I am running xp family and I don't want to install sp3. Once there is an option to 'hide' that update to the update from microsoft is not keep trying install... but I can't find this option more... so my question is: how to hide the sp3 update?

I didn't "feel like sp3. I have no install disk for it, I only have records of sp2. If something goes wrong with my installation of windows, I want to be able to fix it!

You don't want to hide it. Computers running under that WinXP SP2 will NOT be offered additional updates of security reviews, automatic updates will stop working, and the Windows Update Web site will not be available after April 12, 2010, until that SP3 is installed.

WinXP SP3 is entirely-installable, if the need ever arose.
