Impossibility of blackBerry Smartphones using Blackberry Messenger with Wifi
Hi all
I started having a problem with Blackberry Messenger about 5 days ago, I can't add contacts, send or receive messages while using on Wifi. I get like a small watch red on the side all I'm trying to send messages and my contact is never any of these messages.
I'm actually abroad so I try to use Wifi I want to pay a huge phone bill, I contacted my service provider, they say that everything goes well on their side, after making a few test (send me messages and beyond) and told me that the problem could be the Blackberry server. I've been abroad compared with the month last 2 and as I said problems only started a few days ago.
Someone of you adds a similar problem? Have you managed to fix it?
Thanks for your time
Vincent

BlackBerry Smartphones using two BB with the same account of Blackberry.
Currently, I have a BB 9900 and is considering obtaining a BBZ10. The 9900 has a standard sim card by which the Z10 I think a micro sim. (I still have to talk to my service provider relating to the regime of a sim 2)
Is it possible to use two phones at the same time, if my provider allows, regarding BB services etc. using the same account etc?
I thought that I have addressed this before first topic to contact my ISP.
Thank you.
Kind regards.
You ask the subject from the BBID even on both devices?
Yes, to a certain extent, on the data.
E-mail and social accounts like Facebook and Twitter works perfectly.
BlackBerry Messenger will use only a BBID on a device at a time... If you have the same BBID on both devices, you will need to choose which will be your active BBM.
Of course, the main question to this is if your mobile operator will allow two SIM cards with the same account. Doubtful.

BlackBerry Smartphones using BB Messenger on the international scene
I'm heading to the Australia on a trip in the next few months and I was wondering if I will still be able to use BB Messenger on my curve while I'm foreign...
If I can, are there additional charges that will be assessed?
I'm sure your company would be the only one to answer this question. Besides that if you tell them you can check exactly what expenses / change would.
If you need more information please ask, other wise you could solve the thread by using the options on the right?
Thank you!

Curve of blackBerry Smartphones used to synchronize with outlook
I had my phone for about 2 months with no problems. I tried to sync the BB through the USB port on my Outlook calendar. It goes to a certain folder and no synchronization. The program of the break, then he must stop State.
I tried to reinstall the software, take the battery and try again. Now, the Director of bureau says that there is no device connected, when the phone is in effect. It is connected through the same USB cable and port, as always with success, I used. The device shows that it is load and connected via USB, and I can use the card out of holder, which means to me that the computer recognizes the device, but the Desktop Manager is not.
I also tried to delete all of the rim as shown in another post on the Board of Directors, and this solution didn't or didn't help.
Help! Thank you!
I think I can understand the problem.
I have indeed restart the computer, and I use only a USB cord, not a docking station.
Here's what I think I've found somehow. BlackBerry dislikes Outlook folders with weird things in the note section (i.e.. Attachments or html links). There is a calendar folder that I noticed that I added when this happened. He had an html link in the section notes. After removing the link in this article, I did the following:
(1) use the Blackberry software disk and completely uninstall the Desktop Manager
(2) battery Blackberry tour and take 1 minute.
(3) when the battery is out of Blackberry, reinstall Office Manager.
(4) restart the computer.
(5) replace the battery and turn on BlackBerry.
(6) run Desktop Manager
(7) select synchronization > Configuration tab > Reset Configuration - this tab closing button
(8) reconnect the Blackberry with the USB cable.
(9) sync Outlook calendar
Seems to work! If all goes well it will continue to work, but if not, I'll let you know. Thanks for the questions! Hope this helps someone else.

BlackBerry 8330 smartphones used to synchronize with Outlook
When hang on my Curve 8330 to my cell phone synchronization does not work. I get no error messages either. I don't have this problem until I installed Blackberry theme Builder. I had to uninstall the Desktop Manager so that the theme generator complete installation. NOT worth to install, incidentally. Generator theme uninstalled, reinstalled Desktop Manager, uninstalled, reinstalled, etc.. No chance it to synchronize. Verizon could not solve the problem either, by sending me a new device. Don't know if it's a problem of device or a laptop.
Desktop Manager version 5.0.1
Curve 8330 os 4.5.0.138
Verizon Wireless
Does anyone else have this problem?
Okie dokie... now try these:
- KB10178 No data is synchronized during the synchronization of data using BlackBerry Desktop Manager, and there is no errors
- KB01451 How to enable Sync advanced logging if a wired synchronization fails
- KB11827 Intellisync does not synchronize information on the BlackBerry smartphone and does not display an error message
and see if something happens to be useful.
See you soon!

BlackBerry Smartphones using Desktop Manager with two BB?
Hello
I have a laptop of Desktop Manager 4.7 v already and a Curve 8900 and I synchronize my Outlook contacts and calendar between the laptop computer and the curve.
I use now a separate BB storm 9500 that I also need to synchronize. Desktop Manager can manage two devices?
Hi and welcome to the forums!
The software uses the PIN as a unique identifier for the BB.
So yes, you can use two. Make sure when you back up the devices you
have a pattern of naming in place to ensure that. IPD file belongs to
the curve and the storm. Or you can store them in different directories.
Thank you

BlackBerry Smartphones USE FOR CURVE 8520 WIFI
I recently bought a blackberry curve 8520 with Fido. My phone is connected to my wifi at home, but I want to assure you that I'm strictly using data NOT wifi (because I don't have a data plan). I noticed that in a network public wifi, a red asterisk * - appears on the WiFi icon in the upper right of the phone. Like this:
(the WiFi symbol is surrounded to demonstrate what I mean when I say WiFi symbol and the asterisk appeared like this)
However on my home network, if it says it is connected, the asterisk does not appear. As you can see it it says "Fido-peanut" (my router name) which means that Yes, I'm "connected..." BUT without the red asterisk on the wifi symbol (with my home WiFi) does that mean that I am not connected correctly? I called Fido and the CSR said she thinks she has something to do with login password in public WiFi, but she's not sure.
The problem seems to be this: when I go on 'The Mobile Network Options' to activate ""data services ' OFF(to make sure that I am only using wifi and no data), the connection fails and I get this message: "
When I turn it on, I am able to connect.
For ""connection preference ": "
what setting should I put if I don't want to use any WIFI data BUT? Yes, the obvious answer would be to choose "WI - Fi" only, but this means that I won't be able to call/text because my mobile connection turns off.
So, how can I make sure I'm really only using wifi and not data when both the data service is turned ON and my wifi is 'connected '?
It is a list of what I've done:
(1) the HOTSPOT USER - check.
(2) insterted PIN provided by the phone to my dlink router (via online)
(3) tried the push button configuration
(4) restarted my router/modem
5) there is a check mark next to the WiFi connection:
It would seem that I am connected to Wifi, but again, to reiterate, that I would like to ask if the WiFi is the ONLY thing I use and not data.
Thank you!
It's pretty simple... IF you are connected to your network Mobile disabled (no phone calls or SMS) you will use ONLY WiFi. Only. As long as you have the 'white' dashboard and the name of the network "green peanut butter", you are connected to WiFi, but without BIS BlackBerry data services.
If you disable Data Services, you will not be able to use data in any form (via WiFi or Mobile network, if it is enabled.)
No BlackBerry data plan, you will be able to use the WiFi hotspot browser and some few third-party apps like Pandora radio.

BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry curve 8520-Blackberry messenger does not work
Recently got a blackberry 8520 burve, one of the main reasons I brought was because of bbm most of my friends have it and reguested me to add, only when I click on their height in waiting, it doesn't have an accept button - but all my friends say it should... I rebooted my phone a lot and I reinstalled bbm at least twice. does anyone have any ideas on how I can sort this out?
Hello!
Yes "EDGE" should be symbolized close signal bar.
Well in your case, you should contact the service provider for activation of your BIS.
Once it is activated, you will be able to use BlackBerry Messenger with no impediment.
I hope that solves your problem!
If your problem has been resolved then would you be asked to click 'Like' and accept as a 'Solution' that other advisors invest it times on this Message more.
Thank you.

BlackBerry Smartphones can BBM (Blackberry Messenger) work without a DATA PLAN?
I have t-mobile with my phone and it does not work with a Web package, I basically live off connection Internet WI - FI. I was curious if I can use BBM (Blackberry Messenger) with only WI - FI connections?
No, unfortunately not. You need a BlackBerry data Plan to use BlackBerry Messenger.

BlackBerry smartphone App World now blocks WiFi AND international vagabonds?
I frequently travel to Israel with my AT & T BlackBerry. When I upgraded to App World 2.0, I was suddenly unable to use App World in Israel ("BlackBerry App World is not currently available in your country") unless I turned off my mobile connection and used WiFi.
Today, I upgraded to App World 2.0.1.12 and now I can not use App World with WiFi! When you try to do, I get the message "you do not have a sufficient wireless coverage or your connection to the wireless network is turned off.
RIM is trying to deprive international travellers? Is that going to be what pushes me to switch to the iPhone or Android?
UPDATE!
I just upgraded my Torch 9800 again (at least for AT & T customers) 6.0.0.526 (2342) OS and now AppWorld works again for me in Israel (have not tried WiFi - and I don't know if it's because the AppWorld is now available for all Israeli BB users or just roamers). I don't know if it is related to the upgrade (perhaps there is a new version of the AppWorld), but the boy I'm glad to have him back!

What will happen?
Pliss help me, brother and sister n
Thank before and after
Hmm... I don't know why your BBM contacts are suspended.
- I would try to backup your BBM contacts on your media card (open BBM > Menu key > Options > backup locally to media card).
- Then, to delete BBM on your device in Options > advanced > Applications (options > device > Applications)
- Perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart.
- Now, reinstall BBM using your Blackberry browser to www.blackberry.com/bbm
- restore your identical to the backup above BBM contacts.

BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry Messenger 7 "combining BBM with your BlackBerry ID"
Just the blackberry bold 9900. Installed BBM, I did the things that he said, that he said 'Associant BBM with your BlackBerry ID' and it has been there for a few hours... everyone that I spoke to said that worked them well. What is the problem with mine? I did a battery several times pull! Anything that can fix this problem?
Hi jcherry2723
Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support
In order to use BBM on our device we need BlackBerry data Plan / BIS on our behalf of our carrier or Mobile service provider, if you don't have that then activate BIS on your account it will correct the problem you are currently experiencing with BBM.
But if you already have BIS then first try to do these steps on any wifi network. If the problem persists, then try these steps and see if that helps:
1. first uninstall BlackBerry Messenger options > device > Application Management > delete BlackBerry Messenger from this list. Then restart your device by removing the battery while your device is turned on.
2. Since a computer reset your BlackBerry ID password
KB26361 : How to change or reset a BlackBerry ID password
3 restart your device again and you connect with your new BlackBerry ID password on your device.
4. Finally of your BlackBerry browsing browse or click here www.blackberry.com/bbm to download the latest version of BBM available for your device. After restarting, your BlackBerry ID can successfully associated with BBM.

BlackBerry smartphones want to use old BlackBerry with wifi only
I want to give my daughter an old Verizon BlackBerry Curve 8530 to use as a device with wifi, gmail/cat-only. It is not active with Verizon (meaning that it has long - since been disabled and is not a phone number that are associated with him).
I have trouble getting the job data. I joined the wifi network but I can not open a Web page or gmail. I played with all the settings of network, but found no solution.
Any ideas?

Hello and welcome to the community!
I can't say what OS you're on, but if I remember correctly the last OS for this model was the one where there was no possibility to make it work on WiFi only. These levels of devices/OS required an active subscription from a company to a data plan BB in order to use all services, even via WiFi only.
I know that's what you were eager to learn, but it is what it is.
Good luck!

Hello I'm owner of BB BOLD 9900 OS 7.1... for the last two days I am facing a pretty annoying problem with the BB browser.
It means not affects the device... it just annoys me.
When I TURN ON my WiFi on my BB with the network carrier Sim already homepage active who has a Active on it and open the web browser BB, according to the website on which I open the web browser chooses between the internet Wi - fi OR internet BIS carrier which is weird. BECAUSE a default if the wifi is enabled, then the web browser MUST use internet wifi network carrier for navigation. YOU TUBE, FB and TWITTER.com all use my carrier netwrok to open bt soon I open BBC.com or CNN or any other site the wifi symbol appears on the right side and so it uses the wifi network... and disappears when I opened THE 3 SITES you tube FB n twitter.
My knowledge is that when you activate THE wifi network, the WEB browser is intended to USE the wireless internet, NOT the internet carrier
The next time I switchd off the the carrier signal, and then Turned ON one internet WI - FI and then opened the web browser of BB. so now all the opend website with wifi internet bt as soon as I open YOU TUBE or FB or TWITTER.com it post a comment... .that cannot visit the web page when the carrier is off. Please turn on the radio n try again... I mean IT SHOULD OPEN with internet wifi? WHY do network carrier sim to open the web page?
I have checkd my browser settings and they are default and also my wifi settings I have reset the... the problem still persists?
any idea wats going on?
Please help is needed I'm annoyed about this problem...
Thank you
MR. KIWI... Good news... .i went to my carrier service center... Solvedo Problemo!
Go to your service books and remove directories of service WAP browser in all directories of service WAP 3 I don't know the exact name, but all are related to the browser... WAP config something like dat... Just remove dem... .and HARD restart your fone... and try to use only wifi on your device with your carrier network off...
mine worked... Let me know on urs... so now, the browser uses my wifi instead of my network provider when both are running...

I've recently updated my BBM to version 7.0.0.126 by suggestion in Blackberry App World. After the upgrade, I am getting an error on the screen every two minutes. It reads:
"You are attemptiing to open a secure connection, but the string server certificate is not valid."
When I click on "View certificate" I get this information:

I made sure that I got everything updated on my Blackberry. Yet the problem persists. I'm on a package version 6.0 of Blackberry Torch 9800 695 (v6.0.0.246, platform 6.4.0.105). When I click "Software updates" under Options, I get: "your BlackBerry is up-to-date.
The error message is driving me crazy and sometimes it is even difficult to get any use out of my phone because it appears whenever he wants, without worrying if I type an e-mail, in contact with someone on BBM or navigation.
How can I get the error message stop popping up?
Hey Netzimon,
When you receive this error message is your BlackBerry smartphone connected to a Wi - Fi network, behind a firewall? If so, please see the following article:

Let me know if it helps.
