Image > adjustments > Hue-Saturation / Ctrl U crashes CS4

I've been running CS4 for about five months. There has been problems - speed, stability - but here's a new. Out of the blue, choose the Hue-Saturation Panel room rthrough menu or by combination of keys displays the eyedropper - operation - but essentially blocks Photoshop. It goes on running - you get 'blind' menus - but it is impossible to turn off the eydropper and you must therefore close CS4 in Windows. I rebooted, it still happens. I am sworn to reinstall before knowing if there is Marius for this.

I do not repeat the same mantra, but have you tried to reset your preferences, as described in the FAQ.

http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/375776?TSTART=0

You must physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if you use the Alt, Ctrl, and shift, don't forget you get a confirmation dialog box.

This resets all settings in Photoshop default.

(A complete uninstall/reinstall will not affect preferences and a corrupted file may be the cause of the problem.)

  • mixing a background image - hue/saturation in gray

Thanks for your help. I'm trying to mix a background image, as shown in this video:

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=xSehcaWFBVM

Rather than use the tool of superposition, the Lady in the video suggests to use the option "hue and saturation" to melt the photo with the background. I get all the way to this step, but then the "hue and saturation" option (and there is pretty much all of the options under image - adjustments are gray.) The 'modes' for the background and the photo are the same (RGB and 8-bit). I've been at this for hours (> 4) and I just can't take this step. I would be extremely grateful for the help as to how I could "liberate" the setting possibilities and have that look of photo similar to one shown in the video.

    Thank you.

You have selected a dynamic object, not a normal layer.

You cannot run most of the adjustments on dynamic objects.  You will need to use an adjustment layer instead.

  • In Photoshop, CC (2014), the properties of Hue/Saturation adjustment layer disappear

I am under Photoshop CC (2014) under Windows 7 Professional.  The program is updated.

Today, when you change an 8-bit image, I added a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer.  Then, in the properties panel for this layer, with the on-image adjustment tool selected, I clicked on a colour in the picture to get a range of colors including saturation I wanted to settle.  Then, using the saturation slider in the properties panel, I increased saturation of this color range. Finally, I closed the properties panel by clicking on the double arrow in the upper right.

Later, I wanted to change this adjustment layer.  I double-clicked on the thumbnail of the layer to reopen the properties panel and found that, while the increase previous saturation still worked, the saturation slider was back to its default position, and the range of colors that I had previously established was gone.  So, I couldn't make other settings for this range of colors.

I then did some additional tests: I deleted the first Hue/Saturation adjustment layer and created a new adjustment layer Hue/Saturation . I created there still a range of colours as mentioned above, has further increased the color saturation, and then again closed the properties panel by clicking on the double arrow in the upper right corner.  This time, however, when I tried to change this adjustment layer, instead of a double click on the thumbnail of the layer to reopen the properties panel, I clicked on the layer and then clicked «Edit adjustment...» "This opens the properties panel, which, this time, correctly showed my original settings - the saturation slider positive adjustment that I've done before, and the range of colors created earlier was still shown. But then, on a hunch, I added a curves adjustment above the adjustment layer Hue/Saturation layer.  Now, when I open the properties of the Hue/Saturation adjustment layer panel again (by right-clicking on the layer and then clicking on "change the adjustment...) "), my previous settings were left - the saturation slider was to its default position and the range of colors was gone!  (But the increase in saturation still worked.)

This suggests that there is a bug in the operation of the properties of the Hue/Saturation layer panel: in short, once you've added an additional adjustment layer, you can then go back and change the Hue/Saturation layer properties.  I am curious to know if others have noticed this.  In addition, Adobe provides to this address?

OK, I'm not entirely sure I understood your message completely, but when you edit a range of colors with hue/Sat layer, and click and then back on again, it will default to showing the RGB values, which you can not make any adjustment to.  If you choose the previous color of the image, or a similar color, it _will_ show you adjustments.  As long as your picked color is contained in the previous adjustment range.

YPU may also use the RGB fall down (actually they call him master today) and chose the closest color of your color previously selected.  I hope that you are not you can change the color range operated by dragging the four sliders on the two bars of color at the bottom of the properties panel.

That makes sense, or I'm going the wrong way?

  • CC equivalent to Image > adjustments > variations

Is there a CC Photoshop equivalent to the Image > adjustments > Variations tool available in earlier versions?

Levels, curves, Hue/Saturation. They all allow you to do the same thing, but the user interface is very different. And even aren't the only options, there are a lot of ways to spend the balance of the colors in a picture.

  • Image > adjustments will not

Hey everyone, I'm Steven! I'm working on a sci-fi spacescape wall for my art class, and I'm having a little trouble in the field of the star-scape. See, whenever I do anything on the tab "Image > settings ' at the top of Photoshop, preview on my page makes it look just how I want it, but after I click OK or apply, it either goes back to the right to how it was before I made the adjustment, or he does to a certain extent, it just goes back to halfway.

For example, when I click on "Add noise", then go to Image > adjustments > levels to streamline the noise resemble stars, as a base to my starscape layer and get it perfect with the right amount of contrast and everything, when I click OK, it just goes back to loud awful noise. Now, I added adjustment layers, but those all under their influence, and kind of need that to be precise. I tried to change my mode 32, 16 and 8-bit and RGB to CMYK and others. If someone could help me, I would be really grateful! Thank you!

    (P.S. I use CS4, if that helps)

    Steven.

OK, just a test, do a Ctrl + J (duplicate layer), with the background, or the active layer image. Apply your changes to that. They stick?

Also, make sure that NOTHING on your layer is locked.

    Good luck

  • Image > adjustments > exposure is Bugged and I need immediate assistance!

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but the Image > adjustments > exposure is buggy. It started when I updated to the latest version this week. I use this more than anything else, so it KILLS me that I can't use it. What is happening is this:

    Click on the exhibition.

Gives me an eyedropper tool instead of the usual area with the adjustment sliders. The pipette is the ONLY thing for me. I can't click any other tool, preferably, save, Nada. I CAN NOT EVEN STOP IT. HOWEVER, I tried to take a shot as soon as possible while the PS has been pulled up and he gave me a picture of the EXPOSURE BOX WITH THE SLIDERS to screen. Why he's hiding?

Nothing leaves me PS after I clicked on the exhibition. I constantly have to try to stop the program in effect, and then it CRASHES. Ever time. It's really bad my work output so if anyone knows anything on this subject so please help!

What operating system? Mine works fine on Mac OS 10.11.6, PS 2015.5.1.

You could try deleting your preferences.

I do not have Photoshop CS6 extended, which has the new Image > adjustments > variations... toolpath.  I only have Photoshop CS6 addition so if someone can share with me a substitution toolset that can give me results similar to the use of the old "Image > adjustments > variants...," I'd appreciate it.

As far as I know, Variations has been removed from the service standard/extended cs6 photoshop and photoshop cc on the side of mac

You can use the levels instead of variations.

  • Try to select 'yellow' in hue/saturation, but it remains only "red".

    Hi-

I am totally new to Photoshop (CS6 on Windows) and problems. I made a copy of the background and hue/saturation selected in the settings panel. I chose predefined custom and the little hand icon, I chose "yellow" to correct the yolks in my image. When I click on 'yellow' choosing this slider, nothing happens.

Yes, I know that the sliders will be completely different colors. My problem is that even when I choose to see the yellow cursor, I see only the red. I can't have one red for change or disappear.

I think you may have a problem with your expectations is only to what you see.  Plus you don't have quite enough large properties panel, and I bet that you did not notice the scroll bar.

The color of the Saturation slider is always red.  It's just a visual indication that the saturation will be lower if you pull the slider to the left.

The thing to look at is the double "Rainbow" at the bottom.

When you select yellow, you see the little gray indicators between Rainbows?  I did an arrow at them here:

A power user is the fact that you can actually exist to adjust that range by dragging the pieces of this little control.  You can expand or restrict or make its effect more gradual or abrupt.
