Independent record of the other disks. Withdrawal safe?

We use the EMC Avamar as backup of virtual machines.

The avamar Server VM to add disks to the VM of the safeguard measure, as independent and not persistent drives.

Avamar does not have the backup task and the server still has the mounted disks. We shut it down.

We are afraid to remove records of the avamar server, we do not know if that will completely remove the drive of the server that has the actual mounted discs?

Does anyone know if it is safe to remove? We cannot start the avamar server, because disks, that he started being used.

This is what it looks like on the Avamar server, it has records of the mounted backup server:

dump.jpg

This is what it looks like on the backup server, you can see it's the same disc (DNFILXX_3.vmdk):

dump2.png

Can remove us the discs of the Avamar server, without them be removed from the server backup also?

Thank you in advance.

Pete

I'm not 100% sure (but almost) you can delete the virtual disks in the unit. When you do so, be sure to only select the option 'Remove virtual machine' ( DON'T select the option to delete the files on disc)!

Virtual disks are mounted as 'independent-no persistent', which - once the unit is turned on - automatically creates a redo (snapshot) disk, and because the unit is currently turned off, real virtual disks appear.

I saw the same problem with a camera of vmProtect Acronis - that seems to be working on similar - a few weeks ago.

  • Drive on which Windows XP to reside is always labeled as a system drive. How can I make one of the other disks that has Vista or 7 that the new system?

    Change the system drive

I'll try to explain my situation better than I can.

My situation is that when I used to have XP installed, I had installed the only drive I had back then which is now the drive D, for a long time, so I have Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit, Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit installed on two different discs, Vista is installed on drive C and 7 is installed on drive E , but I don't have XP that I had managed to get rid of it.

My problem is that the drive on which Windows XP to reside has always left this disc marked as system in the disk management window, and I was wondering how to do that one of the other readers who has Vista or 7 that the new system?

I already managed to change the startup disk from drive where Vista is installed to, it's just that I need to change the disk that is marked as system to another drive, such as D drive begins to show signs that it comes at the end of his life and I would like to move the startup folder as well as the other files needed to start on the other.

I assume that you installed Windows XP 1, then Vista, 7 (these 2 OS not in order)?

And Vista and 7 was by all means upgrade installation?

Since originally, that you have installed Windows XP on drive D, it should be marked as 'system' and retains so the tag 'system '.

The volume of the 'system' should be identified as the first primary partition active. It may or may not have the files it contains.

The fact that the system considers "system drive" does not mean that there are files that it contains.

Now, you want to delete the existing volume and create a new volume. Needs to be done outside the facility.
When you start the cd or DVD to start the installation list us readers, if you remove the volume the volume drive letter is already booked, so you get the next available drive letter, do not re-use the deleted volume drive letter.

If he removed during installation and then recreated as a new volume (formatting does not remove the volume, you need to delete the volume and recreate it)

I have long had a Zotero account and it works fine. I recently merged in a group with a few other people into account; We share the same set of references. Now I want to set up a personal account for different purposes, perhaps becoming a different group. When I try to set up the new user name and password, the same reference shows always. How can I start with an empty account for the new user name without clear items from the old account?

I know Zotero and just the second jscher2000 tips - if you want to actually different accounts, you must use separate profiles of FF.

The integrated solution for Zotero is to use groups for sharing of resources between people

I have HP LaunchBox manager and HP Setup Manager.  What to do to make the drive o/s?

I'm sorry, but your information is wrong.  The correct way to be able to burn the discs is:

    go to start

    find HP help and Support

Click on the one here is the HP configuration manager

    run this program

    Click set up backup

in the new window, you have 2 options

    Automatically back up files locally

    or

    Create recovery discs

    choose to create recovery disks

    Now click on

    Launch the HP Recovery Manager

    Now you can choose

  • Create new records from the other periodicies month

    Hi guys,.

I have a table in which we store our customers billing data. It s a subscription service so we charge the customer periodically, some customers are billed monthly, a few times a year, some 3, and some only once. We consider these customers who paid their last active bill, so I would like to know how much each month from customers is active. So lets say we have a table like this:

    Customer_Id Result Date Billing preferences

    1Failed02/01/2013Monthly
    1Successful03/01/2013Monthly

    2Successful01/01/2013Semestrly
    2Failed06/01/2013Semesterly

I want to get a table like this:

    Hi Jasonbichard,

    1. what type of drive is D? Is - this another partition on the same disk?

2 Windows operating system you are using?

You can change the location of the disk to save the data in the d: instead of C: and check if it helps.

    a. navigate to the location (username) C:\Users\.
    b. right click on the folder that you want to change the location, and then select Properties.
    c. click on the location tab and change the location to D: drive.

    d. click on apply and Ok.

  • UCS C220 M3 beep because of the failed disk in raid 5

    Hello

I have a server UCS C220 with 8 disks configured in RAID 5, which will beep continuously with 1 sec to 1 dry ground - indication of a problem of disk raid. Verification through CIMC, one of the drives (slot-7) is coming as faulty with the advice to "Reinstall or replace the storage disk. I have referred a case of TAC for this, got the disc replacement and installed. Suggested documentation its hot so just shot old and installed a new.

Now, the new drive is also to give the same status in the MMIC web UI. It must be disabled/re-permits to operate? In the MMIC web interface, under "Storage-> LSI MegaRAID SAS (Slot-2) 9266-8i-> Info physical disk-> Phy-Drive # 7", all the 'Actions' are grayed out i.e. ' overall immediate replacement ","Make dedicated immediate replacement","to prepare for the withdrawal. " This is true for the other disks work 7 institutions - all actions greyed out. I am logged in as an Admin user and it's a new box.

Also, is there a way to stop the ringing while the issue is under review? Its annoying to others working in there.

Screenshots with the new drive in:

    Thank you

    Rick.

Did you go to the WebBios to check the status of the disk in the view of the RAID controller?

To get there, you must press CTRL + H at the start, at the prompt of the LSI.

There, check if the disc is already on the Bay, otherwise it will have to be added manually.

You can also stop the alarm. Select the controller properties > continue clicking Next until you get here:

I need to reformat the hard drive to my PC by Satellite. I inserted the disc 1, off, turned back on while pressing F12. I chose 'clear the hard disk', and this part of the process went well. It took about 1.5 hours. However, he never asked the other disk. All I get now when I turn it on is a black screen with the letter 'j' in the upper left.

Can you tell me what to do now to re - install the default software/settings of recovery disks?

    Thank you!

    Jin

If I understand correctly, you want to reinstall the OS with a recovery disk... In the Bios, set under the 1st boot device cd/dvdrom. Then, insert the diskette and reboot the laptop, according to the instructions on the screen that should start the installation process...
    > It took about 1.5 hours. However, he never asked the other disk. All I get now when I turn it on is a black screen with the letter 'j' in the upper left.

To be honest, I do not know what that letter, j, means :) BU I know, the 1st recovery disk contains bones with driver and another disc with Toshiba Utilities. Perhaps, you should go to Bios and set hdd under the 1st boot device rather id cd/dvdrom
