If I export the Favorites to internet explore that they will remain in firefox?
I would like to export firefox bookmarks to internet explore without losing them in firefox.
No, you'll never lose bookmarks in Firefox if export you an HTML backup or to a JSON backup.
If you include an HTML backup then these bookmarks will be merged to the existing bookmarks.
Restoring a backup JSON in Firefox however will replace all existing bookmarks and you get a warning about it.

Favorites still stay in Internet Explorer, once they are transferred to the Chrome
Original title: Favorites
If I transfer my Win7 for Google Chrome Favorites, a copy of my favorites remains with Win7?
Hello
Welcome to the Microsoft community!
You want to know that if you pass the Favorites to Internet Explorer in Chrome, make copies of files remain in Internet Explorer.
If you import bookmarks to Internet Explorer to Chrome, you simply transfer a copy of the files and they will continue to be available with Internet Explorer.
You can consult the site:

I tried all the options under all items 'Help' to find my missing Favorites ("Favorites") from IE, and nothing has worked. When I tried 'Import of IE', he loaded a list of Favorites at least a year. I can't find the current bookmarks that are stored in the folder "From Internet Explorer". When I click on the Favorites (Star) icon in the upper right corner, the menu no longer displays the option to select "from Internet Explorer". The only thing I have not tried is the "Restore" option available in the "library" under "Import and backup" window: I don't know which of the files listed is correct, and the instructions careful that whatever files are chosen now will replace the previous file. I don't want to accidentally erase all my stored Favorites (hundreds of them) and end up with only the bookmarks I saved just recently - I don't want to end up with a set of (old) Favorites obsolete.
You can find the entry menu import into the Manager of bookmarks (library)
- Bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > import data from another browser
- http://KB.mozillazine.org/Import_bookmarks
If you can't find the IE Favorites in the folder ("Internet Explorer") or have problems with import favorites IE in Firefox, then export favorites in Internet Explorer to a HTML file and import this file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
This way also preserve you a sort that you did with the Favorites in Internet Explorer and the Favorites don't end up in a folder "from Internet Explorer", but will be added at the end of the file Menu bookmarks.
If you don't have the menu bar in Internet Explorer, and then right-click on the toolbar above to activate the menu bar.- Export Favorites in Internet Explorer to a file (bookmarks.html) HTML: file > import and export
- Import the HTML file in Firefox: bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > import HTML: from a file

Till, thank you very much, I solved the problem by dragging the icon on the desktop. At first I thought it was much more complicated because it actually is, and that's why I failed initially

I am running Mozilla Firefox under Windows 7 Ultimate 20.0.1.
I'm trying to import favorites from Internet Explorer 9.0.15.
If the bookmark has a subdirectory, I don't get any of the links in the subdirectory. It didn't happen on my other computers:
Internet Explorer 8 Windows XP Professional
Internet Explorer 9 on Windows 7 ProfessionalThis incomplete import sometimes for unknown reasons.
You can manually export your IE Favorites and then import them into Firefox by using an HTML file as intermediate format. This thread has the steps: only 1/3 of my imported IE Favorites. How can I move the rest?
It work?

The equivalent of "Favorites" in Internet Explorer contains bookmarks?
Where are my registered sites registered? Also, am I able to 'share' the file on my local network? I have a desktop PC and a laptop connected to my network. I want to do is make sure I have save (or favorite?) a site on the laptop or desktop, it is available on both. Does make sense? If I need to do a better job explaining let me know. Currently, I share with success the IE folder 'Favorites' so links are always in sync and the same links are available on both of my machines.
Hello soundprodj, yes what is called favorites in Internet Explorer contains bookmarks in firefox - but other than IE, firefox does not store individual files in the file system, but in an internal database.
You can use firefox sync to share your bookmarks firefox/history etc. between different devices: -
I could not import my favorites IE current to Mozilla favorite. Instead, I find myself with my IE favorites as they were earlier this year.

When Firefox is set to zero, then a new profile is created and some of your data (Favorites, history, cookies, passwords, data form) is imported automatically your current profile will be moved on the desktop (old data of Firefox).
You will lose the extensions and other customizations (toolbars, Pref.) that you have made.It is possible to recover more data from the old profile, but be careful to avoid transporting on the problem.
