• Use Illustrator for several page document?

  I'm usually the FrameMaker and, to some extent, areas of InDesign, but a potential client asked me to work on a document for them.

  They are doing a reference guide fast (I guess a single sheet folded into six panels, or multiple sheets folded and stapled into a booklet) and plan to do in Illustrator.

  I've done these before in InDesign, but wanted to know if there is some capacity in Illustrator to make the document there, for one of the above formats.

  Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you!

  Yes!

  To do this, you use the functionality of the artboard in Illustrator. When you create a new document, specify the number of workplans (aka pages) you need and the amount of space between, etc. Once you have your document updated in place, to zoom out and see all the work plans outlined in the grid you specified. If you don't see it, make sure that "show the work plans" is checked in the view menu.

  You will not be able to create a master page, as you can in India, but you can stick to the same place on all work plans - I think that the command (mac) is command + shift + option + V. Cut you the original (command + x) item and then paste it in place on all pages.

  Interesting information:

  • If you open the palette of the artboard, you can name the work plans. When you export, say described SPE, you can choose 'use work plans' and you will get a separate eps file for each WITH THE NAME of the palette of the graphic board work plan, plus a file with all the plans of working together. Record in PDF format made a several page PDF as you would expect. You can choose out of a work plan.
  • Also, with the artboard open palette, you can double-click on a name of the artboard and Illustrator will pass to the artboard in format full screen. Very convenient when you have a lot of work plans.
  • You can change the layout of your work plans by clicking in the upper right of the palette of the artboard and choosing reorganize work plans (or something close to that). Make sure that everything is unlocked, otherwise they move with the new drink.
  • And finally, you can change the size of a work plan using the work plan of the tool palette tool or by double-clicking the artboard icon in the palette, which will bring up a dialog box...

  I'm a fan of InDesign, I feel your pain. One of my clients is a manufacturer of items sold at retail for which we design and prepare for the printing of many packages/donor cards, etc. Before the existence of the function of work plan, we had a separate Illy file for each SKU. He permits to be much more organized, and you don't get hit with seven gazillion files when you open a folder. (I tried to get them to convert into India, but really, it is not set up for this type of use, so I had to learn the ins and outs of the Illustrator and have come to appreciate for many things. Unfortunately, manipulation of type is not one of them, but it is designed to make designs, not the value type).

• HP6500A more: top of page cut off when printing and copying on HP 6500 a Plus.

  My printer has recently begun systematically cut the top of the page when I copy or print from my computer.  I searched the site for possible corrections and have checked all the firmware/drivers and all are up-to-date.  So far, none of the suggested corrections seem to do anything.  New ideas or known problems?

  I'm not a Mac guy, but it may just be a power problem, where the rolls are not picking up the paper correctly.  First thing to try is a test page.  If she clips the top as it does in the other pages, I will try following the steps described inthis document to clean the rolls of selection.  If the test page prints correctly, it may be something to do with the printer driver or software, or a combination of both, in which case I hope one of the Mac experts on the site can ring in.

  You have to trash your preferences before it will work again. This has been discussed before.

• HP Officejet 6100 cut the top of the page when printing

  I use a printer HP Officejet 6100 with Windows 8.  Sometimes the printer has trouble grasping the page to print. Printing starts at the top of the page - cut on top of what is being printed. Does not happen all the time, but often I have to reprint for a picture with appropriate boundaries. It's printin 4 photos per page.

Unlike IE8 which had a yellow bar appears at the top of the page of the mail telling me that they had prevented the illustrations and if I wanted to see the full page... I would then click on the yellow box and all the illustrations on the page would be allowed!

  So, how can I get these illustrations/photos to appear when I know its from a trusted site? I see nothing on the page that now allows me to do as he did on IE8

• Outline of the page clipping mask

  Hello

  I'm working with a file that was given to me by someone and I'm unable to navigate the clipping masks - one in particular.

  Around the edge of the page is an object which is invisible, but is highlighted with a blue area when I go over it.  It is exactly at the edge of the page.  If I click and drag, all the objects in the file move together, so it seems that it is all a group.  However, the right click menu has release/isolate clipping mask options, so I guess it's a clipping mask.  When I isolate and study objects (literally all other objects in the document) I see that there are to many small clipping masks used to "reframe" the images - I can see clearly how these clipping masks are used.  When I release the large external clipping mask, all of the capture of small masks are released (not what I want!).  When I go to object > clipping mask > Edit content, all objects in the document become selected, as in isolation mode, even if most of the objects don't have/all cut.

  So what is this thing for?  I want to be able to work with the objects inside this large group clipping mask (without having to click in the insulation everytime mode), but I can't get rid of it without destroying the small clipping masks, which I want to keep intact.

  I've also seen these clipping masks full page when editing pdf outputs R and Matlab.  In these cases I have just release all because all masks clipping in these situations are foreign.  I just mention this to show that the grouping full-page cutting masks seem to be something that is commonly used.  What is the purpose?

  Hold down the keys before rarely works on PC. Use the manual method.

  Open Windows Explorer and go to Folder Options > tab, then check the box to show the hidden files and folders so you can see the folders, you have to find.

• PDF exported from InDesign background missing when open in Illustrator

  Hello, I have a bit of a frustrating problem.

  I'm working on the graphics for a large project, and I need to get some of my InDesign files in Illustrator (they are two CS5) for our printer.

  I would have normally designed them in Illustrator, but my graphics are in InDesign and we just found out once we started on production, it needs to HAVE and needs our trim road put in place for our irregular forms.

  For MOST documents, its fairly easy summer (export in PDF format > open in illustrator and making a cut path > save as HAVE) However, I have this file which makes me lose my mind.

  When I export to PDF, it opens perfectly and seems normal in acrobat, and I also see in the preview as well. The background appears and everything. However when I opened the PDF in illustrator it completely loses the background. I noticed this before a few graphics, but I assumed it was because they had gradients, drop shadows and transparencies and all that. This file has degraded anything weird with the exception of a background of gray.

  Help? I included a few screenshots of what is happening in the hope that you guys can help solve.

• I'm trying to install illustrator adobe CS5 cd, but it will not be installed

  When I install the message "Installer failed to initialize" displays. Then, he advises to download Adobe Support Advisor. I did it but will advise not to answer (I already installed Adobe Air). I have also run the Adobe cleaning tool.

  Run the Creative Suite cleanup tool and clean the temporary files created during installation in your temp directory. Additioanlly, check your task manager to end all instances of setup.exe and msiexec.exe that may still be running

• You can export images that have been glued in an Illustrator document as separate files?

  I have a document Illustrator of several pages (more than 50 work plans) which contains a lot of images that are all stored in the document (without link in separate files) and all images must be exported as separate image files (similar to when you compress a file in Indesign). The problem is the files are not related, they are all saved in the document.

  You want to avoid having to copy + paste each image into a new document in Photoshop, then save them individually because it will take forever.

  Save the PDF document and open it in Photoshop. Select only the Images in the dialog box open and continue from there.

• Landscape of Acrobat 8 had cut

  good day everyone, I'm intrigued by this weired question and could not find

  similar post on the forum.

  A user uses acrobat 8 to convert excel to PDF. The excel sheet is set in landscape mode and all the air well in print preview. However, once the user converted to pdf format, the right side got cut in the pdf document that. When I try the conversion on my workstation with acrobat 9, the page appears correctly.

  When I use the file-> print. Select adobe pdf as the printer and check print Studio, the show still got right page cut even if it has already been fixed for the landscape and legal-size paper.

  any thoughts on that? Is there a setting I ned change in acrobat 8 to make it work like acrobat 9 fact about this type of conversion?

  I use 300 dpi because of problems that I had with some line drawings under 1200 dpi. The 300 DPI solved the problem. Generally, it takes more than 1200. Many people recommend 600 dpi. There used to be another problem that arise with 1200 and went with 600. It's just what works for you.
