  CS6 has been unsupported for some time now. In order to use the new cameras RAW files, you will need to use free Adobe's DNG Converter:

  I'm having a problem serious when I tried to update the Camera Raw plugin for 8 items on Mac. I downloaded the appropriate update (ElementsCameraRaw - 6.3 - mul - AdobeUpdate.dmg, which is specified for Elements 8). Inside, I found an app (AdobePatchInstaller), but when I run it, it said that it takes Adobe Application Manager. I downloaded Adobe Application Manager 1.5 for Mac and installed, but when I tried again to install the Camera Raw update it says that the update is not applicable. I think that maybe the Application Manager version isn't good (it is said CS5, but I have not found one for elements).

  Your device is too recent to run on PSE11. You must upgrade to PSE13, then use the menu help/update to be able to use the version 9 of the cab.

  If you don't want to upgrade, you can use Adobe's DNG Converter for free. See this faq:

  AdobePDF.dll is in the file Data1.cab. Mine is located in C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Acrobat8\Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional\ You need to extract the file "AdobePDF.dll_64" from the .cab file. You can do this with WinZip or 7-Zip. Everything you need to extract is this file, nothing else... Once you have extracted it, remove the _64, so the name of the file is AdobePDF.dll. Then place the file in any location you want and run the program it when asked. For a file location, I suggest to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Acrobat8\

  I am trying to open some a Panasonic Lumix LX3 RAW files.  I realize that the RAW 4.1-5 elements does not open these RAW files, but I'm going round in circles trying to find the correct update.

  In an area of the site, it says that I need RAW 4.5.  When I click on this link, it seems not to apply to the 5 elements.  I already downloaded the DNG Converter 5.2, while the elements 5 RAW 4.1 does not open the LX3.  Is there an elements 5 RAW plugin update which will open the Panasonic Lumix LX3 RAW files?  If Yes, where is it?  I don't want to spoil my PC if I install the wrong update.

  If you need to open the files from a newer camera, you can use the 7.1 DNG Converter to convert the dng files copies to open in pse 8.

  You will need to download the latest version of the DNG Converter and convert your raw images to DNG (Digital negative).  Be sure to set the option to use Camera Raw 4.6 and later.  If you are using a Mac, the DNG Converter only works on files (at least that is my understanding).  On the PC, it is possible to convert individual images.  In any case, the DNG Converter is a solution.  The other solution is to upgrade to a new version of Photoshop.  Your choice.
