  Today to import my video iPhone and try to select in the project, which is part of the clip, but automatically select the entire clip... In other works, simply place the mouse on the clip and drag to complete... Why not now?

  

  It's a feature, not a bug, that you can't drag a portion of a clip to the timeline. Hold down the R button to select a part of an element to be used in the film.  Otherwise, you will always add the full clip.

  You're supposed to now hold the "R" key while selecting a part of a clip.

  Desktop: Windows XP 32-bit Home Edition. Laptop: Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit.

  I have a DVD I paid for and used a software to copy video clips (unprotected) to mpeg2 files. There are 4 of them. It was a DVD recorded in 2004 at a dance event. It is not a commercial version.

  XP: The 1st clip allows me to open it in Windows Media Player 11 and I can drag autour in various places to look at different times of the clip. The clip of 2nd, 3rd and 4th are locked and won't let me pick different times to watch. They will play through.

  In Vista: I can't the cursor around anywhere, then select any time to look into all parts of clips with THE 4 clips.

  I took the clips, put them on a USB stick, moved in both sense between each system. I tried two more than once.

  I used the software to rip the clips on XP and Vista. It's the same result. The fault seems to lie with XP.

  Perhaps some of this DVD had some kind of protection against copying for XP but not Vista (and other OS of potentially). Or it's the encoder?

  My account has been locked or something, I couldn't answer.

  It is therefore probably encriptación with Windows Media player. I can read files with RealPlayer on Windows XP and Vista in Windows Media Player.

  Tried to use my software for video editing, re - export files in mpeg2. But each of them had sound problems. So, this is how the DVD is probably protected.

  I have something on Vista operating systems and a workaround with XP using RealPlayer for the original files. I'll keep looking. It's mine to archive all I want at this stage.

  Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

  Since your post I understand that you get an error that your computer is not authorized for items purchased on your iPhone.  As you tried to allow already and know that your computer is allowed, then it seems that you have the content of another Apple ID on your iPhone.  If you have any other Apple ID then please allow your computer so that it be synchronized.

  It is possible that you have a corrupted project which will cause iMovie hang when it tries to load it.

  Hold down the Alt (option) key when you launch iMovie.  This will prevent that he tries to load all projects immediately and ask for a library to open it.

  may need to convert the video to a compatible format like

  I think you should call Exiftool in the post-processing of the export settings section. ExifTool is an excellent third-party utility that you can download here.

  I'm on Windows, and the following procedure seems to work OK.

  [This is when exporting to the local drive - in which case after export, the separate utility can be called and is able to change the file just saved. [I don't know for sure - but I do not expect this works when exporting directly to a destination like Flickr hosted web site:]

  • Make a copy of the program of Exiftool.exe file.
  • Rename the copy as follows: exiftool (-keywords += specialtag - overwrite_original) .exe -replace "specialtag" with the keyword desired. (I did not test for spaces in the keyword).
  • In the export settings, post processing section, select "Open in other Application" and click on choose... to access the above renamed the executable file (program) Exiftool.
  • Register (or update) your export predefined to include this extra step.

  As each file is exported, the Exiftool command window opens, running and closes.

  Is there a tool in Premiere Pro that will allow me to select a range of a clip, rather than the full clip, to apply an effect to as there is in Final Cut Pro (range selection tool).  Or by applying an effect to a part of an element can be done through to cut the clip into sections and applying the effect on the specific section.

  The Razor tool is your friend. Cut to just where you want to apply the effect. If you want to "mitigation" and "mitigation", use a crossfade.

  I'm importing old home movies and that you have run into an interesting question. When you connect an older Sony MiniDV camera via Firewire to my MacBook Pro, is to create an insane amount of individual clips - of different lengths (between one second and five seconds) - of the video that has no breaks in it. So a solid 10 minute clip (non-stop), I'll have nearly 100 small clips in iMovie.

  I actually changed computers - and cable - thinking that it could be a computer problem, but it always does. I am trying to determine where the problem is. I'm hoping to avoid importing video analog if possible.

  Does anyone have this problem before?

  This problem came several times in discussions. No solution if I ever posted. Usually this is related to the time for questions on the code clip. Some people have reported success by importing to the Quicktime format and then transfer them to iMovie. You could try to import into Quicktime.
