I have a late 2009 iMac. When I tried to upgrade to El Capitan. He said that the CHIP shows the h/d is a failure and can not be updated. I have install an external withEl of h/d Cap but it is very slow. the h/d is USB 3 but the iMac's USB 2. the h/d is only 5400 RPM. a 7200 RPM 7 / would accelerate the iMac?

No, because the limiting factor is the computer is USB 2.0, which is how it connects any external drive apart the external drive. As USB 2.0 is much slower, there is no real advantage to a 7200 RPM drive. What you need is a Firewire enclosure that supports FW800 which is much faster than USB 2.0.

The question is limited to Skype?

  • Downloaded 7 FF, but every time that I load the page goes to FF updated version and can not go on all Web sites?

I used FF for 3 years, just upgraded to FF7 - but when I go to browser FF, I get a screen that says I'm on Firefox update/releases page and nothing happens, I can not load any website or search - basically it just freezes.
    I use a Macbook
    Thank you

One possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or limits Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.

Delete all rules for Firefox in the list of permissions in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

  • Window of email Outlook Express is lost on the side of the monitor and can not be read or moved. How to open the middle of my screen? Lorraine

Windows XP.    I use Outlook Express to get my e-mail address.    When I open the e-mail message, he disappears on the side of the monitor with just a tad showing so I know it's there.   I can't move it with my mouse.  I have to click on the advice of the taskbar, click on maximize and then it fills the screen.  How can I get the e-mail to open in the middle of the screen, and hiding on the edge?

    Thank you.

I'm not familiar with Outlook Express, but here are a couple of common solutions for windows that are out of the screen as you describe...

    (1) with the active window (as when you open just it), press Alt-space, and then press the button "M".  Then try using the arrow keys on the keyboard to bring the window on the screen.  Press "Enter" to move the window.  If it works, try to close the window at this time (I hope that it will save the current position of the window), and then reopen it.

    (2) try a right click on an empty space in the taskbar and select "Cascade Windows".

  • Received the error that my operating system has been installed too many times and does not allow installation.

installs Windows is no longer permitted

Hi, my sons computer crashed several times due to hardware problems. It resulted in windows being installed several times. He just had a disk crash and after installing a new disk, windows indicate that the key has been used repeatedly, not allowing an installation again. How can I fix it?

Use the Activate by phone and speak to a live operator.

    Activate by phone

    Click the Start button
    in the search box, type
    SLUI 4
    and press the Enter key
Follow the instructions - but when asked which service you need the ansafone phone, don't answer - it should oblige the operator to answer, who can deal with you.

I received an email that appears to come from the Windows Live team and contains MSN icons.  It is said that it is the final notice about a update of 2011 and asks I answered and confirm several pieces of personal information within 2 weeks or my account will be permanently closed.  He asked that I come home from a series of letters to confirm the validity of the email.  It is said that it is because there is a change in the service.  This is spam and if so, how to report, because there certainly seems genuine, but looks very suspicious.  The sender is * address email is removed from the privacy *.

Avoid scams that use the Microsoft name fraudulently

Cybercriminals often include the names of well-known companies, such as ours, in their scams. They think it will convince you to give them money or your personal information. While they usually use e-mail to you wrong, that they sometimes use the phone instead.

Common scams that use the Microsoft name

    • "You have won the Microsoft Lottery"
    • Microsoft "requires credit card information to validate your copy of Windows.
    • Microsoft sends unsolicited e-mail with attached security updates
    • A person of "Microsoft Support" calls to fix your computer

    Avoid these dangerous hoaxes

If you receive an unsolicited e-mail or phone call which is supposed to be from Microsoft, and request that you send personal information or click on the links, delete the email or hang up the phone .

You did not win the "Microsoft Lottery".

Microsoft customers are often the target of a scam that uses e-mail messages falsely promising money. Victims receive messages saying: 'You have won the Microsoft Lottery!' There is no Microsoft Lottery. Delete the message.

If you have lost money to this scam, report it . You can also send the police report to Microsoft and we will use it to help law enforcement catch criminals who send these e-mails.

For more information, see Microsoft report fraud Lottery . To protect yourself against these e-mail hoaxes, you can use the same general orientation you use to protect yourself from phishing scams to protect you from these e-mail hoaxes.

Microsoft sends no communication unsolicited on security updates

When we publish information about a security software update or security incident, send us e-mail messages only to subscribers of our security communications program.

Unfortunately, Cybercriminals have benefited from this program. They sent fake security messages that appear to come from Microsoft. Some messages to attract the recipients to Web sites to download spyware or other malicious software. Others include an attachment that contains a virus . Delete the message. Do not open the attachment.

    Legitimate security communications from Microsoft

    • Legitimate communications do not include software updates as attachments. We never attach software updates to our security communications. On the contrary, we refer customers to our Web site for more information on the update or the software security incident.
