Implementation of an Image in InDesign is modified with parts to cut...

Hi all

Here's a strange that I stumbled on and have not been able to overcome. I work with an image in PS, transformation to distort the image and gave him some perspective. Saved the image as a. TIFF with transparency on.

When I place the image in InDesign that missing part of the picture as if it has been cut away. The picture is superb in a browser and in PS. I have bellows attached a screenshot to visually explain my dilemma. Anyone encountered this problem before and knows the cure?

Try to save again the image and check to make sure it is has not applied a clipping path.

  • Put image in Indesign for web designers... Question about res - 72 or 300 ppi?

I would like to create a blog with an image header. Not too sure that res images I placed in InDesign should be.

Once the header of the blog I'll export as JPEG at 72 dpi, but when it comes to place the image should i:

Place the image with 300ppi, then export blog header in JPEG format at 72 dpi?

    OR

RES change of image at 72 DPI in Photoshop first, place the image in Indesign, and then export blog header in JPEG format at 72 dpi?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your time!

    Gina R.

    Just place the image.

Select the image and choose window > Info you will see two things, effective and real.

Real, is what is the image - and effective is the ppi is after the scaling.

It is apparent, you need to find that he is above 72 dpi (doesn't bother me if it's 105, 19990000 or 193.392392 or 300 ppi) as long as it's above it.

    Once all the

File > export, then choose PDF

Open said PDF in photoshop (one of the few times that it is a legitimate thing to do)

Then use file > save for Web and choose PNG 24 (or JPEG but PNG gives better quality)

Also, make sure that your measurements are correct in the Web dialog box.

    That's all.

  • When you place an image in InDesign, it seems pixelated.  It is a 66 MB file in a 6 x 9 "paper.

I'm new to InDesign, I created all of my documents for printing in Acrobat PDF format.  When I place an image, it will appear pixelated.

    Hello

This is an expected behavior, when you place an image in InDesign, then it displays a preview of the image but you has no impact of the exit, unless the image is of low resolution itself.

In order to have the correct resolution of images, you can switch to view > display performance > high quality.

  • your print in Indesign consultant - work with high quality images

    Hello world

I'm very curious about the idea of what the other professionals on printing and using Indesign to print.

I'm working on a project that, with high resolution model and produces the images together.

Since then, I had move the elements on the layout. Model and product images are in different layers in Indesign.

I used Indesign to combine these images together to create ads for the magazine.

However, I was told that it would be "More SURE" to combine the images together FRIST in photoshop.

He thinks that the process should be:

-Having an image of flated by products and model in photoshop first

    - then bring only one image in Indesign.

-This way he could ensure the color will be good.

    What do you think guys?

The places I've worked in the past, didn't like that makes things.

I want to... *. Colors are not something we couldn't control what magazine uses their own print provider.

What is your process to make sure that the color is just when priting a combination of different high resolution tiff files?

Thank you very much for your time and knowleage.

    Lori

Assuming that you have some sort of color in place management, I would continue to do it the way you are.

But let's say that you do not want to follow the advice of this man. Here's what I think.

Assemble the models and products on a Photoshop 'page' wraps doing the very large PSD file as there can be spaces between the models and products.

Never, never flatten this Photoshop file. It is useless and makes a very complicated workflow if you need to make changes.

You are right about the magazine printing process takes up colors.

You send the magazine? A PDF FILE? It is totally useless to flatten then in Photoshop.

The art is flattened in its own way.

I suppose also that your products and your models are close together

  • image in indesign file not no projection in pdf export - help!

    Hi there-

Export my indesign file to PDF has been fine up til now - all images and text are fine except one. The image is one that I have edited in Photoshop (CS4) - it's a layer of drop shadow. I then placed in Indesign and fiddled with his opacity. And then I exported. Literally, everything else in this relatively large file is fine. I increased the opacity of the image at 100% and he did in fact appear in the pdf file, as it appeared on indesign. Then I tried to decrease the opacity of a minimum amount (85% - I is approximately 45%) and it disappeared again. Don't know how to solve this problem. Thanks for any help

  • scaling an image in indesign

    Hello forumers.

is there a way yo scale and down an image/photo/picture in indesign as in ps or illustrator? im getting confused with the indesign way to do.

    Thank you.

That's what I do as well, also (for CS4 and upward) of smart guides help you make slam to widths of "common" as a block of text, or another image.

Omitting on Bob: rather than SHIFT, in InDesign's drag with Ctrl/Cmd can evolve. Add shift to maintain its original width/height ratio (this is a feature shared for all the drawing tools in InDesign).

A picture is kind of a special case, because the default is to resize the frame - without affecting the image (something miss me dearly in Illustrator!). By clicking on the image with the white arrow to select the inner stuff - the actual image-, then you can put across and around drag in his (prescribed) bounding box. Usually, we can't move/scale them independently and it is this that Cmd/Ctrl and Shift + drag is for.

  • Ask a .jpg image in Indesign server via script?

    Hello

I have a scenario in which I spend to use QuarkXpress Server to Indesign Server. With Quark Server I am able to request a jpg image to a quark Document. Basically, by providing the right parameters, I can get a JPG preview what a block the text box or picture looks like in the Quark Document.

I need to do something like that with InDesign Server. Is it possible to write a script by specifying an Indesign Document and perhaps a TextFrameID or PictureFrame ID and get a rendering of JPG of it?

I know that I can export the entire document in PDF format, but I need to be able to get images of texts related/pictureframes single or grouped management frames.

Does anyone know if this is possible or how to proceed?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Shortcut to open the images in InDesign

The shortcut to open an image in InDesign is Command-Option-double clickk. works well - except when you click on in the box of overlay in the text block or an underlying. Then the image will not open, even if it was previously selected and shows the blue handles and you double-click inside these blue handles. No matter if the image is in front of or behind another frame, priority is given in the text frame. What happens is: the text block editing window opens.

Is it possible to have a keyboard shortcut, so that when you select a picture and then make some strikes, the image opens?

    Edit > keyboard shortcuts...

The original edition... command is under the Edition Menu product area and has no default, but you can add your own. You will need to do a new custom set because you cannot change the default value.

  • Does anyone know why my images in InDesign do not have the same quality as in Photoshop?

    Hello world

I'm new to InDesign, but I did a course accelerated and also does research in Google on poor quality images in InDesign.  I am having trouble with the quality of the images.

I'm working on a magazine.  I started with the addition of advertising, first of all, some of the pictures I get from the internet and when I save them and import them into photoshop the quality is excellent.

Then I save as a PSD file and export for the web saved in JPEG, the highest quality.

I have sizes in Photoshop and InDesign, predefined

I have the images in InDesign display quality.  Or, what I have to do before I import the photo?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Emma

Low resolution preview is the deafult, but you can change that in your preferences. I don't see anything in what you are doing that should cause a problem unless you're enlaging images in InDesign.

I don't do things online, just print, so I do tend to work with images low resolution at all, but I guess it is possible that the quality is better, if you start with a high resolution image and make the downsampling on the conversion. Someone who regularly does this type of export would be a better resource. There are a number of threads, but on the quality problems with .swf exported if you look around.
