Importing technologies in the physical Architecture of ODI 11 g

Hello

I'm trying to import technologies in ODI 11 g (11.1.1.5).

It is to show that the success, but it does not reflect the physical Architecture technology.

Please suggest.

Thank you

Sébastien.

    Hi Experts,
I have a confusion regarding the physical, logical and model Architecture Architecture. Please tell me what type of information or data, these three above hold.
    Thank you

Physical architecture contains information about the physical configuration of your environment e.g. nameservers, jdbc, usernames, passwords etc connection strings

The logical architecture provides an abstraction layer that allows to group by similar contexts of physical architecture components that reside in different locations/environments.

Patterns are reversed representations of objects in your physical architecture that is tables, flat files, etc. The models are used as sources and targets in your UI design

A XML file structure is not linear, and cannot therefore be shaped into 'a' product table.
The way that reverse ODI is that it creates a table for each element. and that's why you see 4 tables (one per element).

childItems is the value of the attribute 'name' of the element "set_property".
So, once you get the data inside the database, you will see this in the NAME column.

  • Dynamic physical architecture

    Hi all

I wonder if it is possible to have a dynamic physical architecture...

I have a global framework of ODI, which asks some flat files and (especially) reads/writes to these by using a variety of interfaces. The names (and the location (directory)) flat files are stored as variables (excerpts from a table.) Information on the location of the files, so is located in two places: 1) in variables and 2) in the physical architecture.

I would like to have the location information stored in the variables only and dynamically assigned to the physical architecture, so that I can get applications and users to change the location.

Is this possible? In other words, the pointer of the physical architecture of a flat file can be represented as a variable (# < PROJECTNAME >. < directory >)? If so, what would the pointer is resolved and that, if the concerned are the constraints?

Moreover, the pointers to the physical architecture can be left empty, and the resolution of the entire case is possible in a variable (in the interface)? In other words, the question of the physical architecture can be returned to a point where it is resolved by executing the interface.

    Here is an example...

I want to access a file, X.JNK, stored in the C:\MYDIR directory on the host A.

Today the physical architecture to C:\MYDIR points and the interface ID identifies X.JNK (like a variable < PROJECTNAME >. < Filename >, for example #MYPROJ.) JUNKFILE = X.JNK).

The directory is also stored in a variable (such as < PROJNAME > < DIRECTORY >, for example #MYPROJ.) JUNKDIRECTORY = C:\MYDIR), and so the "complete" for the file address is:

    # < PROJENAME > < DIRECTORY >------# < PROJNAME > < DIRECTORY > =

    #MYPROJ. JUNKDIRECTORY\ #MYPROJ. JUNKDIRECTORY =

    C:\MYDIR\X.JNK

Being given that the installation, can the physical architecture be left blank (except for the information of the host) and the interface is running with #MYPROJ. JUNKDIRECTORY\ #MYPROJ. JUNKDIRECTORY?

    Best,

    pajacobsen

You propose the solution #1, i.e. the registration of a name of variable in the drop-down list boxes ("directory (schema) ': ' and ' directory (scheme of work): '") in the entrance of the physical architecture.

    Fix? Yes

In addition, you are proposing, for reasons of convenience, that the variable must be comprehensive

Fix? Yes, I use a Global Variable.

If so, have you tried and it works?

    Yes it works.

Please close the message, if your problem is solved and mark the helpful answer or response accordingly.

  • Risks and impacts on the changes in the physical and logical structures used in ODI

What are the risks and impacts on the changes in the physical and logical structures used in ODI?

I wonder what can be changed and the risks and impacts that may occur changes in the physical and logical structures used in projects of ODI?

You should not change the name of logic. Because in ODI, each model is connected to a logic diagram.
You shouldn't be changing technology too because that would need a change to all models and the KMs that have been used in the development of interfaces and procedures, etc.

Nothing under the physical schema can be changed for example. Connection, user, etc.
ODI uses the logical schema. And it matches the physical schema in the runtime using contexts.

  • How to import excel as sorce of data file in the physical layer OBISE correctly?

    Hello world
I am trying to import an excel as a data source in the physical layer OBISE. I create the ODBC which link to the correct file (http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe_bi/bi_ee_1013/bi_admin/biadmin.html#t1)
only imported the Excel using the import of database tool in the administration of Oracle's BI. I see the Excel but I can't see data in it. Can you help me, please? I'm new in the present.

Do you have a range in excel file?

The name of table range represents in the physical layer after you import excel file.

    See this example of blog:
    http://obiee101.blogspot.com/2008/06/OBIEE-Excel-import-prepping-data.html

Have you used the import of database and select excel data source that you created in ODBC?

I did the same thing and works for me.

Save first repository and display the data and verify the source of data/name connection pool in your excel database directory.

  • How to export a user instance data and import it into another instance of a directly without storing the physical file.

    Dear all,

I need your help I need to export data from user a (1 instance) and import it on another an instance without storage on location.

I used to do as an export of data about the physical location and then import into another instance where I stored the dump file on physical location.

Now I don't want to follow these method (standard method), is there any way possible means kindly share with me. Thank you very much in advance.

  • Export profiles on URM and import the physical metadata

    Dear all,

I want to ask is there any menu to export and import the physical metadata and profiles on the management of records (URM)?

I already try the Migration Admin Config menu but seems that only contained metadata could export and import in this menu.

Is there someone never export and import metadata and profile?

    Best regards

    Akhmad H Gumas

    Hi Charly,

For metadata, access files - Import / Export - Archives - physical related objects.

There, the option to include custom metadata PCM is what you are looking for.

  • ODI physical Architecture Agent not working

    Hello

My ODI server is on Linux and the client is windows. I'm testing the agent and I get the following error.
"ODI-1424 - Agent Host or port can be reached using http://localhost:20910 / oraclediagent".

    I have the following values

    Host = localhost
    Port = 20910
Content of the Web Application = oraclediagent
    Protocol = http
Maximum number of sessions = 1000

Please let me know how to solve this problem. Thank you for yor time and help.

autonomous agent doesn't have to start adminserver/managedserver weblogic, weblogic / a is used for the j2ee agent, odiconsole and public webservice.

your independent agent can be installed in any machine, not always on the same machine as weblogic or customer.

If your client's Studio, and it is different from the machine that autonomous agent is started, when to set physical agent, do not use localhost, you must use the autonomous agent machine name or ip address.

BTW, before trying to start the agent of standlaone, you must change odiparams.sh or .bat to provide correct information.

  • Get the error when importing topology, 11.3 to 11.5 ODI scenarios

    Hello

Recently, I had installed ODI 11.1.5.
Now, I'm importing topology and scenarios exported from my former ODI 11.1.3 via script shell on a Linux machine.

  • Could not import a custom in the physical layer table

    Background
    **********
We are implementing the OBI Applications
The RPD is OBI (analytical) applications, a. We created custom tables and are now building the logic layer.

    Problem
    *******
Created a new custom table in the physical OBAW using the username of the OBI (analytical objects owner)

Connected to the BI-Admin offline using the user/pwd administrator name

Utility of used import, the appropriate custom table table (you can see in the dialog box), taken from the warehouse. It brings up the dialog box, and it looks like it is to import the table (by displaying the file flying over).

Updating of the RPD. Even tried to connect and again.

When you check the physical layer you do not see the custom table. Y at - it a cache that needs to be eliminated?

have you checked if it creates a new connection pool and the table under this new connection pool?

  • import of the physical additional columns

    Hi the gems...

am new in OBIEE (10.1.3.4.1)... until today ' today, I worked on the repository that is already built by someone.
During this time, the product has been upgraded and this is why there are a lot of tables and a lot of columns in existing tables have been added to the schema.

so now, depending on the condition, I need to import some new tables and all new columns to existing tables in the repository.

New tables I can import from the file-> import-> from database.

But how can I import the new columns to existing tables? is there any other way to do it manually one by one and then update all the line account?

    Please help... Thanks in advance...

    Hello

    It is also similar.

are you going to RPD--> menu--> file--> import metadata--> enter the user ID, password you are then u DSNS
Select the new table/columns and then import it.

Save it and then update all heads of rank.
