InDesign CS5 hangs at startup

I can't start InDesign CS5 and I don't know why. It worked without any won problems but crashes at startup every time I try to start today.

You have had accidents, you get rid of the InDesign recovery files.

Quit InDesign (if you've managed to start).

Go in Macintosh HD/users/your name of user/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign / and delte Version 7.0 folder. The entire folder, not only its content.

Apply also to the Macintosh HD/users/your name of user/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign / and delte the 7.0 all folder.

Restart your Mac.

Try again.

I ended up going into the new user (in which indesign worked) and the copy of the entire folder Preferences (disk hard/Users /Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign ///) to my regular user (in which indesign did not work).

Now, everything works fine.

OK, that means it is a problem in the user profile files, probably the permissions on the folders preference for InDesign. You can try to replace the prefs (see replace your preferences), but most likely that will not work, then you must delete or rename the two hidden folders (the paths are in this link), then copy the two files from the user to work.

Hey everybody,
I had trouble with InDesign (CS5) two years ago on my macbook pro. I have reinstalled twice which slightly improves its operation, but still it would crash when I tried to add pages or view my images placed in a high quality display. I thought that my problem was the lack of RAM (4 GB), I had on my laptop because Photoshop and Illustrator would be would break also occasionally with large files.
But... I have just recently to plug an iMac with 16 GB of RAM, and any transfer to my laptop using the migration wizard. InDesign crashes now without opening it at all. Photoshop and Illustrator work very well.
I tried inDesign as a guest user and it's the same problem.
I have read forums and have tried to locate the preferences folders to move, but they are not here:
Drive hard/users / < USER > / Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign / < Version # > / < language > /.
Disk hard/users / < USER > / Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign / < Version # > / < language > /
I have also considered uninstalling and reinstalling on my iMac, but how do I do this without a hard drive?
Please let me know if there is more information I can give you that will help you will help me, I need inDesign for my major work for United and darn fear!

InDesign CS5 hangs with the warning dialog box

Facts:
InDesign CS5, v7.0.4
OS X 10.7.4
Without execution of application-font-management of third parties.
MacBook Pro (June 2012)
InDesign crashes in these two cases:
1 try to remove a page whose content is. Just as the warning box appears, it is without content (just the title of 'Warning') and accidents.
2. what package a file, as it is to warn you about the dangers of archiving policies, it does the same thing as above and crashes.
Tried alt-opt-cmd-shift thing to restart preferences and nothing.
I tried deleting the files of two preference directly so that they would rebuild and nothing.
Interestingly, I have another computer running OS 10.7. 3 (as opposed to 10.7.4 the crashy) and the same InDesign CS5 7.0.4 and it works perfectly.
Ideas? Conduit?

Our engineers have provided a workaround solution which, although potentially complex for some, should allow the full functionality.

Essentially, we ask the people affected by this problem to put three icon files in the InDesign application file itself to skip the check for the missing API.

Help! New InDesign 2015 hangs at startup

My InDesign has just updated to the latest 2015 (version 11.01, I think).
I use an iMac with latest OS X 10.10.4 and have used the subscription service of creative cloud for a couple of years now - never had a problem like this with previous updates.

The update that happened a couple of days, but only today have I need / have time for the new InDesign - I need to update my profile/biography/RESUME.
Then.
Next step: remove the preferences and try again.
This time, I decided to start with open InD directly from the Applications folder.
Same thing.
Then...
1. Use the uninstall feature in the creative menu Cloud
2. Also remove preferences and caches
3. Remove the various folders that contains the pref files.
4. Disable fonts in FontAgent Pro work, leaving only minimum "skeleton" system fonts
5. Empty the trash
6. Installation new InD of the CC
7. Restart
This time, I receive at least as much as the appearance of working space - but I go to file/open, it hangs again.

I am in London, and it will be in the early hours of the time local Monday before tech support chat opens. But I need to send my profile for the start of the working day and then other work to progress.

All suggestions welcomed

There's a pretty good chance that the problem is with FontAgent Pro is not yet compatible with the new version of the code. ITU usually takes awhile of plugins to get caught.

After Effects CS5 hangs at startup

After Effects CS5 (MAC, German trial version) needs 5-10 minutes to start, hangs on the message 'MediaCore wird initialisiert. On another Mac (macbook small!), it works fine. I did a reinstall, no effect. No plugins are installed.

Thank you guys. It looks like both you have a similar problem with a third party AVI codec. If please remove or uninstall third party such as DivX, XVid, AVI codecs etc. of your system and try again AE.

You can also temporarily disable these components by closing all QT apps and then drag the components out of the Library/QuickTime folder on your boot drive. If it works, try adding them back one by one until it fails again. This is the codec problem.

Contribute CS5 hangs at startup

When I try to open Contribute CS5, it crashes! I get the blue screen of Contribute and then the program opens a moment (2 seconds), then suddenly crashes and closes without warning. Any suggestions?
I am running CS5 on Windows 7 Enterprise.

Thank you, kCUI. Who did the trick. I found if I deleted a specific folder in the CS5ServiceManager folder that would launch Contribute. Namely:

C:/Users / [...] / AppData/Roaming/Adobe/CS5ServiceManager/extensions/ConnectionsHomeOMBackend /.

Remove the ConnectionsHomeOMBackend directory (and leaving the rest of CS5ServiceManager alone) has solved the problem for me.

InDesign CS5 hangs on launch 'the initializers late call.
Has been very well, just started to do.

Available granularity depends on your mechanism right install.

Run the tool, and it will present you with options. It does not remove anything until you tell it.

InDesign 6.0 on Windows 7 hangs at startup after time change

My InDesign 6.0 running on Windows 7 hangs at startup. I was working on the program when my time system changed last night and now, there's an error between two timestamps. I followed the instructions to remove preferences, to remove default values and reinstalled everything. I can't find the SavedData file according to the instructions. What should I do next?

InDesign on Mac OSX 10.9.3 CS6 hangs at startup

I have a problem with InDesign on Mac OSX 10.9.3 CS6 and I'm really desperate now...
I installed the CS6 Master Collection a few days ago... all programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects TE) work well, but InDesign does not work.
When I try to start it, it suddenly crashes during (or immediately after) step "beginning upward Service Registry:

I just got a new MacBook Air with os x preinstalled Lion and transferred files on a Mac snow leopard with migration assistant. After that, Indesign CS5 will not start on the air. I tried to update the software several times, and nothing seems to work. Photoshop works great, like indesign on my other computer, but it crashes at startup, once the startup screen mentions something about installing plugins that never work. What should I do?

Trial InDesign CS5.5 crash at startup

I have a problem with the Trial Version of the suite CS5.5 Design Premium where shortly after the start, the program crashes and gives me the spinning wheel of death (mac) InDesign CS5.5.
In two of these scenarios, open an existing Document or to create a new Document, I can create/open the document but then immediately after that the document opens in the workspace, the application stops responding.
Here is the configuration that I work with:
Apple iMac (iMac11, 3)
Intel core i5 2.8 ghz
4 GB DDR3 1333 mhz RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5750
1 TB 7200 RPM HARD drive
Magic mouse
Wireless keyboard
OS x Snow Leopard 10.6.7
The system is a new system and has all the latest updates software for OSX. The only fonts are the default values of the system and MS Office 2011 fonts.
I tried uninstall/re-installing several times and met with the same results.
Any help or support would be much appreciated.

Hey, Peter I solved my problem of Bro in some fonts do not support my indesign. So, I took off bad fonts and now its all working properly.
