  Full disclosure: I reached to reconnect cable and pressed my chest against my keyboard while the computer was in mode 'sleep', with Firefox running in background.   Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.

  So I put a master password on my account and then now I can not connect to it because I forgot. I don't want to have to switch back to Outlook and really want to continue to use Thunderbird. I tried various solutions on the support forums, for example by changing the expression in tools, hit Cancel a couple of times but nothing. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird, deleted the AppData folder and reinstalled and still it still invites me to enter the password. Thunderbird doesn't even come to the top in the background, just the prompt to enter the master password.
