Impossible to install Vista on my Toshiba NB250 - 10G

Hello. Toshiba NB250-G, part No. PLL2XE-001001EN origin with win 7 32 bit.

I try to install Vista for compatibility with the family machines. The installation proceeds to the collection of files and then stops with the following message appears:-error code 0 x 80070070 Windows cannot copy files required for installation etc etc. I suspect that the need for a pilot to precede the windows files.

Can someone help me, please?
T I J

Hello

I checked the Toshiba download page, and as I can see your machine is not supported for Vista. It relies for Win7 32-bit only, so, in my opinion, it would be better to stay with Win7.
I don't know what kind of compatibility is important to you, but there is not much difference between Vista and Win7.

I assume that you have created the bootable USB key with Vista. Start the Vista installation wizard is recognized correctly HDD? You can create or choose the partition where the OS is to be installed?

    Hello

I question: is it possible to install Vista recovery disk without erase all data on the HARD drive and destroy the current configuration partition?

Question II: Is it possible to to somehow 'get' the installation of Vista from Toshiba recovery disc files,
integrate em with SP1 and train a separate Vista installation disc?

Question III: How much space do you think I should spare for the primary partition for Vista OS only (file and all the other software will be on other partitions)?

    (1) No, it is not possible to install Vista from the Toshiba Recovery disk without format the whole HARD drive.
You can only use the HARD drive recovery feature if you don t want to erase the whole HARD drive. Then only the first partition is erased.

    (2) No, this is not possible. The recovery disk contains factory settings in an image and you can change something. You must install SP1 after installing Windows.

    (3) you must use the 15 or 20 GB for the system partition, but if you reinstall Vista, you reinstall all of the programs. So you can install all the programs on the first partition.

  • Impossible to install Vista on Satellite A300 PSAGCE - not ACPI compliant

    Hello

I'm recovering the laptop from a friend.
He has installed Windows XP on its Satellite A300 PSAGCE and concluded that of course XP 32-bit Windows does not support the full functionality of the laptop.

Now I wanted to reinstall Vista that came with it. I have two recovery DVD but when I wanted to start them (them two DVDs) I always get the error message that the system is not fully ACPI-compatible.

Now of course this laptop should work with Vista and the provided restore DVD should work as well, no?
I tried to download a Bios nw, but it seems 1.10 is the most recent.

I also can't find all the ACPI settings in the BIOS that I could activate.

    Could someone help me?
It is really urgent and driving me crazy!

    Thank you!

    Hello

Strange! Usually, if you have created the DVD recovery Toshiba using the TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator then everything should work correctly and you should be able to install Vista on this A300!

I put t know if you have changed something in the BIOS or elsewhere, but you should access the BIOS and should define the default settings.
Then try to boot from the recovery DVD Toshiba again.

    Good luck

  • Impossible to install Vista 32 bit or Windows 7 on my Satellite L300D

    Does installation starts correctly?
On what stage is stays and doesn't go further?

  • Impossible to install Vista Service Pack 2

Vista Service Pack 2 (KB948465) have not installed yesterday morning via my auto-download of Windows.  When the "failed" dialog box came, the error code given was 80070490.

I then tried a 'manual' download via the Microsoft Download site - it did not work.  Provided a link directing me to http://support.microsoft.com/kb947366.  He suggested download "tool update for Vista (KB947821) system, which I did, ran, then rebooted and tried again auto-download of Windows.  It is always impossible to install, with the same code (80070490) given.

During all this time, and reading various troubleshooting suggestions, I realized that I had to disable my antivirus, protection against spyware, etc.  So I did, then tried again auto-download of Windows.  It has always failed.  Then I tried the manual download (I had saved the executable file in my "Download" folder).  But it still does not work.

Somewhere else troubleshooting suggested to disable antispyware/virus, reset programs and open in safe mode - which I did, then tried the executable file downloaded, I had previously saved in my folder "Download".  But it still doesn't work.  This time, the dialog box has given me a little bit more information: "Installation was not successful.  Item was not found.  Details (a link that I clicked on) and it will read: error: ERROR_NOT_FOUND (0 x 80070490).

So I've now used up what little expertise I have - you suggested I should try next?

    Thank you!

  • Impossible to install Vista SP2, says needs update of system tool

I use Windows Vista Home Premium 32 - bit edition with Service Pack 1.  His ability to perform automatic and manual, updates have not completely.  When I try to update, it tells me that I need what is called a system update tool.  The Download Center Windows says I need Service Pack 2 to use this tool.  But when I tried to install Service Pack 2, it failed, saying he needs the system update tool.

Then... I need Service Pack 2 to install the system update readiness tool, and I need the analysis of system update tool to install Service Pack 2?  Huh?

The only other option I can find for this is to fix the "CBS Manifest" which is apparently corrupt.  To do this, I need to "repair Windows" using "Windows DVD.  But this computer comes with pre-installed Windows and did not come with a 'Windows DVD.

Is there a solution to this problem?  Any advice would be helpful and appreciated.  I ran virus and malware scanners, are looking for things that can interfere with the update process, defragmented my hard drive and cleaned the registry.  What other options are available?

  • Impossible to install Vista on Portege M400 - not compatible with ACPI

    Hello

    I have a toshiba portege m400.
It has windows xp professional installed SP3 (the former owner he replaced with that of the xp tablet edition - I want to upgrade to vista so I can have the capabilities of the rear shelf!)

In any case, I have a vista version - a version upgrade Home premium.
When I try to install it it comes up with the error:

+' This computer is not compliant with the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) standard. Windows must be installed on a computer that supports ACPI. Contact the manufacturer of your computer for an update of the BIOS, or install Windows on an ACPI compatible computer. " +

When I try to boot from the cd it gets up to when I type in the product key, but then he tells me I have to run this from my current operating system.

I tried to update the BIOS (it is currently 1.8 and I heard vista needs 2.0 at least). I tried to install the latest driver from the Web from Toshiba - BIOS version 3.2.8 site but it says "this computer is not supported" even if I went through the procedure of choice of type of my laptop and spec and the pilot came on his list.
Now I'm pulling my hair out.

    Can someone help me please!
Would be to get a full version of vista (not an upgrade version) work and boot from the cd because it seemed to go further like this?

    Thank you!

    Hi guys

I think I know how you will be able to update the BIOS

I read here in the forum that in very rare cases, you have the Toshiba preinstalled OS in order to update the BIOS
So in my opinion, you will be able to update the BIOS if install you the operating system from the Toshiba recovery disc.
After installation try to update the BIOS

After the BIOS has been updated you could install the new Vista

    See you soon

  • Impossible to install the Player DVD Toshiba HD for Windows 7-64 bit

Laptop: Toshiba Qosmio G40 with windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit

I can't install the driver of DVD HD Toshiba for Windows 7-64 bit 4.60.03 from 30/11/09!

The facility will be cancel information that the software cannot be installed on this system.

Problem is that the file that you downloaded is not the player but just an update.
Usually, you should be able to install player designed for Vista and install this updated level, but eventually I can see, Toshiba doesn't offer HD DVD player for Vista 64-bit.

I assume that your laptop comes with Vista 32 bit only. Am I right about that?

  • Impossible to install Vista 64-bit on Qosmio F20 - HDD not visible

during the installation of windows Vista-64, it does not recognize the hard drive. My Qosmio Toshiba raid scsi LD0 drive a.

    Hello

Vista 64 bit does not recognize the HARD drive because the RAID driver has not been installed in a previous step.
You need to install the RAID driver first, and then Vista will see HARD drive!

But I think there could be a problem with the installation of the 64-bit version.
The driver of Toshiba page doesn t provide any drivers for the 64 bit OS and you will find all drivers 64-bit RIAD.
You can try to install the 32-bit version but I m not sure if it will run.

    You can test it!

  • Impossible to install WIN 7 SP1 on NB250

When I run Windows Update on the laptop NB250 installing Windows 7 SP1 is recommended. Even if the computer is not able to install this update and shows error code 800F0829.

In this site, I learned that NB250 is compatible with SP1. That is why I would ask a solution for this problem. Thanks in advance for your collaboration.

After the error code the computer show something like "connect the computer to an electrical outlet and try again" if so try the update with your computer connected to a power supply.

If this does not work there is a troubleshooting guide for updates: -.
Open the Windows Update troubleshooting tool by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooting, and then click Troubleshooting. Under system and security, click Fix problems with Windows Update.

    Hello @ll

Make sure that the hard drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any hardware configuration of the drives is correct!

    Any sugesstion thx!

    Hey Buddy

I have to smile to read this message. :)
    Do you know why?
Because you can find many threads here in the forum about this theme

It s not only model Qosmio but you will answer a question also on all the laptops with the latest SATA controller!
You must install the SATA driver, which is part of the Intel storage Manger or you can set the mode SATA (in BIOS) with compatible mode.
But I'm not very well if this Qosmio supports this option of Mr. However you should check it out!

As mentioned above; There are many threads on this installation of the SATA driver so read it!

  • Impossible to install Vista Service Pack 1

Hello. I have tried everywhere looking for a solution but does. My computer will not install Windows Vista Service Pack 1. I don't get the error messages. I click Download and install via Windows Update. To install the service pack. I am asked that it can take an hour or more. Then I have to click on the acceptance contract. After clicking on these screens, a new windows update screen pops up saying update installed successfully. Said the same thing in my history of update. After windows update closing and reopening, Windows Vista Service Pack 1 is back to the list of updates to install. This happens every time. The system makes no effort to install the update and doesn't give any error message.

I tried to start in safe mode, but it still didn't install. Reinstalling Windows is not an option, because other users of this computer would be panic. I defragmented the hardrive and did an error check. Also ran CCleaner and one analyzing antivirus and ad-ware/malware. Nothing works. I know a lot about computers, but this one me stem.

I also tried update readiness tool. Someone suggested that to me. A took about 25 minutes to install. He then said 'Installation '. I liquidated it and tried the service pack. Still a no go. So I rebooted the system and tried to install it then. It has not yet installed. I don't really know what did Update Readiness Tool.

I also tried to install the stand-alone version. He has not installed and said that Windows update has encountered an unknown error. This is the version of 5 language pack.
