  The error "suddenly come to an end" is usually caused by interference from an antivirus program. What antivirus do you use? Some of them are causing problems with Windows Mail over time. At a minimum, email, scanning in the antivirus must be turned off, although maybe it's not enough to eliminate all the bad effects.   I don't think that the download is finished.

  1. Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program.
  2. Uncheck the option to check for messages every X minutes.

  See if the download is finished now. If this is the case, leave analysis off e-mails, but check again the other option. If you still have questions, ask the experts here. More in this forum which I belong do not use Windows Live Mail.

  Apparently not answered my question, even if it is requested - a lot!  Here once again is:

  I can receive but not send mail with Windows Live Mail.  I have a new laptop - less than 1 week, running Windows 7 Home.
  I set up my email accounts exactly the same as in Outlook on my old machine.  I have them set up on my phone without problem as well.  Only it does not work with Windows Live Mail.

  I have McAfee Firewall and Virus Checker - which I disabled it according to other positions.  Not good, it won't send.  No matter what I do, this is the error:

  1. If you do not include the full error message, no one can help. Reveal your server won't cause problems.

  Well, took me a few hours and without the help of a person (TIP!), I've fixed it. Remove the live mail client account and re-apply / restore the account. Solves what seems to be a sync error. -19 October 2011

It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages.   Check to make sure that the account works fine by logging on to webmail.  If it works, then try deleting your e-mail account and then close and reopen WinMail (if this is your e-mail program) and then add your account again.  You can also try to compact and repair the database (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) and see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 to eliminate the problems of the antivirus.  If everything which does not help do, there may be a message coming to dump on the server making it impossible to download the rest of the messages from WInMail.  If yes then you can try to delete messages in webmail or to have your ISP to delete the problem message to clear the queue.
