Import Final Cut Pro library media

Is it possible to import media from a library of Final Cut Pro X?  The library is displayed in the import box, but is grayed out. I can't navigate down to see the content to allow access to the already imported media.

Not directly as much as I know.

Right-click on the FCP X library and select "show the contents of the package.  There will be a folder for each event.  Within each of these folders will be a "Original media" folder that contains links to clips (external media) or clips (managed media).  Just make drag and drop links and clips into your iMovie event.  Copies will be in your library from iMovie for you is going to be duplicate files.  (I just checked that drag a FCP link creates a copy).

  • Missing media in Final Cut Pro

Hi all! I have just a project on Final Cut Pro X 10.2.2 and two large video files on my phone seem to have problems with import.

I've imported files for Final Cut on this computer for different devices/cards/port in the past, including this iPhone 6, without any problem. Usually, the background window will show when imports are underway and was the case initially with these two files as well, although it took more time than usual; so I kept changing my project for several hours giving it time to process. By the time I finished, it appeared as if the files were imported. Then, when I tried to export the video, I received an error message saying that I would not be able to export as long as my referenced project who were still on a camera - but did not say which files he was referring to files. So, I closed my Final Cut and restarted and realized that the missing media files were two videos on the iPhone. But when I tried to re - import, I couldn't because he says that the camera was not set (it was). I tried just to import again, but software does not react when I do, and background tasks are not any place of importation.

My next troubleshooting step is to delete the files in the library completely and the re - import, but would rather not because I think it will make me lose the changes that I've worked on the last several hours. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas? Thank you very much!

    I tried now also:

-Other video files to iPhone even import and other files worked, so the connection of the iPhone and the iPhone have gone very well.

-Transfer video files separately to my computer, then import into Final Cut: it worked, but the software does not detect that the files were the same as those I've already cut, so it did not help

-Don't move my library project files to the trash and re - import: background showed a 0% make attempt, then the attempt to make disappeared and the software has failed again

--Also tried to create an archive video files on my iPhone, but the button "create archive" in the import window is not active.

-When I right click the clips from the library, 'show in Finder' is inactive. a search of my hard drive shows that they are indeed not in the original press file in FCPX

Note: When I restart FCPX, the files appear in the red as warnings of missing media project; as soon as I open the import window, clips reappear and I can read the entire grand project; parts that play on the clips in question are not blurred as if they were always rendered.

I feel desperate at this point. It has been so many hours at a certain moment I thought to give up and start all over again, but I am so deeply in the edition it took probably 10 x longer than the first time around. Any help would be appreciated!

  • How better for import of movement 5 projects in Final Cut Pro

    I use for my projects:

    -Motion 5 (5.1.2)

    -Final Cut Pro X (10.1.4)

    -Compressor (4.1.3)

-Mavericks OSX on a Macbook Pro 2 GHz and 8 GB RAM

-The images that requires a lot of editing, green screen and the particle effects

I had a question about what would be the best way to import Motion 5 sequences into a Final Cut Pro project?

Specifically, I started using both programs as a hobby, and I learned how to post Motion projects in Final Cut Pro as a generator.

However, as most of my work involves a broad green screen and the effects of particles of edition, all the sequences essentially have to go through Motion. (as I am skeptical of 'Tools' Final Cut Pro when I can do more with proposal anyway)

So is the only way to import sequences of movement is made by a generator in Final Cut Pro?

I feel like there should be (and it might, like why I'm curious) a less encumbering way to import video edited between the movement in addition to hundreds of generators in Final Cut Pro.

Using the method of generator, it's what I do, and I was wondering if I missed somewhere where I can import media motion editing in Final Cut Pro.

Thanks in advance for your time and help

MMake the Motion of the project and export it as a video to use in the PCF file.

  • I have a project in iMovie HD6 and want export to Final Cut Pro.  I see that it is not possible from the previous questions, but is it possible that I could maybe create a dvd of the iMovie project and then who import in Final Cut?

I have a project in iMovie HD6 and want export to Final Cut Pro.  I see that it is not possible from the previous questions, but is it possible that I could maybe create a dvd of the iMovie project and then who import in Final Cut?  I just want to make a new trailer for the project.

What you suggest is possible but it takes software and third-party quality loss.

Instead, export a QuickTIme movie. If you have a choice of codecs, choose Apple Intermediate Codec. You can save it where you want it-maybe in the movies.

Then import the movie into FCP as a clip.

    Good luck.

Do you mean during the import process?

There is no FCP X parameter to change the way THAT DV is imported.

I used to hear the audio import with Sony cameras but Canon may be a different story.

If the imported files are OK, then it can be a thing of Protocol firewire Canon.

  • I do not understand how to import a project that I created in Final Cut Pro in After Effects

I do not understand how to import a project that I created in Final Cut Pro that has many sound effects in After Effects. When sharing, choose Apple Pro Res 422, resolution 1920 x 1080, select other - After Effects, it comes as a layer in AE. I don't see how I can change this and do not know, I'm doing this right. Can someone help me please. Thank you very much.

You can use the file--> menu to import and use the Pro import, but of course there are limits. They are just completely different programs of two separate companies.

  • Audio visible, no audible after the .aaf of the Final Cut Pro project import

I received a file of a CONF (Advanced Authoring Format) of a Final Cut Pro user.

It simply gave a .mov for video and audio accompanying wth AudioFX and trails of laughter in the AAF file. He wanted to see if I could clean up the audio since I use Adobe Audition and have dome such work.

I followed the procedure that I understood to import the AAF:

I used After Effects to import the AAF. (Pro Import AfterEffects)

I export the created folder and then the comp on to Premiere Pro CS6.

Everything looks good, all audio is enabled, I see waveforms on the timeline. But I can't hear audio when I play the timeline (where video is displayed in the program window.)

If I double-click on a waveform in one of the layers, it opens in the Source window and VOILA! I can hear the audio.

What could I do wrong that I cannot hear the sound when I play or scrub in the Timeline?

    Thanks in advance!

Select all clips in the timeline, right-click and chose to remove the effects/attributes and uncheck everything except audio level, audio gain etc. There are at least three different places that control the volume out of the clip that sits in a timeline.

Also check the audio effects for each individual item

  • Problem creating an event in Final cut Pro

    Hello

I am running Final Cut Pro 10.2.3.

I created a new library, but when I imported my videos, then in a folder called "smart Collections".

This folder has never appeared before.

When I tried to create a new event, the clips remained in smart Collections folder.

I couldn't tell the program to duplicate clips in the new event.

    What is going on?

I deleted the new library and started again.

I deleted the new library, restart Final Cut Pro.

    The problem persisted.

    Help, please.

    Guy

When you create a library, an event is created as well as smart collections featured med goes into the event and can also go in smart collections. You can't have a library without an event which takes place in the media. Maybe you can post a screenshot of what appears in your browser.

  • Why Final Cut Pro uses 800 GB when there is almost no films?

After using Final Cut Pro, I like the product. However, after a short time, my 1 TB iMac gave me a message "complete storage system. I looked through all my files, and the file "Untitled" in the tab in Final Cut Pro has written his most 800 GB. I've deleted almost everything about Final Cut Pro, but it is still more than 800 GB.

    Thanks for your help!

I hope that you deleted the files of the application, rather than by going to the library in the Finder (which is risky).

Libraries usually get significant because the import settings are defined to create optimized media automatically during import. The second reason is that rendering files accumulate over time. Both optimized and restore files can be deleted safely.

If you already have trashed your optimized and make files, look inside the bin to see if it needs to be empty.

  • How to transfer libraries from Final Cut Pro to another hard drive?

as you can see, my final cut pro and iMovie libraries take up a lot of space. I would like to move into my external hard drive and remove the internal hard drive. I am worrying that the editing software will not be able to know where libraries are, so can you help me? BTW, I don't like on iMovie libraries. shortly after hötting screens, I deleted them.

PCF. Open select each (sequential) library that you want to move, open the Inspector > Info and click on the button consolidate to collect amy media you used outside the library. Then quit FCP.

In the Finder, drag the libraries to your external drive. That their copy.

Double-click the library icons in their external location. Open projects to make sure that everything is OK. When you are satisfied, they are OK, libraries can trash on your system drive.

  • Video is lagging / choppy on Final Cut Pro reading but the audio is perfect

    Hello

So I am using FCP for 2 weeks or more and I have been editing videos without problem but today something super odd happened. After editing as I like, I saw the video and it's suuuuuper laggy/choppy but the sound was perfect (in quality and timing). When I stop the video for a few seconds, although the video can be synchronized back but then return to be lag after a few seconds. I tried exporting it in the hope that maybe once it has exported it's going to work, but not luck. The entire video is not even to export. The video is about 4 minutes would export long and only 01:30. I am really confused and frustrated and hope someone can help!

Also, I imported the original footage on an external hard drive if my computer would have more space. Not sure if that makes a difference, but I thought I should add that just in case.

    Thank you very much!

Theres not enough info here to diagnose the problem. The issue started when you copied data to another drive? In general, you want the media on a single disc and the application on another.

Maybe car ram speed, maybe, I don't know what the requirements of the FCP are but check here:

  • SG and Final Cut Pro

    Hello

I like my Suite Adobe CC but am facing a problem of classifying a project that someone edited in Final Cut Pro X.  Does anyone have any info on how I can do this, or even if it is possible?

We're both on Mac, so at least this isn't a problem.

    Thank you!

SG has a capacity to use EDL, so that may be an option. In the shift line/manual help November 30 or more is an article on this process. It seems important to how the files are named, Sg apparently prefer names within the old size of 8 characters and does not have the names of "reel" attentionto.

If you test it and do work for you, it can be use a flattened file from media of FCP for images or all media file and then use the Sg scene detection function divide into workable scenes for classification.

Search for iffline and re-linking the process of online media.

  • Problems to export a sequence in Final Cut Pro XML... ideas?

I hope someone can shed some light on a problem that only seems to be one with first Pro CS5.5.2.  Every time I try and export a unique sequence of a project of multi sequence in Final Cut Pro XML to return to fix the XML from the DaVinici file is a very large XML file that lists each sequence in the project and all files used by each sequence.  Rather than simply describing the sequence selected when I go to file > export > Final Cut Pro XML.

I'm at a loss as to what is at the origin of the problem and have vainly what follows:

    • Delete all files in rendering
    • Project > remove unused
    • Media preference cache cleaning
    • Re-save the project under another name
    • Import the calendar one at a time into a new project
    • full reboot
    • Copy the contents of a sequence to a new timeline using a different setting that is all deadlines are Black Magic XDCAM 1080p25 fps to own Prems XDCAM 1080p25 fps

None of these answers gave no success so far, but he has worked with other projects in the past on this machine.

Details of the system are: 12 Core 2010 Mac Pro 64 GB memory, OSX Lion, Master Suite CS5.5 (fully updated), black magic Deklink Extreme HD card, Nvidia Quadra card and an ATI Radeon 1 GB card standard.

Any help that anyone can throw at the problem would be welcome.

    Thank you

    Mark

Well, after some research, I found the disappointing answer to my problem.

Mainly down to my own ignorance that has just begun the process of transition in Premiere Pro and partly down to how XML and the XML Export options are processed first.  In any case, I thought that as Final Cut Final Cut Pro XML Export option would work in a manner similar that is exported XML has been selected only sequence.  I had made this assumption in part as other export as export Media options are specific selection and not the project globally.

All this means that it made for a very difficult workflow in terms of using color classification apps like DaVinci.  Yes there are tools like those produced by the red giant for the ranking within the first large but personally I find them slow to use compared to a dedicated system, with adequate control surface, and while many are not as versatile as an application dedicated in my humble opinion.

I guess the other reason, he took was simply down to the fact that in many instances of first if something is global by default as the importation of another project you have the option to select the project or a sequence and a similar approach is being implemented in dynamic linking, which is great.

I think it would be great if Adobe would implement the option to export only a single sequence in XML format for round trip for the purposes and of course keep the full export of the project which I'm sure because many will be useful.  It would also be useful if the XML Version 5 implementation, as this should allow the use of other third party XML tools as excellent Media copy 3.0 Atomic duck to get a report or copy files related to a project or a sequence based on a universal XML file. As well as extremely versatile and powerful return options.
