I had to replace my motherboard and processor, now it will not except my vista OS disk because it is a disc of high level

My mother had crashed so, naturally, I replaced it with a much better and bigger processor, but now it will not except my Vista OS disk because it is a high quality disc.  My question can get just the windows upgrade version 7, or do I have to get the full version?

You have to buy a complete new installation of Windows 7.

Upgrade version of Windows 7 is good to upgrade a previous version installed and activated Windows.

If your Vista came pre-installed, so it's an OEM license - and replace the motherboard except in conditions of warranty is not allowed. Notice of MS, the card mother IS the computer
You will need to purchase a new FULL version commercial license and edition of Windows you want - from the motherboard is (probably) new, it must run Windows 7 with happiness.

  • Activation of Windows Vista after changing motherboard and processor

I bought a HP Pavilion Slimline PC (HP S3500z) with AMD Athlon Dual core, online from HP in the United States during the year 2008, which is preloaded with Windows Vista Home Premium. I did the recovery also disks at this time.

In May 2009, I came to the India and the PC was fine. This year, in October 2010, the PC has suddenly stopped booting and after discussing the nature of the problem with the HP online support, it was concluded that the motherboard has gone wrong.

I tried to locate to the motherboard, but it is not available and there are size constraints associated with the motherboard that can be mounted in the slimline PC... FINALLLY I could not well the same motherboard.

Now, I have no option but replace the motherboard and the processor from Intel to make...
But after the replacement of these two main components: the Vista downloaded on my PC will not recognize them and would require again activation...

I have not yet changed components and require the guidance on how to make this change followed in reactivation...

Please give information about the problem as early may so I'd go head and do what is necessary...

    Thank you and best regards

When you change the motherboard, you lose all rights to the OEM installed Vista OS.  It is called "tattoo" by HP and is a license agreement with Microsoft. Your only solution is to buy a version of the OS and sure, format the drive to lose all data. The only other alternative would have been to contact HP and ask questions on a refurbished motherboard, or a Board that is in the same group family who would accept the OEM license.

  • I had to replace my motherboard, that will affect my license of Vista?

I had to replace the motherboard on my desk.  My OS is Vista.  I wanted to know if it was all I had to do before I start the system again.  Thank you.

You probably need to reinstall Vista if it is a different model motherboard you have installed, as the installed operating system will not recognize the new hardware.

And, if a different motherboard, you can have all kinds of problems.

We do not know what type of license you have for reactivation after changing hardware.

  • Windows 7 genuine? New motherboard and processor

    Hello

My motherboard and processor is dead, and you can buy them is out, so I had to buy a different motherboard and a different processor. Nothing has changed. Windows 7 activated without problem, it says "The Activation was successful" and that my Windows 7 is "authentic".

What I've heard of before is now Windows 7 becoming not authentic after the installation of updates. Is this true? I have a legitimate copy of Windows bought on Amazon. I've already talked to Microsoft to see if I could turn on a new motherboard and CPU, and they said that the key was "good" and I could activate on the new Board of Directors and the CPU.

So is this windows genuine? I have no call at all MS activation. And it will become inauthentic after installing updates?

Thank you for your help. Happy new year!

    Alex

Very well. I was advised by Tom Hardware forums and Windows 7 Forum that as long as the button is activated, it will be good to use, and it can be activated because unlike most recent motherboards, the motherboard has no SLIC, integrated into the BIOS feature.

    Thanks for your help.

  • What are my options since I changed my motherboard and processor and now license is not valid?

Friends, I had problems with my old build of three year with windows 7 pro 64 oem.  only now, I discovered the reason for windows refuses to activate on new construction, that I had to do because of these problems. I didn't have to have a new motherboard and processor would make unnecessary the my copy of windows. It was in my mind that there where windows 'lived' was in the hard drive. one of the reasons why I had to build another 'computer' should make a visual studio 8 microsoft c ++ problem I could not find any solution. now after an unexpected and costly reconstruction, I don't have the money to get a new license. so now, I guess that in 13 days I no longer have a computer at all. It's incredibly disappointing for me. are there any other options out there for me? Thank you for your time and your consideration.

    Try again by phone:

  • I had to replace my motherboard - how to re - activate Acrobat DC?

I had to replace my motherboard (Intel NUC integrated CPU & GPU) after it didn't - even if the SSD and memory are the same, my DC Acrobat is now running in trial period.

How can I "transfer" the licence while I still have a spare part for the future?

    Hello

You can simply enable Acrobat DC. If in case, you need to activate Acrobat on another machine just contact an Adobe Customer Support using the activation.

  • HP S3120N. I replaced the motherboard and the power, now the recovery disks do not work.

I'm not so happy owner of a HP Pavilion S3120N. I am running windows vista home edition. The motherboard went out so I replaced it with a Zotac GeForce 8200 - ITX Wifi series. Now the computer says it is noa a hp solution valid, and the recovery disks do not work. is there a way to fix this without buying a new operating system?

Yes, return the Zotac motherboard and get an OEM HP/Compaq M2NC51-AR / HematiteXL-GL8E motherboard. I know that's not the answer you want to hear, but the recovery discs are locked to a specific set of HP/Compaq machines with specific HP OEM motherboards. Apart from this, you will need to buy a new OS.

  • After the new motherboard and processor installation Windows requires key, key to the sticker will not validate.

I installed a new motherboard and processor to my PC and now it's me demanding in the news two days to activate windows. I type the product key that is located on the sticker and it refuses to validate. Assistance is needed.

The key on the sticker code is assigned to the brand of the computer to which it is applied. Regardless of the brand, changed the m/b and the CPU (unless provided by the original manufacturer is a NEW computer.)

  • Motherboard and processor upgrades

Is there anyway I can find out what motherboard and processor will be compatible with my laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro L300-1FK and be an upgrade of the original equipment fitted. Toshiba has tried, but they don't want to know. I have the details of the specification for the processor and the motherboard and am looking for advice on where to find the technical information that will tell me what is happening with that without it breaking. Of the spec. sheet I have the motherboard was made by Toshiba and gives the chipset model and relevant details. The processor is an Intel Celeron 585 and once again have all the details of the spec... Have doubled from two to four memory and changed the hard drive for an SSD that has made a big difference in the speeding things up. If I can get just a better motherboard and processor so I'm home and dry. Can anyone help please?

You should contact Toshiba for this information.  Laptops do not have motherboards standards or processors, so you can't just buy one and put in it, it must be specially designed for your laptop.

My new applications have changed to try in creative cloud; and my installed applications will not authenticate.  I recently cancelled a single subscription and replaced by another.  Can you please look at it and correct?

Solution for Windows 8.1: Find the C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE folder.  Journal of creative cloud and end the Task Manager to task for creative cloud.  Starting of the OOBE folder, delete all THE files.  Do not delete the files (com.adobe.accc.apps & com.adobe.accc.home).  When you're done, restart creative cloud and journal ID and password.

I was in Lightroom and had a power surge and now Lightroom will not launch. He has encountered an error when reading the preview cache and needs to stop smoking. Lightroom will attempt to fix the next time it starts. I closed my system and Lightroom will not always start. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    You bet and Yes:

    * do not delete entire .lrdata folder

    * don't delete anything else

    Best?

If so, you can rebuild strength previews (e.g. standard previews of entire catalog) using library-> menu previews.

  • Windows, 3 beeps and new graphics card will not start

    Hello

has obtained a HP p6-2105eo, windows 7. At a radeon HD 5670 graphics card that works very well. Bought a Gigabyte GeForce GTX650 2 GB. Can see screen start and seems it does not respond by clicking the Esc key. I hear 3 beeps with a delay of 20 to 30 seconds after each beep. After several minutes (2-3 minutes), the screen goes black with a command prompt flashes at the top of the screen on the left and nothing more.

Think it might be damaged the card, so went to the store and got me a Gigabyte GeForce GTX660 OC 2 GB instead. The same problem.

Also updated to the latest version of the available for my motherboard BIOS to: 2012-08-14, Version7.16 Rev A, 2.87 M

Also already replaced at a 700W PSU, so that it can handle the best graphics cards.

So, what could the problem with the recent graphics cards in this office?

After numerous tests, such as reset cmos, bios reset, outside and inside with battery and so on... Nothing solved.

Re-tested with the old graphics card and started immediately.

After intensive research on Google, the BIOS is probably still too old to the new graphics card.

Yesterday, I replaced the motherboard and the problem disappeared. Works fine now with the new card.

Will use the older motherboard in an old computer instead, it isn't a total waste to replace.
