  So yes, I tried to call microsoft for some time, but can not get a person, and the machine cannot help. I also tried the Fix - it program. So yes, I could really use some help, I tried to understand this for quite awhile.

  Edit: I did a search in all files and folders, and my computer found no netfx.msi (I also tried to run) which is the place where I think that my computer wanted Net 1.1 sp1 must be installed...

  a. create a folder named 'Framework' at the root of the C: drive.
  i. open workstation.
  II. right-click on "Local disk, C:" and select 'open '.
  III. on top of windows, select 'File' and then 'new' then 'folder '.
  IV. This will create a new folder and leave the cursor in the box .and files name 'framework '.
  b. download the Microsoft .net Framework v1.1-
  http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=262D25E3-F589-4842-8157-034D1E7CF3A3
   
  and save it in the C:\Framework folder
   
  c. download the Microsoft .net Framework v1.1.4322 Service Pack 1.
  http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=A8F5654F-088E-40b2-bbdb-A83353618B38 & displaylang = in
   
  and save it in the C:\Framework folder
  (d) extract the required files by running the following commands from the
  Start-Run dialog box:
  C:\Framework\dotnetfx.exe t:c:\framework\extracted\ / c
  e. clear the Temp folder:
  i. Select 'Start' and then 'run '.
  II. Type "%temp%" without the quotes, and then select OK.
  III. delete all the files found and if they won't erase continue to another.
  f. install .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 of
  c:\framework\NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-x86.exe, if this attempt fails for some reason any
  Please, do the following and send me the c:\sp1.log that results.
  g. remove the SP in the root of C by using the following command from the
  Start, and then run the dialogue:
  C:\Framework\NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-x86.exe /xp:c:
  h. do the following to install the connection using the following command
  from the start-> Run dialog box:
  msiexec /p c:\S867460.msp/l * v c:\sp1.log REINSTALL = ALL
  * If the file is not found, please do the following as we saw some
  systems to extract the file in the local folder instead.
  msiexec /p c:\framework\S867460.msp/l * v c:\sp1.log REINSTALL = ALL
  I. Si you are prompted for the 'netfx.msi' navigate to the location
  c:\framework\extractedetfx.msi, Installation should continue without
  error.

  1 > when downloading files, a file has the extension. . 7z.

  2 > after downloading this file, it is shown as a document file in my download directory... I didn't know how to go on this subject...

  3 > Finally I'm brilliant and checked on the internet what one. file 7z is and found it's a file compressed in open source.

  4 > I downloaded the 7. zipper Zip software and who ran on the file object

  5 > guess what... it opened files and I went to installCS4 without a flaw.

  I answer largely your kind response in the hope someone else, like me not so computer literate/smart,

  will not loose several days to fix this problem.

  If it is a subscription, then all you need is to connect on adobe.com using your credentials to Adobe and download the software.

  You said "UAC" then you run Vista or Windows 7. You have posted in a forum for the XP operating system. But since you're here - the Sonic MYDVD program you are trying to install is too old and is not supported on the operating system you are using. Purchase of a new program that will do what you want. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  Click Install now
  Accept the license agreement
  When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

  Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

  The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

  The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.
