I have a VAIO can move free space from drive d to drive c? XP

Thank you

As Ken pointed out, you can do so if both disks are in fact only a single physical disk. However, I no longer starts you warned that it is possible for the process to corrupt system files and make Windows. The solution is to make a clone of your drive image hard if you do not have a Windows disc. If you do not have a Windows disk then simply back up your personal data before performing the action.

  • How to move free space from one Partition to the other?

I first got this computer (Dell, Windows 7) I had two I had two partitions, a C drive which had 50 GB and a D drive that had the rest of my 500 GB (approximately 397). now my c drive it filled and I can't get it all files to move on go drive D, then it's like I don't have any space left on my computer. I tried to reduce the amount of GB that were in the D drive, but it won't let me expand the fill c. and I can not just delete the D drive eather because I have files on there that I had to move to the course. is there a simple why i can shrink the D drive and extend the C drive?

Another option would be to leave the scores they were and redirect your Documents, photos etc to the bigger partition (I think that's what you were trying to do it before you tried to change the partitions) as described in the following link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Redirect-a-folder-to-a-new-location

As an administrator, I though I had permission.  How can I fix it?

I've only logged on as administrator.

Even logged on as administrator, you have not all privileges unless you raise them. This is done to prevent malware to take control of your computer when logged in as an administrator.

  • How can I transfer files from drive c to drive f internally

want to free up space between c and f records

    Hi luigi,

A good way to free up space from drive c would be if you have moved all your documents, videos and pictures on the f drive.

To do this, click Start, My Documents.

    Press Ctrl + a
on your keyboard to select the entire document.
    Press command + x
on your keyboard to copy everything.

    Click Start, my computer.
    Open drive f
Make new folder named 'my documents '.
Double-click the record that you did.
Right-click in the space emptey and click on paste.
    Start copying all your files.
When you are finished, My Documents on the start menu should be emptey, and all your files are on a F:\My Documents.

Click Start, right-click my documents, click Properties.
Change the target to F:\my documents
    Click OK
Now when you open my documents it should open the one on your F: drive.

If you need to free up more space, click on this thread and follow the instructions I gave: http://answers.microsoft.com/thread/da8f0306-5693-49da-8de9-1198b39acfc2

  • Can not defragment. I get a pop up message that I am low on memory and free disk space. I use the cleaning disc, but can not run Defragmenter. I have only 2 percent of free space, and it will not defragment.

a pop-up message tells me I have insufficient disk space and free up some disk space so I run the disc to clean and it removes some of the problems. • Lack of free space on drive C, where is he? How can I get that back?

I have my drive C 111 GB of capacity, I use about 59 GB of that, but still I have only about 16 GB of free. So miss me about 37 GB of free space, a third of the capacity of the disk. I have no idea where he is, I love him back. I managed to get about 8 GB of space by turning off the Hibernate option, so I now 16 GB.

I'm sorry for my English, check the picture so I'am unclear. Here-> http://postimg.org/image/b8uv6ta0v/full/

Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction?

It is not necessary to access the System Volume Information folder to manage the contents of the folder.

A better program of disk cleanup is cCleaner. cCleaner comes with a registry tool. Do not use this tool as any registry cleaner could lead to the creation of very difficult to resolve system errors.

    http://www.CCleaner.com/download

Delete System Restore points may be important if you have little free disk space. The ability to delete them is one of the tools options. You can selectively remove those created in less important moments. This makes it easier to hold the restore points for long periods without keeping large unwanted files, whose inflexible approach to disk cleanup fails to offer.

You cannot remove the last restore point using the cleaning disc or cCleaner. If the last restore point contains malicious software, you can turn off and then turn on system restore. This has the disadvantage that restore all points are removed when you want to keep more restore points that are not infected. How to get round this problem is to create a new restore point when you are satisfied with your computer is free of malware and then remove the infected restore point.

    http://www.gerryscomputertips.co.UK/maintenance3a.htm

You can resize the amount of disk space allocated for restore points. Select Start, Control Panel, system, System Protection, place the cursor on a Local Disk (C) (System). Click on the button configure, move the slider of the use of Max to the left to reduce disk space usage, click apply and then click OK. Restart your computer. Make sure you leave enough disk space to store at least four or five points restaurant.

I find it easier to use view, show details, directory tree show only and expand folders of interest. The following image was obtained in this way:

  • Insufficient 'Storage' error when I have half a gig of free space on the internal memory...

Cannot update or download new applications. I have 465 MB of internal storage space. Have you tried the "solution" offered on another thread here re: Uninstalling playstore updated and that did not work.

Get very frustrated with the z3 compact because it seems obvious that even with the ability to partially move apps to SD card it would never be enough space for this works as an AAA flagship phone. Sony had to know how many Android apps are bolted on taking the lion share of the internal memory. Why make a phone with this level of the plug and then skimp on some ugly cheap storage?

Yes, you can remove the card and backup your contacts and you can perform a repair using PC Companionsoftware. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1 to 2 hours until the device has so at least 80% battery.

Make sure that the device is not connected to the computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press the power button / stop and volume until what the machine vibrates 3 times or on some devices, it must push the small button near the tray on the back of the camera or SIM).

Open PC companion-> support area-> update phone software / Tablet-> repair my phone/Tablet blue highlighted. Follow the steps, do not plug your phone until you are prompted to press volume down while plugging in the USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you may need to run Windows 7 compatibility mode (in some cases XP).

Check the amount of space available on your computer and the rights to write to the destination folder. I administrar 1.38 TB of free space and total control.

    @ Pleomaxx

Try using EASEUS Partition Manager, it can create a partition unallocated to another disk, also you can resize your partition to a limited space, if you have lots of free space on any other location on disk.

    http://www.partition-tool.com

    OR

Try using Disk Cleanup to clean unnecessary temp files. files and other.

Click on 'Computer', then click on when the location of the local drive, click "Properties", click "Disk Cleanup". It'll scan all of the files and folders. After that, choose clean-up of your files as miniature, temporary files etc., also you the cleaning system is to restore and shadow copies on a different tag. • How can I know which files are accessed more so I can move them to another drive

My C drive is constantly busy and is indexed to 100% much of the time.  My swap file is on my S drive and its activity is very low. How can I know what is causing all the readers of the activity on my C drive so I can move some things my S, or other?

I realize it is not easier to simply move the files, I might have to reinstall some applications or other things. But for now, I don't know what are the files or applications, roll to the top of the activity on my C drive.

You can use performance monitor. Type perfmon in the "Search" box and press "Enter."

Open the drive section by clicking on the arrow

To identify individual files in more detail, you will need the Windows Performance Toolkit

    http://msdn.Microsoft.com/en-us/performance/cc709422

    http://msdn.Microsoft.com/en-us/performance/cc825801

Download as part of the WIndows SDK from here:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/dlx/en-us/listdetailsview.aspx?FamilyId=6b6c21d2-2006-4AFA-9702-529fa782d63b

Select this option for components you need.

There is a video on the use of the tool here: http://channel9.msdn.com/Events/PDC/PDC09/CL16

At a glance, use Process Explorer to identify the source of the e/s:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/Sysinternals/bb896653

On the file menu, click "show details for all processes."

On the view menu, click on "Select columns" and check the deltas of reading and writing.

You can also use the process monitor:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/Sysinternals/bb896645

This will show you the operations of individual files so the amount of data will be huge. If a Visual inspection reveals anything, you can export the data to a csv file and use a spreadsheet to a total activity for each file.

  • Can I move free space of the disk D drive I have win XP and have 14g on C almost all used and 149 free d

I'm not familiar with the procedure any help and if I can't d o he

You will need a third-party partitioning such as Acronis Disk Director or Gparted program. Back up your data first because things happens. Otherwise just copy your data to D:\ files and then delete them to C:\. It works for files such as photos, music, documents, etc. If you want to install on D:\ real programs, you must uninstall them and then reinstall them using the desired partition.
