Impossible to scan after to the top of Windows 8.1 collation

I recently upgraded from XP to 8.1 and now my photosmart all-in-one will not scan.  It will print, but it will not scan from the printer.  I tried windows fax and scan, but it says that no scanner is installed.  I have the original disc but it says for windows vista or XP.  He moved without using the disc so I am at a loss.

Hey @Ferner,

Thanks for getting back to me with your printer model information. Now that I know that you're using a HP Photosmart e-all-in-one printer D110a, I'm happy to guide you to a solution for this problem of scanning. It is likely that when you upgraded to Windows 8.1 package full feature software and driver of your HP Photosmart camera does not load correctly on your computer Windows 8.1. If the packet driver HP full software functionality not load successfully, the HP scanning software and the driver will be available. That being said, can I please have you follow the steps below to resolve this issue.

  • If you are using a USB connection cable please unplug this cable before continuing.

Step 1: Remove the printer:

It is crucial that there is no trace of your left of the printer on the computer before making the correction for troubleshooting purposes. In this way, once we install your HP Photosmart camera successfully, you won't double installed printers.

  1. Open your screen to Start by selecting the Windows icon at the bottom left of the computer screen or by selecting the Windows key bottom left of your keyboard, to the right of the Ctrl key
  2. In the beginning of screen type devices and printers. Click on devices and printers to open the window.
  3. Once the devices and printers open please right click on your Device HP Photosmart and left click on 'remove an instrument' or 'Remove'.
  4. Once the printer has been removed successfully, please close devices and printers.

Please proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Remove temporary files:

  1. Open your screen to Start by selecting the Windows icon at the bottom left of the computer screen or by selecting the Windows key bottom left of your keyboard, to the right of the Ctrl key
  2. On the start screen, type run. Click on Run to launch the run dialogue box.
  3. In the run box type %temp% , and then click OK
  4. When the Temp folder opens, select Ctrl + A at the same time on your keyboard. Everything in this folder will highlight now.
  5. Select the "delete" button on your keyboard. The Temp folder contains the temporary internet files. None of the actual files or folders on your computer will be affected by deleting Temp files. A Temp file should you will automatically get the pop up to 'jump' this point.
  6. Close the Temp folder when it is empty
  7. Right-click the recycling bin on your desktop and select empty recycling bin

Please proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Install the device:

Please click here to download the HP printer installation wizard. Once you have downloaded the tool, please run the tool. This tool will search and install the package to the full functionality of the software and the driver for your HP Photosmart camera. Once the pilot was found automatically, please follow the prompts on the screen to install your printer. If you use a USB cable connection do not connect the USB cable until the installation program invites you to.

Once installation is complete, please try printing and scanning to confirm that your product works properly.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hear from you!

While trying to reinstall Windows 7 on my Dell Inspiron 1545 of the reinstall DVD after you have installed a hard drive again, I got this message: error message "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error" after starting the system on Windows 7 Recovery. Tried F10, SHIFT F10 and nothing happened. Then I tried a suggestion of virtual Agent to press F8 to get to advance Boot Options, but this option does not appear! Help!

For Dell cptrs, you will need to press F12 to access the unique Boot Order Menu(= a temporary setting), little after the Dell logo appears on the desktop. U hv only 5 seconds to do, b4 the cptr will automatically initialize to top with the internal HARD disk.

....... F12 is usually used to start the cptr since the DVD player or a plugged in USB-flash drive with a Win 7 install or recovery media.

To permanently change the boot order, you must similarly press F2 to access the full Boot configuration Menu. The default boot device is the internal HARD drive, but this can be changed to DVD player, USB, disk, network drive, etc. F2 is usually used to start the cptr of an external hard drive(= USB HDD) that contains a bootable Linux operating system.

Running W7 pro 64-bit. Had the problems of virus/malware, finally restored my discs from image system, dated 2 weeks ago and then restore backup files dated Windows from yesterday.

  • Time protection real HELP in MSE stopped working after running the utility in Windows Live OneCare cleanup tool?

Protection in real time in MSE stopped working after running the utility in Windows Live OneCare cleanup tool? Error Code: 0x800705b4

    Hello Wally,

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

The question error codes and the description that you get suggests that you are facing problem when using MSE. This problem may occur if other security software, such as antivirus, antispyware and antimalware programs, are totally or partially installed on the computer.

I suggest to change firewall security settings or disable temporary security on the system software and try using MSE and see if it makes a difference. How to temporarily disable security software, you can view the article mentioned below.

    Disable the antivirus

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attack.

For more details, please see the article mentioned below and see that it helps you to fix the problem.

  • After saving the emails from windows live mail, why not open them on my computer as the file extension is wlmail.fol?

After saving the emails from windows live mail, why not open them on my computer as the file extension is wlmail.fol?

wlmail.fol is a tiny text giving the name of the folder. The exported messages will have filenames like 00D13E83 - 000025DF.eml. If you don't see all of the files like this, your export probably did not work properly.

For a successful export, follow these directions:

    1. Set Windows Live Mail to work offline before starting.
    2. Create a temporary folder on your desktop * to contain the exported messages.
    3. In the Export Wizard, select the temporary folder, and then select all the folders.* *
    4. When it is complete, check that the number of files in each folder to the temporary folder is one more than the number of messages in the corresponding folder of WLMail.
    5. Copy the temporary file to its final destination.
If you use a reader not NTFS to do this, you will see a warning that certain file properties will not be copied files. This can be ignored.

    * Windows Live Mail do not work with files that are not on a local drive, as opposed to an external or network drive. This is avoided by using the office as a temporary folder location.
    * If you want to export the files sampled only, select each of them containing messages. Subfolders are not automatically selected by default.

There is no native function to Muse to achieve this goal. However, if you host your site on Business Catalyst, you can take advantage of the functionality of breadcrumbs. He won't let the open drop-down list stay, but it will show customers on what page they are and that he can see that they have followed to reach the page. • A system totally crashed after downloading the update of windows 7 (from VHP) reloaded vista starting the Dell restore partition and reattach the requirements. Now, how can I restart upgrade

OK, here's the deal... the Dell laptop had a recurring software validation fixed an error that I couldn't keep. I would fix it, Vista should go out and update itself and then I would reboot and bang, back right to the error again, I decided to scrap Vista and install W7. I corrected the error again once restarted in a stable Outlook, downloaded files of Windows 7 upgrade and then discovered that the netframework wasn't right, so I downloaded this solution, am to halfway through it and got a system error. HA! I'll just copy this download upgrade of the window on a USB key, hover over all my personal files on the usb drive, and reinstall Vista from the Dell partition, which I did. Then, I updated all the stuff with the Advisor to upgrade of windows, is gone in Windows 7 upgrade file I moved it to the USB and realized that this point in time, I was an asshole. What a breakthrough!  OK, now how to restart the upgrade process. I paid the money, done the downloads, message, so my hands, discussed and done all the other stuff I've done since the upgrade of Windows 3.1 (each time). Now what...

First I would contact the people who sold you download and see if they will send again free of charge - explain the problem.  I guess you still have the product key, they have sent you that shouldn't be a problem (it will work with any download the same version of Windows7).

Then run Windows7 Upgrade Advisor to see if your system can handle Windows7 or if she need for software or material removed or updgraded: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/get/upgrade-advisor.aspx.  Follow the instructions he gives as a result of the program (in fact, you should do this first - then you can deal with the download).

After that, you need to further questions in the Windows7 Forums: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7install/threads where people who specialize in the installation and upgrade to Windows7 will be more than happy to help you in the process.  This is a forum for Vista, and you need to talk to experts in Windows7.

    I hope this helps.

  • 500 error after installing the CF on Windows Server 2008 IIS7 9.0.2

After installing the CF 9.0.2 on Windows Server 2008 with IIS7, I get an error 500 return of all my websites.  I made sure to change the permissions in the C:\ColdFusion9 folder to full control for psaadm, psacln.  I'm sure that CGI, ISAPI extensions and ISAPI filters are installed.  I rebooted.  I can access the administration of CF on the server, but all of my websites are generating 500 errors on remote browsers.  The uninstall does not solve the problem.  Help, please.  What can I do?

Problem solved!  It was related to incompatibilities of 32-bit/64-bit with Plesk.  There are two steps to solve this problem:

1 snap the Internet Information services manager, access the properties of the advanced application pool and enable 32-Bit Applications 'false' for plesk (default) (2.0) (pool) value.

    2. in Plesk, disable the Web statistics (accessible via password protected directory ' / plesk-stat/webstat /')

Note that you will not be able to use the functionality of Plesk protected directory until Plesk solves this problem.

I recently installed windows 7 ultimate after formatting the drive. Then downloaded all the drivers from the Web site list. but still a "peripheral Unknows" remain in Device Manager. What could be this driver? I installed Support help, he couldn't do anything either.

    Any help is greatly appreciated

  • Taskbar at the top, high Windows to hide under the taskbar when opened

I had this problem with all versions of windows that I can remember since I've been putting the taskbar to the top of the screen.  Why Windows was never designed to properly use this configuration is beyond me.  In fact, it's a way far more productive things with the taskbar at the top.
Anyway, I fixed this 'error' every time, but I do not remember how it was done before.

Usually, to fix it I have temporarily move the taskbar, move the window in question down and bring back the taskbar. It is not very productive.  Most programs should remember their position when closed, but apparently are not remembered.  There should be a way to force windows to open on top of the taskbar.  I know I could auto hide the taskbar, but I don't want to do that.

    I use Windows 7.

    Thank you

BTW, I did a search but have not found anything like that, but maybe it is expressed in a way very strange lol.

There is a custom here solution: http://www.sevenforums.com/customization/44913-disabletaskbarontop-disable-taskbar-always-top-9.html but for all practicial reasons, this is a "by design" feature in Windows 7.

  • What happens if there is multi-core or Dual-Core coupling processors to the top with Windows 7 Home Premium?

So if I have a Windows7 Home Premium 64 - bit operating system and I use a processor dual core (Intel Dual Core e5300 CPU) are fully compatible or how they work together, given the fact that Windows 7 recognizes that one of the two processors? Playback of the system is expressed in the fact that it has two current processors. Both processors work simultaneously to form a combined data stream is a dormant or they turn on and off opposing to another so that each works half the time? Many scenarios as possible, but I would like to know... the real answer as to what needs to be changed eventually to bring together a system more fluid? My main question is the operating system and the processor may be an incompatibility problem that has not yet been addressed? I can't find any answer in the Center Compatabiity of Windows 7 or anywhere else. Or is the limitation of windows 7 Home Premium and only be able to support an unfounded processor see the fact that there are many systems that are in work today with these components. ?

    Hey Randy,

If your system has two separate physical processors (not hearts) and you are running Windows 7 Home Premium, the second processor is completely ignored. It turns on and turn his fans, but it does not all rights for the computer. Windows 7 Home Premium will not take advantage of a single processor.

However, if you have a single physical processor with multiple cores, Windows 7 64-bit will benefit from up to 256 cores. It is very probably the type of machine that you have because it is quite rare to have multiple processors co-location in a workstation computer.

In this scenario, Windows will use two cores for separate tasks. Applications will be evenly distributed between the carrots, unless the application has been written to take advantage of multiple cores. The two hearts are turned on and both are used when the system is running.

You can check if Windows has recognized the two hearts looking Manager of the tasks of your system:

    1. Open the Task Manager by right-clicking the taskbar, and then click Start Task Manager.
    2. Click the performance tab.

The top two graphs show how much CPU is used, as well at the moment and for a few minutes. If the CPU usage history graph seems shared, your computer has multiple processors, a single dual-core CPU or both.

Windows 7 system requirements also go in a little more detail on how many windows cores/processors can take in charge:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/systemrequirements

Hope this helps to answer your question!
