Y at - it an option to add the drop-down list in documaker and make it as a user to select the values from the drop down once the pdf file is generated?

If you ask if Documaker can create a PDF file that could have a field in the PDF file generated with an associated drop-down list, the answer is no. This would require a PDF "to fill", then that brings up a number of other issues.

  • Preview.app stuck on the first page of the PDF in single page mode

I regularly Preview.app view PDF files and want to use the "Single Page" function to display an entire page at one time. I have 'Single Page' display set as the default behavior.

Lately when I open a PDF file, they properly open the first page, but I am unable to navigate to another page via the drop-down page, touch up/down arrow. If the PDF file has a table of contents, I am able to go beyond the first page through it and then proceed to navigate normally. If it is not a table of contents, the only solution is to continuous scrolling mode and continue to navigate beyond the first page.

It's very annoying! Unfortunately, I can't remember where this started happening. It could be when I upgraded to MacOS Sierra, but I can't confirm.

    Everyone else see this behavior?

  • Overview of Sierra blacking out diagrams in PDF

When you view a PDF user manual, and some of the diagrams are blackened. Read properly user manual front of Sierra. A new pdf download does not help. The document is displayed correctly in SC6. All the patches?

    Hi, Mike V Nano.

I see your message that your PDF document is not correctly displayed in the preview for macOS Sierra. I'll be happy to help.

As you notice this with several pdf files and these files seem to be display correctly in another app, looks like you have isolated this problem with preview more precisely. First, open preview and choose Exit in the application menu in the menu bar, or press command-Q to close the application. When you re - open preview, hold down the SHIFT key on your keyboard while you open the program. This will temporarily prevent the application to reopen his documents and its windows. A test to see if you still notice the same problem after you perform this step. If you haven't already done so, try to restart your Mac to see if the problem persists as well.

If the problem persists after trying the above steps, I would like for you to start in safe mode and test for the problem there. Take a look at the following resources for more information on this process:

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning - Apple Support

If the problem persists in safe mode, it may be a good idea to test this behavior in an another user account on your Mac. This will help you locate the problem. Take a look at this Web site for more information:

  • Giant PDF scans from Sierra update

I like to use the 'digital images' app to scan documents and save them directly as a PDF. Ever since I updated my system to Mac OS Sierra pdf files created when scanning are about three times the size they were before and I can't find a place to change the setting for that. I don't want to use a different software since it worked perfectly fine before the update. Any ideas?

Same question. I have been in contact with Apple Support who had no idea about this, and it should report a bug. Most of the reports are more likely to get noticed: http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html

  • Scan with preview - several Pages of a PDF THAT does not work in Mac OS Sierra

    Hello everyone,

I had upgraded my Macbook Pro (early 2011) to Mac OS Sierra. A famous feature of older versions of Mac OS is to use Preview to scan documents to PDF format, joined the pages scanned all of a single document.

After upgrading to Sierra this feature does not work correctly. The pages are not more combined into a single PDF. Anyone who has observed the same problem?

    Best regards from the Germany

    Jörg

Yes, it's been posted here several times.

    Thank you very much.

  • Sierra affecting Preview App PDF edition

    Hi all

I had my company created as an editable PDF invoice.  View this model of invoice 3 years by Preview app, I was able to easily change addresses of clients, invoice details, amount of fees, taxes, etc.  When finished I would export a copy of the Bill, which would be a version not editable I send to my clients.

Since the update to Sierra last week, I am not able to use the preview or any other application modify my invoice template.  As I'm typing in text information, some lines of previous text disappear when exporting some or most of the text in the new version disappeared, there is a change in text from the white to the black color in the lower area of the fees of $ final.

After many attempts, a customer told me on this subject - somehow, I was able to export a version they could read in Adobe Acrobat format, but they have also commented that Acrobat showed the following warning: there is an error on this page.  Acrobat may not display the page correctly.  Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem.

After 3 years of working perfectly, now my Bill is haunted! Corrections or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Kind regards

    -Cindy

  • PDF Image Capture files

Since the update to Sierra (although I can't say that this was the cause of the problem), I have a problem when parsing and saving documents in PDF format using the image transfer application. A PDF file is created but when I open the pages are naked with perhaps only sometimes visible top line (and which appears at the bottom of the page!). This problem occurs only when I choose the PDF format; If I choose to save as an image file (PNG, for example), it works fine.

My printer driver is up to date and if I use software of third parties (e.g., HP Scan) this problem is specific to the application of Capture of Image so I can create PDF files successfully.

This problem occurs on my iMac Mini and Mac Book Pro which have been updated for the last OS of Sierra

You see the problem even if you scan to PDF using Preview?

I use an excerpt instead of the Image Capture to do this and he continues to work very well in the Sierra AFAICT. I'll try with the Image Capture when I get the chance, just to compare. He used to work as well, but I've not scanned with it in quite awhile.

When I export to PDF of Pages (5.6.2), there is no option to show or hide the extension of the Ang, given that in many applications. But he still has the name of the file:

  • How to create a PDF/X1a on a Mac? (with or without iWork)

    Hi all
    I don't have an idea what is a "PDF/X1a.
I know how to create or convert PDF files on a mac, with the Preview app and the iWork.

    But a "PDF/X1a? What is c?

Anyone know how to create or convert a "PDFX/X1a?

    Thanks to you all.

    Here is an explanation:

    https://www.prepressure.com/PDF/basics/PDFX-1A

Frankly, I didn't know there are different "flavors". I create .pdf for years without knowing or worry about this. I just use an excerpt:

Or, if you are in a document Pages (iWork as long that is not really exist anymore - there are separate applications: Pages, Numbers, Keynote), use the export as PDF option.

Have never heard of someone that they were not able to read the PDF, I sent as an attachment.

  • I am trying to print PDFS from Safari, but can not see the page numbers

I just opened a document PDF 700 + pages in Safari and need to print the odd pages and there, but I can't see the page numbers displayed when I scroll the document. When I view the same document on an iPad, the page numbers change when I scroll but on my iMac (with the help of Safari 10) they appear not at all - and 700 + pages is a lot to go wrong! The clues how I can spend on 'display the page number?

The default Apple PDF Internet plug-in used by Safari does not display the page numbers (except if they are in the footer of the PDF document in question), and there is no setting in Safari preferences to turn on this feature. Your best bet is to download the PDF file, then open it in preview or Acrobat Reader, where the thumbnails will be the correlation to page numbers. Then you can select several arbitrary thumbnails using the control button to print those selected pages. In the Pages section of the print Panel, you select "Selected Pages in the sidebar".

The PDF Internet plug-in installed by Adobe Acrobat Reader or Pro displays the page current and total page in its turnaround Panel. If there are page numbers in the footer of the PDF file accessed, they are not deleted. You must enable Internet Adobe plug-in to Safari preferences: Security Panel.

  • Display PDF in iOS 10 problem

After the passage in iOS10 on my iPhone 6s, iPadPro 9.7 "and the iPadPro 12.9" I was shocked to see that a large part of my PDFs isn't is no longer displays correctly.

I have thousands of scanned documents, containing the text + image in compressed PDF format. Until iOS9, they were posted correctly in each version of the iOS, just as it should, and as they also in each program PDF on my Windows 7 PC. But in iOS10, they appear with letter completely blurred, as if the fonts were displayed twice (image + text), but lines out of alignment. The fuzzy text is hard to read.

This blurry text in ALL my scanned documents appears in ALL known PDF reading apps: start with iBooks app Apple own, GoodReader, Documents to Readdle, PDF Reader or apps like Expert PDF and tastes, until import into apps like good Notes, etc. More Notes of note-taking.

I use my PDF files in a professional, not only for private use and this bug is a disaster and a complete no go any professional use IOS devices.

Apple will have this problem is serious, and can I expect an iOS10 fix soon?

Apple may provide no work around until then?

Today, I downloaded an update of two applications of Readdle: Documents and expert PDF:

I am VERY relieved that this update has resolved the problem, after a terrible week with fuzzy pdfs in all directions!

If so, it seems that the other apps (inluding iBooks own apples) could get a fix in an update soon as well.

  • Safari 10 not not automatically opening PDF files

Yes, I have the box checked in the preferences to automatically open reliable files after downloading. I have tried many different websites PDF files now, and none of them does not open automatically.

I tried to delete the preferences of Safari, but that did not help.

Does anyone else have this problem?

For security reasons, I don't have Safari 10: preferences: general Panel: Open Safe files after downloading verified. It has nothing to do with the opening of PDF documents in the browser, as it is the function of the OS X Internet plugin default to this end, or the option in Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF plug-in.

Plug-in Adobe Reader is disabled by default in the 10 Safari: preferences: Security Panel: Internet Plug-ins. You will need to activate it via the plugin settings - if you use it, but with a WARNING WARNING like Safari 10 notes that there are security issues that you can, or perhaps are not willing to accept.

With Adobe Reader Plug - in disabled Internet, 10 Safari automatically opens a PDF Web site in the browser. There are no preferences special setting to enable this default behavior.
