I can add page numbers and the name of the file to several PDF automatically?

Hello.  First of all thank you for taking the time to read this!  We are a small non-profit hospice.  Looking to take a large amount of files and put the family name of patients (which is the name of the file) and a page number in the footer of each page of each document.  For example.  Smith of file name.  Smith Smith Smith 2 1 3 etc.  However, I can do this to several files at the same time and do not have to open each one.

I don't understand... Are the names of your files, Smith, Jones, Potter.

etc. ?

If Yes, then you should see a watermark on each page of the output files

saying: 1 Smith, Smith 2, Jones 1, 2 Jones, Potter 1, 2 Potter, etc. Is not

as what you see?

  • Page numbering and the Table of contents

I have a book containing 23 document files. Document files contain the page numbers in the footer.

One of the document file is a generated table of contents (TOC). Unfortunately, the generated page

the number in the table of contents do not match the numbering of the pages in the files. Here are the details:

    • The title page, in a file by itself, is not numbered
    • The frontmatter, distributed in five cases use lowercase Roman (i - xvi)
    • The body of the text in the remaining 17 files is digital (1-243)
    • The generated TOC uses cardinal numbers of the book as a whole. For example,.
Chapter I is numbered correctly in the footer from page 1. However, he is listed in the table of contents
as starting on page 19, because this is the file real 19th in the book. I put the document numbering
This file from 1 properties and properties of Page numbering for the book as a whole to
      be "continue."
    • The style of the table of contents entries is correct. In other words, the frontmatter uses a tiny Roman and the
      chapters use Numeric

I tried to regenerate the table of contents, but this did not help.

Does anyone have suggestions on what is the way prescribed to do?

OK, I continued to read and this is what I found:

Set the numbering style in the document, and not in the book that we told you. Format > Document > numbering. Choose Arabic or digital. Repeat for the various chapters.

Save and close the chapters. In the book file, click with the right button on each chapter and choose Configure XXX. This is where tell you the book to continue the page numbering or restart at the 1.

Once this is done, update your address. From there, if there are issues, we rely on the logic of the Fm we use every day, and each of us can help you solve.

  • Is it possible that I can install Pages, Numbers and Keynote for free?

I recently bought a Macbook Air from a friend. Pages, Numbers and Keynote are already installed on this computer. In the AppStore, it is $ 20 for each application. If I'm not mistaken, these applications must already be installed on a Mac of any kind. Is it possible to get them for free?

If you previously downloaded from the Mac App Store with your own Apple ID, log, click the purchases tab and do. If not, click here and ask; accept the response you get.

  • Where are my Pages, numbers, and the apps to iMovie?

I had to wipe my hard drive and reinstall OS Sierra due to computer problems. When I did my apps in Pages, Numbers, Keynote, and iMovie were missing. How can I get back them?

Log in to the Mac App Store with Apple ID with which they are associated, click the purchases tab and redownload them.

If they were deleted without being associated with an Apple ID, click here , or contact Apple.

If they are associated with another Apple ID, you can contact Apple as above, but it can be said to buy.

Did you even open the PostScript language reference manual? Comments are a normal part of the PostScript. Anything from % this is a comment (but avoid %% %! because they have special meanings). Be sure you do not accidentally break the DSC (do not add in the middle of a stream of special comments) comments.

  • How can I add page numbers to PDF?

I combined multiple files into a PDF file.  How can I add my combined document page numbers?

    Hi Patti-IWFNorCal,

It cannot be executed via the service to create a PDF file once you have created the PDF file.

You can effortlessly add page numbers in the PDF document in Acrobat.

    1. Tools - Pages - Edit Page Design - Header & Footer - add header & footer.

    2. Select the font and size, etc., place the cursor on the appropriate site to insert the page number, click on the button "Insert Page number" and click OK.

  • Printer all in one HP PSC 2175v prints the page number and the title of the document

Printer all in one HP PSC 2175v prints the page number and the title of the document.

This is the default value?  Can I disable this?  I would prefer to print only the document, without page numbers and the title.

I was printing of either Wordpad specifications, using Windows XP.

Using the front panel of the printer, I loaded the defaults of the printer, and that fixed the problem.

    Thank you

  • I get a Script Error failed. I think it is because the domain name is on page 1 and the field with the calculation is on page 2.

I get a Script Error failed. I think it is because the domain name is on page 1 and the field with the calculation is on page 2.

The formula is just + Cash.  I don't know how to tell him to look on Page 1.  If I use the same domain on Page 1, the formula works so I know that this is not something in the name of the field.

    It received NO response

Page1.cash should do it. If not, you can use CTRL + click to enter its name in your script.

    1. Select the field that you add the script.
    2. Scroll the design view until you can see the object whose name you need. (Is not necessary if the object is already in mode)
    3. Click inside the script window to place the cursor where you want the name of the other object.
    4. Hold down the CTRL key while clicking the object whose name you need.
  • Change the Page numbers and Sections in a book once it's underway?

    CS5.5

    10.6.8 MacBookPro

I'm working on a book of 450-500 pages with 4 chapters, 150 + images full page of text, end and beginning of information (title page, preface, introduction, table of contents, annexes, glossary, end notes).

I booked three chapters using the InDesign book feature, now works on the bits before and end and a final chapter (actually Chapter 1).

I watched the excellent video of Michael Murphy on the feature of the book, and it adds the page numbering and sections before he created the model. I make them after I have chapters in the book.

    A question:

How can I add a separate paging once I have booked several chapters?
I also want to add an article and before any style i, ii, iii, etc., and after 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.

    Second question

How can I add the title of the book to all the pages in the left hand and the title of the chapter on the right pages now? I've never done it in InDesign, and my attempts after reading aid do not work even on a chapter outside the service book. In the book feature, I don't know yet how to start.

    Thank you very much!

A question: same thing if you are working on a single document to create a doc of island new section where you want and adjust the figures. Numbering book will adjust when you synchronize the numbers in the book panel.

Two Qusruib: put this stuff on master pages. Title of the book is not likely to change from page to page, then type this information in a text block. To the chapter title, use a running Header Variable (see variables in the help).

  • In the book module page numbers are the same color as the text of the title. How can I change the color of the page numbers in black?

In the book module page numbers are the same color as the text of the title and I would like that the numbering of the pages to be black. How can I do this?

Click the mouse cursor exactly on a Page number where it appears on a page.

Set the color of the characters in the Type Panel.

"Type" parameters are related to each field Photo text, the text of the Page text, text number of pages, which allows you to set the Style of individual text for each of these three "areas".

  • How can I add page numbers to PDF in Adobe Reader ms?

I'm used to be able to add page numbers to PDF with an older version of the player. How can I do that in DC?

    Hi elizabethc54956057,

It is not possible to add page numbers to PDF with Adobe Reader.

You may use the software Adobe Acrobat for the same thing.

  • Minimizing the differences between the print document page numbers and page numbers fixed ePub format

    Hi all!

I'm currently involved in a project of ePub format fixed relatively simple. I almost completely finished with the file, but I see for export, only the page numbers in the table of contents for navigation begin numbering at a point different than the print document.

I certainly don't expect the software ideally know exactly where I want the numbering to start, but I was wondering: is there a way to change the starting point of the navigation table of contents so that I can select the starting point? Here's a screenshot of the situation I describe, taken on my iPad mini using iBooks. A fix for InDesign would be useful, I am very willing to modify the code. Please let me know what additional information can help.

    Thank you very much

I don't have a good answer for you on that I've been unable to get this works as is suspected.

The next update will include support for a list of the fixed layout pages and to my surprise that it was unsuccessful in the evolution of the Navigation table of contents page (right) numeric values that you see.

Those who seem to come from literally the index of the XHTML file where is the target of the table of contents. If iBooks is unable to find the target it displays the entry under '... ».

Where the list of pages seems to make a difference on the iOS7/iBooks, is when you're scouring the pages in display mode page it will display the value of the entry in the list of pages... which is now generated from the string of InDesign page number in a gray oval.

Maybe this has changed to iOS8/iBooks or perhaps other readers it manage differently - I never had the chance to try it on other players.
