  • Problem importing files raw mxf (Sony F5)

    Hey everybody,

I use first Pro CC on Windows 8.1 v7.2.2 and wanted to import some images shot with the Sony F5. I have read that since v7.2 it is implemented for these types of files, but when I tried to import them there was "generic error".

So I downloaded the Sony RAW plugin for Adobe (PLAD-RW1) and tried again. But once again: failure to import a file.

Now it's interesting: the files are on my internal drive with 3TO (only for data). Just for the heck of it, I copied some files to my SSD on which Windows is installed. It is all of a sudden no problem to import the files into the first and better yet, the link Direct to SpeedGrade also this SSD works fine.

But this cannot be the solution because there is not enough space for all my files on the SSD and it is usually a weird behavior.

Does anyone have an answer why this is happening? I have absolutely no idea and really appreciate your help!

    Kind regards

HA, I solved it. It's the discs...

  • Error importing file mpeg-1?

When you try to add mpeg1 files to show the queue, SOUL 5.0.1.0 shows a messagebox "Import file error" "error during decompression of the source file.

These mpeg1s are directly from my Sony DSC - N2 point - & - shoot. GSpot identifies as video codec, mpeg1 & 32 kHz, 64kbs, mono layer2 audio. VirtualDub has no problems with these files.

Any ideas?  I would like to download them here, but as mpeg1s uncompressed, they are 41 & 19 MB.

    Hi Peter,.

Thanks for posting the clip. I tested and was able to reproduce your results.  In Adobe Media Encoder 5.0.1 installed as part of the CS5 Design Premium Windows 7 64-bit with QuickTime 7.6.9, coding of the F4V (FLV or H.264) file was very very slow.  Looks like the SOUL's duplicate images several times, which was confirmed when I stopped the encoding and examined the partial file.

The problem is, however, moved on a similar computer with CS5 Production Premium installed.

The reason for that, if I understand the workings of the SOUL (I like to think that I do), has to do with what codecs are installed with the SOUL, which depends on what Adobe products you have installed.  Only Production Premium, After Effects and Premiere Pro include the MPEG codecs for SOUL decode MPEG files natively.  Design Premium, Flash or any other product from Adobe that installs the SOUL not to install MPEG codecs.

In theory, SOUL should not be able to read your MPEG file at all.  But when QuickTime is installed SOUL has a rule that allows him to ask QuickTime if it can decode certain types of files if SOUL cannot decode natively.  In this case, Yes, QuickTime can play this MPEG file.  So this is actually QuickTime that is decoding the soul file and then SOUL takes frames and encodes them to the output format.  If you do not have QuickTime installed, just SOUL would produce an error when you tried to open the file.  (I confirmed this by uninstalling QuickTime; this is also why your previous installation of QuickTime bad generated the error on what you posted).

Here, the problem seems to be that QuickTime and SOUL are not talking together very well.  SOUL is not asking the frames correctly, or QuickTime is not properly called managers.

The best solution for you is to use another program to transcode your MPEG files to a different format.  Either directly to F4V or in an intermediate format (QuickTime, AVI, other) which you can then import into SOUL so it can properly transcode it.

Or you can take the suggestion of Jim and shoot with a camera that produces files that are more respectful of the edition.  MPEG files are notoriously difficult to effectively decode for editing, and the variety of implementations of the MPEG guidelines makes it nearly impossible for the edition of programs compatible with every single device that can write MPEG files.

I have good news: this problem has already been solved for a future version of the SOUL; my test version internal do not reproduce the problem.

  • Automator: Import files into pictures, delete source files

I export images from Lightroom to a "Photos" folder only to manually right-click "share > Add Photos."

I want Automator the party of import, who works. But I also want to trash the original file, once it has been imported, that does not work.

    Here is my configuration:

The last 2 actions are not related. I even tried variable set > import > get variable > move to trash but Automator has been unable to get all the variables. I found this on google but my Automator does not support this feature:

Of course, I want this action to run in the background so that whenever I have something to export from Lightroom, it will be available in the Photos without any effort on my part.

In the Finder: Add the folder "Photos" in the "Pictures" folder

    Using Automator:

"Get specified Finder items" Add folder "Photos".

Check "To get the contents of the folder": repeat for each subfolder found.

'Filter the items in the Finder.

    "Import files in the pictures."

    Then, repeat the actions:

"Get specified Finder items" Add folder "Photos".

Check "To get the contents of the folder": repeat for each subfolder found.

'Filter the items in the Finder.

    Then add:

"Move the items from the Finder to the trash.

    ⬇︎

You could add the "Run the Applescript" action at the end of the workflow and have Automator emptying the Trash:

    AppleScript:

    the term {parameters}

    Tell application "Finder".

    empty the trash

    tell the end

    Back entrance

    end of race

NB. You can consider the action 'Pause' after 'Import photo files' if the Photos.app is not open when the image files are exported in the folder "pictures".

Hi, I use iTunes 12.3.2.35 on a Windows 7 computer. I don't seem to be able to import files from a CD that contains the files on it as mp3 files. If I start iTunes and then put the CD in, it doesn't appear and I can't drag and drop.

It would not seem like an audio CD, as a drive in this way is a data disc when it contains mp3 files. You would need to access the file menu in iTunes, manage files here. If you manually manage music, you will need to access it as a regular folder on your computer. In iTunes, go to file > add file to library, and select individual files.

  • 12 iTunes does not import files

Many have had this problem, all have been resolved (apparently) allowed the format conversion with something of an iTunes or install Quicktime as autonomous, but not me.

    • iTunes 12.1.3.6 64-bit
    • QuickTime 7.7.6

I have a huge selection of files (mp4 and m4v) video all converted iTunes yet formats over the years of hard work. All worked perfectly (as long as home sharing is not screwing around). I bought new hardware for my main computer so moved my old kit to my server to take over the functions of iTunes. As this is a "new" computer I went straight to import my old HDD to the new NAS (all the permissions granted at a time) from the iTunes library base.

iTunes has simply nothing. I then tried to import files in various ways at different locations (local shared folder, NAS), and by various techniques (drag / move, import file, import file, open with, add automatically) none of them got the files in iTunes. "Automatically add" gave the strangest response however. I created the "not added" like there was something wrong.

Three things, I can guarantee you:

    1. Files have been acceptable for the last 5 years in iTunes and are played regularly through the AppleTV, so no conversion is necessary at all.
    2. It's not a permissions issue, as even the local file was not imported.
    3. I can't go to 12.3.1 he simply refuses to start at all.
    4. This box is a new facility with nothing else installed except the above.

I would like to try an older version of iTunes to see if I could get that back to normal, but I am unable to find a previous releases section (could be me).

    Does anyone have an ideas?

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review other cases and a list of documents to support further down the page, in which case one of them applies.

More information area has direct links with the current and recent buildings if you have problems to download, must revert to an older version or want to try the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for old video cards) as a workaround for problems with installation or operation, or compatibility with QuickTime software or a third party.

Your library must be affected by these measures but there are also links to the backup and recovery advice it should be necessary.

In some cases with 64-bit systems, you may need to install the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for older video cards) and QuickTime to enable iTunes work with some videos. 32-bit users must install QuickTime.
