Incompatible text on two pages

Hope someone can help with this. The text on the left page is somewhat different from the text on the right page. I've checked everything I can think of - paragraph styles are the same, character styles are the same, there is no option to keep on the page etc.

I have nothing will get the spacing of the text on the two pages are the same. Would be grateful for any ideas on what I can verify.Untitled-1.jpg

Looks like the vertical justification of the left image is set on top aligned and Justified to the right. It's in the text frame Options.

My main problem seems to be that I can't predict the size of the text. In Java of BB, I used Font.getAdvance (string) to obtain the pixelsize displayed, but there seems to be in bb10 none of these methods.

If I use values with the standard fontsize (8) the code probably fails when the user changes the fontsize in the device settings.

  • How to bind the text blocks between pages?

    Hello

I searched all autour for this, and I'm guessing that the answer could be so simple that no tutorial it doesn't even mention:

How can I link the blocks of text between pages? I made a block of text in each master page and then connected one left with the one on the right. Indeed, all of the text in the document is linked from the page on the left of the right-hand page. But how do I link the page on the right with the following two pages 'below' in the document?

If I'm not clear, here is another attempt to explain: I'm going to insert a lot of text in a document, and I already know the size and the type of text block, I want the text inserted. When I put the text in the left side, it connects (goes on) the block of text on the right side. But it stops there. So I have to manaully through both pages, which connects the right page "at the top" with the left 'below', page by clicking on the image by clicking on the small arrow in the lower right corner, and clicking on the next page below. There must be a way to organize it in master pages or in some other way?

Thanks in advance for helping me with this problem of small size, but huge!

    Best

    Kim

    Two things...

For "automatic formatting" to work with Captain linked frames page, you must NOT release the Master frame before placing the text, and you must click inside the image area, not any sort of guide.

  • How to divide the notes on two pages?

Im a book with hundreds of notes (sometimes lengthy) composition. I want a rule above the first note of the page. I also want to split notes on two pages, if necessary. I had no problem with this in CS4 (but maybe the circumstances are different). Now I'm using CS5.

Problem: when there are more references note in the same paragraph at the bottom of the page, all the notes go to the next page, even when there is enough space for at least part of the first note. I have a workaround for it (only to leave the reference to the first in that paragraph, move the other references to somewhere on the next page, setting the text color to zero and put false references on the original locations), but it's not ideal. I forgot something?

Problem 2: I have set the rule dividing the body of the text and notes to 0.3 pt a length of 40 pt. With a reference divided into two pages, this goes well for the first page, but on the second page there is now a thick line and a lot more time (the standard system for notes rule?). This problem occurs in CS4. Anyone know if this will be fixed? Suggestions for a workaround? Or did I do something wrong?

Without actually seeing your document, it is difficult to propose a solution to the first. Looks like your reference text has not only the option to keep all the lines together, but also keep with next.

The 2nd problem is easily solved, though. It is * even * because it works in CS4. In the note Options dialog box, you see the options for the rule on the first Page, but the little drop-down menu selector allows access to the Pages that follow on as well. It works the same as with paragraph nets - a dialogue, but the drop-down list determines which settings you change.

  • Addition of a spinal column in a two-page coverage.

What is the best way to add a spine to coverage of premade two-page spread? I have an author who wants to ensure that the data of the title and author end up on a spine. OS10.5.8, ID CS4 Mac

Well you CAN 'T punt with any degree of accuracy. In this case, the best you will get is to center the text of the spine on a page, allow a whole bunch of bleeding at the edges and keep anything important, far from your toppings that are unknown, but also folds that are unknown and are not a design that will look bad when the fold falls where you expected and you have a color hard break at that time or when the text on the cover's off-center.

  • A gap of two pages with extra half a page that will be folded up?

    Hello:

I'm working on a children's book which is mainly composed of photographic images with some very simple texts on top. The size of each page is 23 x 23 cm with 0.7 purge cm on all borders. This means a normal spread of two pages will be 47.4 cm x 24.4 cm.

Now the problem I'm facing is the following:

There are two series that should have an extra 11.5 cm 'page' (included in the spread) which is printed in such a way so that the child will be able to fold and unfold. (A spread is on the back of the other, so the line of division of the folding area should coincide exactly on both spreads, the left side of a spread, one to the right of the back of the spread). These two series will be done on both 23 x 23 cm pages, more THAN the 11.5 cm extra page (the area that will be folded or unfolded) + bleeding. My question is: How do you create such a spread in ID? Unlike all other pasta spread, when there is only one line in the middle between the two 23 x 23 cm pages, in other words, I need to create a gap with two lines of division: a conflict between two 23 cm pages and another which marks the end of one of the pages two 23 cm and the beginning of the additional 11.5 cm page. So, in total, seen in a landscape view, we would have a spread which is:

0.7 cm purge + 23 cm [division line] page 23 cm [line] 11,5 cm folding a page + 0,7 cm bottom

and her back spread it is:

serving 0.7 + 11.5 cm foldable [line] 23 cm [division line] page 23 cm one page + 0.7 purge cm cm

All this because I need the printer to ensure the propagation fold line perfectly coincides with the reverse propagation fold line.

I hope that my explanation is not source of confused.

Thanks a lot for your help!

  • text of several pages

I edition of our catalog of courses, and now we add new to the old document is requireing me to do a number of copy and glue between two pages to leave room for new. Is it possible (be it in the Master, or just ordinary text areas) to get the text on a single page to wrap on the next page, when she filled out the text box?

I use CS2 so I hope that's not the problem.

Click the outport (the small square near the lower right corner of the text block - it will have a more red sign if there is overset text), then click inside the image where you want the text to continue, or just draw a new image with the loaded cursor.

  • Cross reference marker text differs from the text on the page

The text for a cross-reference marker is different from the written text of the page. For example, I have a numbered heading written as "3.1 Cats and Dogs", but the text of cross-reference to this position marker is "55227: title 1: 2.1 pigs and horses." The cross reference looks and works great on the page, but I can't understand why the text of the marker is different, and why it cannot be updated to match the text on the page.

I use Windows XP and FM9. Thanks in advance.

    Ron,

The target of a cross-reference marker must have a unique string that differentiates it from any other marker of cross-reference in the file... it is how Frame numbers how when it comes so it can maintain the link and make updates. As you have probably guessed, this string is a concatenation of way random (I think) integer to format BMP target and target the text of TFP at the time of the creation of the xref. With all these settings, it is easy to achieve the goal of a single string.

It seems appropriate to have this text update during an update of the xref, if something changes in the target. However, this would create two problems:

-All xrefs that are not being updated at the time wherever the marker is published would be broken. For example, suppose you have xrefs folder has a target and make updates, which modifies the marker of target due to changes to the target. Any xrefs in file B (or any file for that matter) would become broken, because they are still configured to search for the previous string of marker.

-An update of the xref always you would have to save the changes to the target file, which is an inconvenience at best. For example, if you have made an update of the book and xref target markers have been changed, you'd have to make sure that the files associated with the changes were saved later, otherwise your xrefs update would be broken later.

So, in summary, the text of the marker is just a unique identifier that is defined during the creation of the xref and necessarily must stay the same for its useful life, unless you want to go around fixing broken xref all the time. Moral of the story... do not put swearing or slandering of boss in your topics like temporary jokes if you never create xrefs their

  • How to do a two-page spread in photo books?

How to do a two-page spread in photo books?

    Hi Myrte Veach,

If you want to add pages to your photo book project, please follow the steps below.

Add, remove and rearrange the pages of book

You can add, remove, or reorder pages from the book. You can insert new pages anywhere in a book, except between the cover on the outside and the inside cover page.

Note: A book must have an even number of pages. If the change in the number of pages creates an odd number of pages, Photos automatically adds or removes a blank page to keep the number of pages to an even number.

Click project on the toolbar, and then double-click the book.

    Do one of the following:

Add a page: select the page you want the new page to follow, and then click Add a Page in the toolbar and choose Add a Page.

Set the number of pages in a book: click on the book settings button in the toolbar and drag the number of Pages.

Remove a page from a book: click on the page to select and press DELETE, or click on the button Add a Page in the toolbar, select the Page to delete, then click on continue. You can also click on the page, select the Page to delete, then click on continue.

Move a page in a book: rest the pointer over a page number until the page button, and then drag the button on the page to move the page to a new location. You can also select a page, and then drag the button to the page.

  • A full justification and display two pages do not work correctly on iOS 10

I have installed iOS 10 yesterday on my iPad 2 Air but have found that the two functions do not work correctly in iBooks. First of all, full justification does not work when the font size is brought to a certain level. In other words, a complete justification works only when I reduce the police to a size too small. It then automatically left justification when I increase the font size to a comfortable level. This feature, however, works perfectly on iOS 9.3.5. Secondly, as already posted by a member of this community of support, the option to display two pages does not work correctly. Also, this feature stops working when the police is increased to a certain size.

    Someone at - it solutions?

It is not a solution. Apparently, it's just how it is in the new iBooks. I would say that we all leave comments that we do not like it. This is a feature of iOS 10, so it won't go away unless we do a big noise about it. I just got my Mini iPad so I don't have to deal with.

  • Don't display two pages does not correctly in the iOS 10

I've upgraded my iPad to iOS 10 2 Air tonight, then went to continue reading a book that I bought recently through iBooks.  Display two pages, when the iPad is in landscape mode, does not appear now - unless I do the police really small.  If I increase the font size, while in the landscape to something more readable, I get only a single page view.

I deleted and re-uploaded the book, but the behavior is the same.  I signed up in iBooks on iPad an another running ios 9.3.5 and display two pages work properly, with normal font sizes - sizes that won't let me see the same book in two page mode on iOS 10.

Apple - help!  I really prefer the reading with the fashion landscape of two pages in iBooks.  I can't, however, seem to get this to work with anything other than tiny fonts.

    Has anyone else noticed this?

    I also noticed. Any solution?
