp Pro to offer more opportunity to customize your output.

(1) project parent and child are two different entities and they must be generated individually. In addition, it is with the release of WebHelp project of the child must be generated within the "mergedProjects" folder (or copy a child project post-build) must be followed for HTML5 Multiscreen output as well.

(2) once the parent and the child was upgarded and released Multiscreen HTML5 is generated in the appropriate location then TOC (parent + child) merged will be visible automatically

  • Merging projects

    Hi all

Is it possible to merge the projects. for example, I have 2 projects, I would like to make in 1 autonomous project.

I had a game to import, update, export to the file buttons but I have no luck

    Thank you

There is no function in OPM to automatically merge projects, but you can easily copy the files/folders you want from draft 2 to draft 1 (in Windows Explorer), and then right click on a folder in the project (usually the left frame) OPM Explorer and select "Add an existing file" or "add an existing folder.

Depending on how much overlap, you have between the rules, if you use consistent naming for attributes, etc. that you then probably need to do some manual storage upward.

  • Why does my merged project display 2 table of contents for the first project/start?

I use RH8 and windows 7 and generate Webhelp

When I generate my merged project I get 2 table of contents of the first project. When I click on other merged projects disappears from the table of contents 2nd and all is well.

Also, I can't return to my first / start window.

    Here is what I created:

    Main folder

    Parent

    Children

Project 1 (this is my start/welcome page)

    Project 2

    Project 3

    Project 4

My Parent file in the table of contents contains new projects and looks like this:

    Project 1

    Project 2

    Project 3

    Project 4

The only section in the parent file is empty and I put in the following redirection according to the instructions on the site grainge:

    "< meta http-equiv ="refresh"content="0;url=./mergedprojects/project1/project1.htm "/ >

How stop the TOC 2 on the first page of the project start and how do I display so I can access it later.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Pat

The start page is not a topic. This is what opens the three components and the topic you see in that is the default theme.

By default, HR takes the name of your project and which initially applies the page so if your project is called redrabbit, the start page will be redrabbit.htm.

Many authors can call the redrabbit of the theme by default as it is the name of the project and it seems logical.

Problem is when the wizard attempts to use it as the default value for the start page, the name is used for the number 1 is added.

This means that you end up with redrabbit and redrabbit1. If you look in the wizard, you will see the name of the start page, first on the ground. You do not redirect, that redirect you to the default topic that is longer than down in the page of the wizard. The index is that the field is called the default theme.

  • CHW files are required in the merged projects?

I feel a little frustration here and I hope that you can help out me. I have two main projects, a very large and the other more. Each master project has subprojects merged with them. I pledge my CHM regularly and generates files associated with Subversion for the 'master to build' can add to the various product test (and ultimately the production relies). Is one of the types of files that I was including the. CHW file type. It is my understanding that it is a file type required for the final project to display all of the keywords all merged projects index.

I have one of the developers who said that this type of file was never included in any of the memories of my predecessor before and it don't think it's necessary. I thought of compiling a project of merge and delete the. File CHW to see what is happening, but there must be an easier way.

Can someone clarify this for me? I really don't understand that CHW files are required so that all key words all merged projects to display in the final main project. Here are my sources:

    http://www.helpware.NET/HTMLHelp/how_to_merge.htm

    http://FILExt.com/file-extension/CHW

    Thank you.

My understanding is that the CHW file is created only when a merged CHM is opened. If a user opens a merged CHM, CHW file is created, because it contains the merged index. So it is not necessary to be placed in a source control database, or be supplied with the application.

You could test this by installing your CHM merged on another PC, then open it. You should see a CHW file that is created in the same directory.

  • Grabbing the children of merged projects projects

    Hello again,

I always try to get the hang of the merged projects. I ran into a small... snafu. I'm trying to carve up a project more in smaller. I thought that I'm able to do the following:

-Create 5 projects, (lets call their base 1-5 less) complete with images, index, topics, etc.
-Create more than 2 projects (lets call them medium 1 and medium 2). Mid 1A basic 1 and 2 merged inside of base. Middle 2A 3-5 database merged into it. Two environment projects have unique themes, images, etc.
-Create a final project (let's call it the top). Top a medium 1 and medium 2 merged with it as well as to other topics

Apparently I can't do this, as when I place mid 1 and mid 2 up, 1-5 Basic is not set up. Just the subjects unique, images, etc.

I wish the last output to a .chm file. I found a way to do this via webhelp (I have not tried, so I don't know if it actually works).

Thanks in advanced for any help you can provide.

If you copy the based CHMS in the same output as the top project directory, you should be OK. In scenarios like this, I would say having an output directory outside the current structure of the project (e.g.) C:\RHOutput) that all the base, middle and top of page projects can point to. In this way there is no copy required files and you will not work in this kind of issues.

BTW out of curiosity, why do you use a three-tier structure? It could not be managed in two layers?

  • RoboHelp 2015 adapted HTML5: child projects are not displayed in the output of the main project

    Hello

I have a main and right project currently linking to two projects of the child. I published the projects of the child to the correct file to location SSL of the master project. When the output of the master file, the table of contents of the master project are fine, but no information of the child projects. I searched the forums and other Web site for answers and have not been able to fix my problem.

    Thank you

    Chris

I'm sorry, it took me so long to look at more in detail, but the good news is that the project you sent me now works correctly in Firefox and IE.

The problem has been setup. You must build the parent to a folder that will then create the ready files for the child projects. Next, you generate each child in the child's file in the mergedProjects folder in the parent folder. You generated to the! SSL! each project folder.

I would like to know if you want to send me the version of working with you.

  • Unmerging merged projects

I inherited a help system merged created using 8 HR which merged 40 projects, about 3 000 subjects in total, with several projects merged containing about 5 topics.  Given that I'll be only technical writer to maintain the project, I'd rather re - combine the projects in a project.  Is there an easy way to do this?  Thank you!

There is nothing difficult in this subject, in part the * ache.

You need import everything into a single project, fix all the links, rework the TOC, index and glossary etc. Get the idea?

It seems odd create a project with only five subjects unless there is a very good reason. Are you sure that you are familiar enough with what you have inherited to be absolutely sure that your predecessor did not have a reason any.

3 000 topics in a single project should be OK, but try to avoid too many in a folder. If you also have many images can test things as you go. I had more than 3,000 subjects in a project, but I've also seen people have problems with a smaller number, but a large number of images (four-digit).

Maybe do it by steps again with a merger but with fewer projects, see how that goes for a while and then merge more.

  • How is it, some of my links do not work in my merged project?

I work with RH8 and have implemented a project merged under the new method Grainge. Here is the file structure for the files in my project (work):

    C

    DocsandSettings

    MyName

                 Mydocs

    MyrobohelpProjects\

                          Help

Help file (it contains the redirect to SSHelp\Help.htm)

                              SSHelp

                                  Children

                                      Help

    Main_Help_Page_files\Main_Help_Page.htm

                                      Achild

    A_Help\A_Help_files\A_Child.htm

                                     EChild

    EHelp\EHelp\EHelp_files\EChild.htm

I can link helps A_Child.htm. I can't do the help for Echild.htm link

I generate to C\Merged\mergedProjects then the child files are all in their separate files.

    What I am doing wrong?

    Pat

That seems better. The XPJ will always be in the folder root for this project.

Download the example on my site. You will see first hand this way.

The way you links of things between the projects of the child must have worked and links between the parent and the child would have broken. Make sure that you create the links that they way I describe. The relative path is very important.

  • merged projects

I have created a master project (RoboHelp HTML), in which I added two new projects merged via the TOC toolbar. Appear in the main table of contents, but do not appear in the table of contents, when the main project is generated as a Flash help. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

    New hylandwriter1 Hi

Uh, what version of RoboHelp do you use? Merger of FlashHelp is a feature that appeared recently. So if you use X 5, I think not fusion FlashHelp was possible with this version.

  • merged project problems

I'm running RoboHelp HTML X5.0.2 Build 801, and I use HTML Help as my main page layout.
The software that I see online help runs two separate requests. I originally created a vast RoboHelp project, but then realizes that for implementing context sensitive help, I need to create two separate projects and merge them together.
I have now two RoboHelp projects. The larger project (called TopView.chm) has a link in the table of contents for the smaller project (called MADE.chm). As long as I have access help online through the TopView.chm project, everything works well. But when I open MADE.chm project alone, he acknowledges not KNOCK of TopView.chm and it does not even contain a tab table of contents.
In the MADE.hhp file, I have the following lines.

    [WINDOWS]
    $global_TopViewWindow = "view top 10","TopView.chm::\TopView.hhc","MADE.hhk '...

This is the same window name that I used in the TopView.chm file. I have also included a [MERGE FILES] section of the MADE.hhp file (which has not been created automatically).
I searched throughout these forums and have read a number of other articles, including articles about helpware.net site, but I was not able to get this working properly. Is there something I'm missing?
    Thanks for any help.
    Maura

Your [WINDOWS] - definition looks good, and the description of your problem is that I live.

You could try to compile the hydrostatic pressure of your project MADE with the MS HTML Help Workshop or FAR; I guess that your tab contents will be magiacally it. If this is the case, try to copy uses RoboHelp hhp for the actual compilation. It is written in a temporary folder while RoboHelp is preparing the project. If you manage to catch this hhp, you will probably see that it looks remarkably different from the one you have in the folder the project root.

All that is causing this strange behavior, I don't know. :-(

  • Merged project problem

    * RH 6 on Vista
    * Project HTML Help compiled

I have a large number of compiled HTML help projects that I am trying to merge. The main project is very large (about 5 000 topics), then there are a dozen other projects that are merged into the contents (.hhc) of the master project file. I checked that all merged .chms exist in the same output directory. However, when I click on most links for the subprojects in the master TOC, the help browser can not find the .htm page and gives this error:

"This program cannot display this webpage".

How can I fix? I tried to re - insert the merged .chm files several times in the table of contents. But I think that something is wrong with my project because I have another similar project for our next release that blends very well. Yet, to investigate the .hhc files, I don't see anything different between the two.

I have also created a master project of smaller test with a single project and was able to merge properly.

Thanks to you two. Lucas, opening the CPD in Access and removing the many elements of the absolute path of the MergeCompiledFileList seem to have solved that problem. Thanks again.
