Some phones supported do not appear Firefox on the market for some reason any. We're still investigating it. You can check if your phone is supported here:

    https://wiki.Mozilla.org/mobile/platforms/Android

and then download the application directly from here:

(Note: If your phone is AT & T, you will have to search for 'sideloading' instructions in the APK file, because AT & T disables the option to install non-market sources.)

  • How to change the resolution of the screen in Firefox for Android?

    Hello
    I have a Galaxy Note 3, which is display resolution is 1920 x 1080.
If I go to http://www.whatismyscreenresolution.com with Firefox, I see that it shows my screen resolution 640 x 360 (even with the "ask Site Desktop" checked and tiny text size ' ").
I tried with other browsers, and some of them were able to display 1920 x 1080.

    The question is:
How can I use Firefox for Android in screen resolution of my screen (which is 1920 x 1080) MAXIMUM?

Could you try to open this page: http://dev.jeffersonscher.com/resolution.html

The script should show the screen resolution 'effective' as well as the device pixels, which gives the real screen resolution. (The page is not recalculate when you rotate between portrait and model guidelines, so you'll need to manually reload after having done this.)

Note: There may be rounding errors for more extreme values.

Assuming that the device pixels is closer to 3 to 1, you can try to change a hidden parameter to see if it improves things.

Open a new tab and type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press the Enter key on the keyboard. You can bookmark this page for future alterations.

In the search box, type css, and then press the keyboard entry.

When you find layout.css.devPixelsPerPx press the button Edit and change the value 1.0 (in general, you simply remove the sign-). Press the OK button.

Return to the first tab and reload.

Did that change how make real sites do you use?

There is a simulator for Firefox OS (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/firefox-os-simulator/)

When I go to the address to download firefox for mobile and click on the download button for Android, nothing happens, it does not download. The download of departure message seems fair. The handset is HTC Desire A8181 Android.
Ihad also enabled the "allow application out-of-market installations" under settings.

Try to open the download manager in your phone's web browser (press "Menu", then press "More" and then "downloads"). Download of Firefox appear here? This can take several minutes to download, because the current versions of Firefox are about 14 MB.

  • Firefox for android mobile phone said app can access the following on your phone... take pictures and videos? Is there a work around? If not have to uninstall.

I have Firefox for my laptop and wanted to use it on my phone Android mobile phone. When I saw under permissions that the application can access photos and videos and can take photos and videos that seemed very odd. Does anyone know of a work around to keep the app to take photos and videos without my permission? I do not want to uninstall but can allow the intrusion of privacy.

We have a help article about why this permission is here: how Firefox for Android uses the requested permissions?

Specifically, some sites may give you the option to attach or embed an image directly from the camera instead of going through a folder of pictures already taken. In order to support this feature, Firefox requires permissions to access the camera. However, according to this article, Firefox will ask your permission before leaving the site to use the camera. I don't think I have ever seen this in action.

  • How can I remove the Get Firefox for Android box on the homepage?

Recently, I noticed that I constantly see a box on the home page of Firefox asking if I want to send me a link to Firefox for Android. Is there a way to delete it? I tried the solution with a similar issue in 2012, but the solution doesn't seem to work this time: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/937849#answer-370222

These kinds of "ads" should have an option to delete, as I already have the application installed and do not want to see it more. Firefox is usually of choice, and a button to mark the div html with style 'hidden' should be very simple to implement.

I think it would be great if there was a button to reject individual code snippets that you do not want to see again. But... I'm not aware of such a thing at the moment.

If you look through the recent posts about the excerpts on the home page, you can find a number of different methods to hide their. For example:

  • How to view pdf files without having to download on firefox for android

I use a program of electronic medical records using Firefox for android on a Tablet Samsung Galaxy Pro 12.2. I need to view the pdf files of patients on the tablet. So far, the only way I've been able to do this is to download the file first. It would be more effective if I could just view the PDF on the Galaxy Tablet without having to download it. Is it possible to do this with Firefox for android? Thank you.

Adobe has never made a PDF for Android plugin. Which is what is needed to achieve the desired behavior. I have already cited the only option that comes closest.

The files are downloaded. Using a plugin browser does not prevent the data being stored locally on your computer.
