Hi can onyone give sollution for that. I tried the disk management, but it gives an error

Dynamic disks are not supported by this operating system or the configuration of the server. Dynamic disks are not supported on clusters message appears when trying to partition the hard disk

Original title: disk partitioning hard problem

I have an hp-Pavilion G6 NOTEBOOK with windows 7 home basic edition pre-installed.
There 2 partitions (drive Local c & D recovery)
so I tried to partition the C: drive, then I opened the computer and then management disk management and I used the option "shrink" to shrink the C: drive for maximum of unallocated space and then I clicked the new unallocated space and then on "new simple volume" and I will attached the process until I reached the last step of partitioning and click 'Finish' and then I get this message : "The operation you selected will convert the selected basic disks and dynamic disks. If you convert the dynamic disks, you will not be able to start the operating systems from any volume on the disks (except the current boot volume). Are you sure you want to continue? »
When I click on 'Yes' this message appears: "the dynamic disks are not supported by this operating system or the configuration of the server. Dynamic disks are not supported on clusters. »

When I try to create the "new simple volume" once again, I get the same messages.

so now the (C is shrunk, but I can't create the new partition (new simple volume).)

Please help me if you can, and as soon as you can.
Pls reply as soon as possible.

Hello pramod478. I understand that you are having problems creating new partitions on your installation of Windows 7 Edition basic family?

When you try to change the main operating system partition, it creates a dynamic disk. This means that you change the start and finish of the score, among other things. Unfortunately, Windows 7 Home Basic does not support this feature, you need professional or ultimate edition for these features. He can't stand that creating and editing of new basic volumes. This means that if you had a blank HDD soft you could change the partitions there, but will not be able to change the size of the current partitions.

Here is a list that displays the differences between the versions of Windows 7. In addition, here more information about basic disks and dynamic. I hope that I was helpful!
