  When I record a video with my camera Canon XF100 for a long time he creates new files every 5 minutes. Continuous gunfire he keeps these separate files in a subfolder until I hit the stop button. When I start it shooting creates a new subfolder and a new file.

• Error importing Indeo 5.1 notice in first Pro CS5

  I have several files that have been encoded in 5.1 Indeo via Premiere Pro CS4 that I can't edit in CS5. When importing first CS5 only recognizes audio tracks and does not in the video. I tested several files and the same is true for each of them, and files play fine using Windows Media Player (audio and video work).

  Any help would be appreciated.

  It is a codec of back to the stone age, and since CS5 is a 64-bit application, so 64-bit codecs. There is no 64-bit version of Indeo 5.1, so you're out of luck directly import in CS5.

  If you have CS4 yet, the project and the original media, you can export to something more modern. If you have CS4, but not projects or media, you could import the files into it and transcode to something else (or just use SOUL). If you don't have CS4, you will need to find a third-party video transcoder to convert the files into something that CS5 can use. QuickTime Pro might actually be able to open these on Windows, but if not, there are dozens or even hundreds of programs out there you can try. Discover VideoHelp.com to some potential tools.

• ProRes HQ being recognized as cinema back in first Pro PC?

  I have a Cup semi finished (without effects or color correction) that I edited on my Mac with Final Cut Pro. I exported this edition to the prores HQ format in order to make the rest of my work on my PC in Premiere Pro (mainly because my new PC is much faster than my mac). I created a new sequence with the file in Premiere Pro and to my surprise it is read as Arri cinema and Prores not? In the drop-down list sequence settings is not really an option for prores at all.

  I'm guessing that Premiere Pro for PC isn't prores codecs? Fix? If that's the case here are a few questions:

  1. What is the Codec of Arri film for editing? He result of prores ok?

  2.i am accustomed to using different flavors of prores for editing. It is probably only one file with that I must never export from my mac to edit. Can I on a PC Prores codecs? How they compare to the PC of the codec I know less well?

  3. How can I get the codecs prores on my PC?

  I'll wait for a response before I begin to edit anything. I'm new to Premiere Pro and the PC in general any comments at all would be appreciated.

  Hey Kevin,

  First does not care what codec your video is, as long as the codec is installed on the machine. Although there is not a specific sequence for ProRes parameter, is not serious. What is important is SIZE of FRAME, FRAME RATE, ORDER OF FRAMES PIXEL ASPECT. So Adobe found in your case an Arri preset corresponding to parameters of your film. There could also be an AVCHD preset that would work as well, doesn't matter really so much inside specifications are correct.

  First will work with ProRes on the PC hardware, just QuickTime installed on the system. However, there is no easy way to directly export the ProRes. We could install the Avid DNxHD codec for free and which will be similar to ProRes. There is also that a third-party Encoder now offers ProRes encoding for PC, check here - http://www.cinemartin.com/cinec/

• SpeedGrade CC 2014 does no work and is not back to first Pro CC 2014 direct link

  I just lost 4 hours of work.

  I colored a complete video, tried to tie this back to the pr. It did not to any error message. SpeedGrade automatically closed the project and asked me to open another. Nothing happened at first. When I came back to Sg, all my settings were gone all of the clips.

  Why this happens, what can I do to fix it, and can Adobe send someone to the re - this color for me because I'm so livid, I can't.

  I had this problem earlier when I painted that one section. I reinstalled Sg and that fixed it for a bit, but it happened again.

  I thought about it.

  First was opened at the same time, and I must have saved it. As Sg worked the Pr project instead of its own file, Pr economy crushed Sg.

  I've linked to the color with success by opening only not Pr until Sg automatic opening it when I linked.

• First Pro MXF files problem

  When I imported first to Premiere Pro (CC7.2.1) all my a F55 Sony MXF files all worked perfectly. Immediately I could preview the files in the source window and use the metalogging to browse the. In addition, I could create and export sequences and preview them in real-time to a resolution of 1/2 - preview has been fast and fluid.

  Two weeks later and I am struggling to get any kind of overview on the same projects. I opened a project, and if I try to get a glimpse of a clip in the source window I sometimes the one frame and audio, but never any sort of reading. If I try to view a sequence I just get media pending, a black screen or audio only.

  I did not move the clips in their original folder and is not complaining that it cannot find them. It never seems to make little matter how long I leave it.

  Interestingly, if I use the direct link to speedgrade then they play instantly in speedgrade

  I use a MBPR with CUDA Mercury.

  When I opened another project with AVCHD files, everything seems to work ok, but none of the several projects that I have with these files raw MXF fail to get a glimpse of what it is.

  Any help grately appreciated.

• Error importing the RAW of Canon T3i to LR2.7 files

  I tried to import RAW files taken with my new Canon T3i in LR 2.7 but I get an "unknown error". The files were proviously opened with the EOS editing software with the camera.

  Can you please specify? Is this one because I previously opened files in the Canon software or LR 2.7 does not support the new Canon T3i's? Files, taken with a Canon 5 d loded fine.

  1. Upgrade to LR 3.4
  2. Use the free Adobe's DNG Converter to convert the files to DNG and then import them into LR 2.7

  First CC files is now a zip file.

  Replace prproj 7z (or something simular)

  Unzip, change it to xml and open in Notepad.

  Hi, I'm new on Premier Pro and have looked at a few tutorials by Lynda.com.  I don't know much about video editing. We have a marketing video file (.mov) apartment (that we have received permission to modify and reuse) and want to duplicate for 12 other communities.  The only change required is to remove the Vargos logo in the latest images of the video and insert the new Community logo in its place. Is this possible? I have the. MOV file - I am download from Vimeo and send the link soon. I have Photoshop and Creative Suite I can use.

  OK, launch Premiere Pro, create a new project and with in this project uses the file to create a new sequence of editing (drag to where it says here the media Drop to create the sequence).

  Once you have done this, the tracks of the timeline are like layers in Photoshop.

  You can cut the end of the movie in the source sequence and add material on the end.

  If you need to add several elements as a background and a logo, stack items as you layer in Photoshop. Depending on the power of your computer, it may have difficulty replaying a stack of titles (layers) in real time. OK, is that elements are all combined in a single track (layer) export.

  When you are finished, remove everything in it or out marks you made on the timeline and, with the timeline still active, go to the file menu > export media.

  When the export pane opens, check the match sequence settings, the name box and select a destination, then press the export button on the lower right of the pane.

  I am trying to learn how to get a slow motion effect with material that was shot at 60 p (59,94 frames per second).

  I imported this material (AVCHD codec) in first Pro CS 5.5 and created a new sequence with 25 frames per second. The material is still, to a normal playback speed. no idle...

  Can someone tell me if I have missed out on something really simple :-)? Or this is more complicated than I thought?

  OK, this is weird to answer my own post, but I learned how to do it and in the case where someone else is just starting up, it could be useful:

  import 60 p in the first image, right-click on it in your list of sequences and need to change > film. Here you can enter your desired (in my case, 25 fps) framerate and click on 'ok '. then right click again on the sequence and choose 'new sequence of the clip' and you now have a sequence of 25 frames per second with true slow motion images.

• New first Pro CS 5.0.2 update resolves hang up when you click in and out of Premiere Pro?

  I originally met the problem with first Pro CS 5 (as part of Production Premium CS 5 package) in which case on large projects, particularly with P2, Premiere Pro media would hang up whenever you click on in and out of the application.  I mean, this is when you click on your desktop or Explorer, or another application, outside first pro and then you try to go back to first pro and click inside the app to get back to work, you get a blue wheel and it takes 10-30 seconds before first pro to re-engage and allow you to work.

  I installed the new update 5.0.2 and tested it on my original problem project, having set up a new cache of media file.  Prpro project project file size is about 30 MB and the media of reference is about 300 GB internal hard disk.  Comprehensive data on the initial problem, the specifications and tests are in this form to

  Unfortunately, in my initial work and testing with that as of today, this problem is not resolved and the same interruption occurs.  During the test I have other applications disabled, no internet connection and no firewall/antivirus program running (mechanic system).

  I have will work intensively in the coming days with a new edition project and will reduce the size of the project and will report if there is in fact improvements or changes to this, but so far, this problem is not solved for me unfortunately.  Maybe for others there is an improvement.

  check your directory program files adobe > first pro cs6 > first pro.exe file.

  (restart the cc app will probably also work.)
