Inbox emails disappear when click another folder or box

E-mail messages disappear from my Inbox on Windows MAil when I click another folder or the Outbox. For example, 10 e-mails come in and if I go into the deleted folder or any folder for that matter, a couple or all emails disappear. They are not found anywhere including deleted or sent. All emails are safe on the server of the ISP and my IPhone 4S.

While in the Inbox: view | Current view. You want to show all Messages checked.

  • Emails disappear when moved from junk Inbox, why?

When I get an email, usually from a friend or someone in my address book, and he's going to the junk e-mail folder, when I try to move it to the Inbox, it disappears. I learned to make a copy of the Inbox, but it is yet to appear. If I move it to another folder, there is no problem, it presents itself. I mark the email as being not junk until I try to move it. I noticed that when I highlight the folders to move, there is no Inbox on the list.

Ask yourself why he's going to the junk e-mail folder. I think this happens because Thunderbird made a mistake and you have to teach it what is and is not junk to help stop repeating this mistake.

Mark the message as not junk and this will help reduce the frequency of these evil categorizations and it will result in the message being delivered where it belongs.

    How to mark as legitimate?

    1. You right-click, select Mark as and then not smut.
    2. You can press J (note that tiny j brands like spam, capital J as legitimate brands).
    3. The add-on JunQuilla presents two buttons to your toolbar.

In theory, Thunderbird not Junk messages from people who appear in your address book. Can you confirm that the senders of these messages appear in your address book?

  • email disappears when put in a folder

I try to keep my Inbox and put emails into folders. When I checked my progress, none of the emails in one of my folders were there! Another file had the mails that I put in them.  So I tried to put a spam in this folder and it disappeared too! Called our it staff and they said that because it is a pop3 account they couldn't recover emails. Called our phone/internet provider and they found 100 emails to recover, but that is only 1 month worth of emails, I m missing from 12 months.  Please help me!

Which one? Regardless of different forums.

  • Why the Inbox tab disappears when I open an email

I have to go through all the emails back to the Inbox

Maybe you should start to close tabs message after reading the. If you open your Inbox is pushed off the screen so you obviously just keep opening tabs without closing the 'old'.

To get out of your situation, now, right-click on a tab and choose close other tabs. Then use the x in the other tab click on us there.

  • Email disappears when the release of e-mail in the Junk folder in windows mail

junk mail in WinMail in Vista problem

In recent weeks, any mail I "unlock" that had gone into the folder "Spam" is rather simply lost - it does not appear in my Inbox reception, items Dleted, treat, or any other folder.

Similalry, if I try to re-use the "safe list" features, that e-mail gets simply put discarded by WinMail (I'm usign on Windows Vista Home Premium, I continuously update).

    How can this be repaired?

If I need to re - install WinMail - how? I don't want to lose any of my emails...

Try to compact and repair the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  In addition, go to view | Current view | Show all messages in all your folders to make sure that you are not missing read messages or those who marked them as read.  Also check part 3 interference of program such as antivirus software (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).  I would, too, a backup of the database messages in case it happens something even more devastating.  See www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#wm

See if any of this helps.

  • Outlook Express Inbox emails disappeared after power failure

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

Last night, there was a sudden unplanned shutdown down of the PC (turn off).  After the reboot (late last night) and go to the Inbox Outlook Express, only e-mail messages today were from this time (2 / 26 +)!  I can't find any obvious backup file for old messages (more than 26/02/2010).

    (1) what might have happened?  I got shut-off before without any problem.

    (2) where the old emails can be (if not actually erased)?

    (3) how can I get these emails restored to OE (if they still exist)?

    Thank you

    S

Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :

    Recovery tools:

If you use XP/SP2 or SP3, and are fully patched, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

DBXpress run in extract disc Mode is the best chance to recover messages:

    And see:
    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4

A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

  • emails disappear when deleted on the server even though the checkbox 'keep emails from this account on this PC' is checked

    Hello

I would use my account in such a way that, when an email is deleted from the server (limited space) there is still on my computer.
It did not work for a while, but since I have a new PC, I was not able to set it up again in this way.
    I use the IMAP protocol.
    Any toughts?

    Thank you very much

    Tamas

If your mail acted as you claim in the past then it has set up a POP account and not IMAP. POP and IMAP are email standards and work of the same thing all the time. No e-mail client changes which.
It is possible to have IMAP email account and configure the client as POP with some providers.
Local folders is a standard account in all installations of Thunderbird.

  • The Inbox has disappeared from my list of IMAP folders.

My email accounts, the Inbox has disappeared after clicking the reset button in the box of IMAP folders.  No Inbox folder appears under the 'all' or 'Visible' tabs.  I discovered this after creating a new account (there are about 6 other) and noticed that there was no Inbox.  To the title of the Quick views into account, there is always an Inbox that shows the mails for all accounts, but the inboxes individual accounts I have reset disappeared.

No solution seemed to be available, even if on some forums ppl asks to see the Inbox folder are displayed for a short while, in the page of IMAP folder - I have not.  Any ideas?  Oh, it's on my laptop with 7 Ultimate; I have not tried this yet on my house last month w/Vista PC

    UPDATE

I solved the problem... at least, I managed to recover mailboxes.  Take a chance, I just simply deleted each e-mail account and then recreated the accounts.  Presto!  Inboxes are back.

I don't know why it does not appear when you create the new account last week, or why the inboxes of the other missing accounts on reset records, but apparently there was a problem, yet to be explained.

    Thanks for your attention!
