Where can I get the software that was preinstalled on the original operating system (that I have left intact)?

  Yes I know that I can't pay for an upgrade, however, I don't want to do that. Its just more money right now. As I have the subscription, I did what I did above. I might even overwrite the original... but I need all the sw of orginal first Toshiba.

  I'm afraid there is nothing to do: (m
  The WinDVD platinum was supplied with the OS from Toshiba and it of not possible to install it without using the Toshiba Recovery CD!
  Toshiba image contains Windows OS, all Toshiba drivers, tools and utilities and additional software.
  All of these tools will be installed by using the recovery CD.

  But if you want, you can use a freeware DVD player. Search the web site for some useful tools

  By the way; The Toshiba drivers and utilities (but not WinDVD) can be downloaded from the page of European driver of Toshiba.
